Skylar thought she’d outrun her past six years ago.Growing up, her life was dictated for her and reinforced with a heavy fist.The people who were meant to love and protect her were those that caused her the most pain.So she risked everything and ran. It was the Brothers by Blood MC that gave Skylar the chance to explore her own mind and body, and work toward a future that she had control over.She swore she’d never fall for a brother, not willing to lose the life she’d built. When she’s paired with Eagle during a club run, Skylar’s determined to pull a smile from the dark and moody brother. What started out as a playful game, soon ignited into something much deeper than she’d anticipated.Was she ready to risk everything all over again if he didn’t feel the same?Eagle didn’t like to stay still for long.After many years in the army, his luck finally ran out, and he had to watch helplessly while his team was killed.People he’d laughed with, and shared his life with, suddenly gone.There were moments when the memories became too much, and he was trapped in his own personal hell, but it had become a part of who he was, something he felt was his burden to bear.He never expected to break down in front of Skylar, to have her see him at his worst.She didn’t try to fix him.She threw sass, she was sarcastic, and she made those moments when he could breathe again worth fighting through hell for.But how did you claim a woman who refused to belong to anyone but herself? Neither of them knew how to tell the other how they felt, but when the past returns with a vengeance, they might just run out of time to find out.
Addison Jane is a born and bred kiwi girl with a passion for romance and writing. When she gets the chance she enjoys the little things in life such as reading, dancing, music, and Facebook, but her world really revolves around the little girl who calls her Mum. It's an awkward balance between alpha males and Disney princesses but it works. Growing up on a small farm next to the beach will always make her a country girl at heart. But since moving away to a small town close to the city she's discovered a dangerous love for shopping. Writing stories has been something that’s come naturally since she was young, and with the massive support of her friends and family, she finally decided to step out of her comfort zone and share them with the world. She enjoys bringing her books to life with strong female leads, sexy passionate men and a rollercoaster of twists and turns that lead to the happily ever after that her readers desire.
Skylar has escaped a past she never wants to return to. She joined the Brothers by Blood MC as a club girl and loves the freedom it offers. She's studying at school and doesn't need a boyfriend. She has all the love she needs from the club.
Eagle is suffering from post traumatic stress after serving in the army. He goes to meetings and try's his best to get by, but things will never be the same for him. He doesn't get close to people and he certainly doesn't date. In fact, he doesn't even sleep with the club girls.
Skylar's sister finds her and is in need of some help. Skylar's past is about to catch up with her but not all of its bad. Her sister doesn't understand the rules of the outside world, but Skylar's happy to have her free of her colony.
A road trip which pairs Skylar and Eagle together is the start of a new friendship. Their troubles are about to come to head.
I loved this book. I've read this book out of order, but it can be read as a standalone and it didn't affect the story. The story is engaging, gritty and sexy as sin.
The Phoenix Club Girl Diaries is how I found Addison Jane. When I finished reading the two books in that series, I jumped back to start at the beginning with The Club Girl Diaries series because the worlds are interconnected. Actually, all her worlds are interconnected so I’m looking forward to going back and reading these connections because I’m just OCD about things like that LOL
I didn’t not like the series, but I was very unimpressed with the storylines. For me, and maybe that comes from reading so much, they were too predictable and the inconsistencies in the plot were something I just couldn’t get past. Some of the editing errors throughout the stories are huge. Everything from grammar to simple spelling to using Columbian instead of Colombian (as an example) ran ramped thru every book. Some of the books touched on some intense life circumstances but yet I felt no real tug of emotion when I read them.
Since I’ve read her recent work, I can safely say that most of this has improved with the newer stories, at least of the ones I’ve read. The Phoenix series reads on a much higher lever than this one, in my opinion, so I’m looking forward to reading her future work and see how she continues to connect her worlds.
Through out this series we've seen Sky around and she had been very nice to everyone, a bit of a smart ass, really fit in. With this book we get to know more of her background and why she became a club girl. I felt bad for her and what she went through, was glad that she found her real family now and how everyone at the club is there for her. When her sister shows up, they jump to help and later when the rest of the family shows up, they help were they can and do what is necessary with others.
Eagle is a bit of dark horse, despite being around, you didn't know much about him, other than he is Leo's BFF. His history is just as heartbreaking as Sky's, just in a different way. I loved how even though they didn't know each other well, Sky did what she could for Eagle when she knew he needed help. The two of them really worked together! I was glad when he finally got off his ass and claimed her.
I liked where these 2 ended up, they are really building a future together and supporting others.
- What I love most about this series is how original it truly is. Addison brings to light that it's ok to be a women and know what you want. It's ok to own your sexuality and explore without judgment. And that women as a whole fucking rock!. She puts a Younique spin on MC romance showing us that club girls not only rock their life proudly but also deserve the HEA regardless of the life they choose to live.. of men can do it then why can't we?😏.
Stepping into new territory with this one she dropped bombs that blew my mind. As per we get the wicked MC and the crazy loveable bunch with the addition of some new lovelies and countless possibilities for the future 😜. Skylar and Eagle (Max) were a delight to read and their rollercoaster romance dragged out all the emotions leaving me limp with satisfaction. Subjects in here really are sensitive and touch the heart but Addison wrote it to perfection bringing light to things that need a voice. I loved it hard and can't wait for what's next.
I've loved all of this series and while I was a bit concerned we'd been away from this series too long, I was excited to get more from this series. My initial thought was rubbish, because from page one I was hooked. I loved Skylar and Eagle. Both of their back stories were heart touching and they deserved a happy ever after. Just like the rest of this series, yoiu get to catch up with ALL the characters, which makes this series addictive. The characters and their stories are a part of us.
