After you read it Nirvana changes you and you are simply not the same person as before – and there lies the essence of the book. It will definitely touch you in many ways; leaving you a bit more joyful, relaxed, and spiritually awakened especially if you read the book till the last lines. And, the chances that you would leave the book midway are next to nil – thanks to its gripping narration, well put-together plot and story line.
This is a novel by famous writer of Nepal Ghanashyam Khadka. Originally it was published in Nepalese in 2016 and has been translated into English now. Marvelously blended with love, romance, psychology and spirituality, Nirvana gives readers a glimpse of inner world. Readers can naturally experience transcendental life from the way its characters deal with growing frustration, anxiety and depression of contemporary world.
The novel finely deals with the everyday life of people as well as the eternal, or the spiritual world at the same time. In course of his job, Bodhi, the central character, as psychologist, lets readers peep into the world of intense mental stress and quite helpful therapies as well.

The book could have been a lot better if the author could have stick to the specific plot. I find some of the character in the book do not do justice to the story line and are not necessary. The author has brought some of the principles of spirituality in the book, which I find fascinating. However, the book does not live up to its hype. This book has attempted to do something new but has ended a mediocre effort.

म कसैको लागि एक दिनको आकस्मिक छुट्टी हुँला। (त्यो नि आई. डि कार्ड झुण्ड्याएर मृत्यु वरण गरे नत्र बेकारकी मौत), कसैको लागि एक छाक, कसैको लागि एक सक सर्को अक्सिजन, कसैको लागि एकछिनको भार, इत्यादी॥

‘यसरी बाँच्न मन छ कि मृत्युको भय पनि नहोस् अनि जीवनको लालसा पनि नहोस्।’- भन्छ निर्वाणले॥

समिक्षाः
मोक्ष, समाधि, ध्यान, मनोज्ञान, चेतना, भ्रान्ती, मयावी, आदि जस्ता शब्दको प्रयोग गरी पुस्तक राम्रो बनाउने प्रयास गरिएको छ। किताबको मूल सार मोक्ष प्राप्त कसरी गर्न सकिन्छ भन्ने कुरा थाहा गर्नु हो अनि यस किताबले जीवनको गहिरो रहस्य वा भनौं मृत्यु प्रतिको विचार-धारणाका बारेमा विशेष चर्चा गरेको छ। जसको प्रभाव मलाई पनि राम्रै पर्न गयो।अन्तिममा मृत्युको बारेमा ज्यादा भनिएको छ तर अघिल्ला अध्यायहरूमा जीवनलाई जोड दिइएको भने छैन।

पहिलो कुरा चाहीँ, मुख्य पात्र साइकोलोजिस्ट हुन् तर पनि यस कुरालाई खासै जोड दिए जस्तो लाग्दैन जब कि किताब नै मनोविज्ञानको वरपर घुमेको छ। उनले उपचार गरेको ठोस सबुत-प्रमाण कतै प्रष्ट छैन।
किताबका केही पात्रहरूको त हुनु र नहुनुले केही फरक नै परेन जस्तो लाग्यो जस्तो हेलिकप्टर वाली, श्वेता।आखिर बिना श्वेता पनि यो कथाले भन्न खोजेको मुख्य कुरा बुझ्न सकिन्छ। किताबको मुख्य सार पनि अन्तिममा छ अनि कथा पनि त्यति मै सीमित हो कि भन्ने भान हुन्छ या त्यहीँबाट कथा शुरू हुनु पर्थ्यो कि जस्तो लाग्छ। मोक्ष चेतलाई बेसी जोड दिइएको अध्याय पनि अन्तिम दुई नै हो।तसर्थ मैले सोचें जत्तिको उत्तम यो पुस्तक मैले पाईन। उत्प्रेरणा दिने आख्यान हो किताब नराम्रो पनि झ्याप्पै म भन्दिनँ। बुद्धत्व र मृत्युको सटिक धारणाको लागि यो पुस्तकलाई म सम्झिनेछु।

निर्वाणको एक हरफः
“संसार भनेको सर्प जस्तै हो, दुःख भनेको त्यसको दंशले दिएको पीडा हो र त्यसबाट छुट्कारा पाउनु मोक्ष हो।”

अर्को एक हरफः
“मृत्यु अन्त होइन अर्को यात्राको शुरूवात हो।”

घनश्याम खड्काको निर्वाण पढि सकाए। बुद्ध दर्शन र जीवन दर्शन बोकेको पुस्तक उत्कृष्ट छ। उपन्यासको प्रमुख पात्रको भोगाइ र पुस्तकका शब्दहरू दर्शनले ओत प्रेत छन। पुस्तक जीवन दर्शनले भरिपूर्ण छ। सुख, दुःख, मुक्ति र निर्वाणको कथा रोचक छ। सबैलाई म यो पुस्तक पढ्न सुझाउछु।