I do hope there is more to this series, because this book opened many opportunities for future books.
4 🌟🌟🌟 Another awesome book in the Club Girl Diaries! I love this series! I love that these girls have a back bone!!! Eagle was a great hero! I loved that he had so much love for his country! Loved that nothing to over the top happened and not a lot of unnecessary drama either. Great book & I enjoyed every page.
I’m a sucker for a good cult redemption kinda story. I loved Sky. Her strength and personally were great and Eagle was freaking hot and sweet. I loved the flow of this one more than the others. Although I enjoy this series! I really hope all these girls get books
I freaking adore Addison Jane's books. Club Diaries is one of my favorite series of all time. That said, this book wasn't what I was expecting. It was way more.
I should start by saying that I do suffer from PTSD and survivors guilt. Knowing this, I am always somewhat leery when I read about it in books because the author normally doesn't get it right. Addison not only got it right, she brought out the true emotion that goes through people who suffer from these. What I read at times brought tears because it was like she understood the pain I go through at times. That she understood what my husband goes through watching me when I break down. Like I side, Addison nailed it perfectly.
Eagle and Skylar are perfect for each other since both share issues with one or both of these. The way they help and understand each other speaks volumes above normal love to couples. The love they feel for each other makes your heart sing and makes you want to add them to your #relationshipgoals.
There is plenty of suspense, like true Addison style, that is packed into this book as well.
The characters and plot are well developed. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
I wish I could give this book more than five stars because for me it hit everything. I am now excited for the next book to come out. Thank you for such an amazing read.
Finally I got down to reading this book. I absolutely loved every single moment that happened in this book. It definitely opened some windows to some certain people being coupled and getting books. Wink wink Addison. Girl you delivered such a fantastic book. The club girl series are one of my favourites and go two series. Op and Leo will always be my main mans but eagle is hitting the top three as well.
This book does contain some triggers such as post traumatic stress disorder and certain themes, if this is something that can cause a trigger to you this book may not be for you.
Eagle is the guy who doesn’t show his emotions, barely talks, grunts and can be a bit moody. But then we have the sassy, fiery, protective, beautiful Skylar. Skylar has come a long way from the way things were in her past . Her story isn’t an easy one. It’s full of so much emotion and I felt so much anger. When it came to learning more in depth about Skylar, I couldn’t help the smack of emotions that hit me in the face. This book definitely has all the emotions and feelings.
Eagle’s story isn’t easy, he takes every day as it is. He lives with the nightmares, flashbacks and constant reminders of certain things that happened in his past. We see him learn to cope with how something little can trigger him off. Skylar is someone who can pull him out of his head when he is being pulled into the darkness. Skylar and eagle just click and they have such an amazing connection and chemistry.
The sex scenes are my favourite , come on they are everyone’s. we get to see them become intimidate and how deep there connection is. It’s hot and it’s smoking. The things eagle can do and that beard. Wouldn’t mind his face somewhere. I had to insert something sexual here.
This book pulled me in and captivated my thoughts. My mind was set on devouring this book and once I did , I was left wanting more. I cannot wait to see what else is in store from this author. I just hope this author keeps creating fantastic couples with one of a kind stories forever.
Skylar and Eagle are 2 different people going through every day life coping with their issues. One better than the other it seems.
Skylar is like a breath of fresh air, she makes Eagle smile and that in itself is a feat. But with happiness comes sadness....'The punishment was to be made in pain and blood.'
The author has taken a sensitive subject and wrote it with obvious research and respect.
There is suspense, sexy times and the fantastic writing I love from this author.
And please say there will be a Deacon and Emerald?
Finally Addison has given me more from the Brothers by Blood MC and their Club Girls. This time she’s given us Eagle and Skylar and man it was insanely hot, sweet and did I say hot?!
Eagle was in the Army with fellow brother Leo. After an explosion that’s left only them alive Eagle swore to never get close to anybody again. He ended up joining the Brothers by Blood and decide to go nomad where you could just go from one place to another whenever he felt closed in. Being with Leo in Athens he has decided to stay there a little bit longer and it helped when he took one look at Skyler he knew he couldn’t leave just yet.
Eagle didn’t mess with club girls. He didn’t want to shit where he slept. But, when they have to go on a run for charity event him and Skyler are paired together. The minute Sklyar got on his bike everything changed with just two words “just breathe”. Those two words from her changed everything for him. Eagle New then and there that she was different from everybody else and that he would do anything to get to know her more. Then when somebody from her past shows up out of nowhere he knew he must protect her at all costs. He’ll do whatever he can to keep her and the rest of the MC safe.
Sklyar left her families religious colony all those years ago she found the Brothers by Blood MC and she learned what family really was. She might be considered a club girl but the brothers make sure that she’s taken care of and that she’s protected at all times. Eagle hasn’t been around a lot and is very quiet, but she knows there’s something different about him and that she knows she just wants to see him smile. Even when she says crazy stupid things makes him smile she finds herself smiling. When he has a panic attack Skylar sees he’s hiding things. She doesn’t want to change Eagle. Just make him smile. But, when a few people from the colony show up out of nowhere she knows things aren’t going to be easy. Instead they’re going to be very dangerous and she just wants to keep everybody she loves safe.
Skylar is the perfect club girl and Old Lady. She’s not afraid to put her foot down and say what’s on her mind, yet she knows when and where to do it and front of who. She wants to protect her family. Skylar also can’t get Eagle out of her head or heart.
Eagle kept himself isolated for so long. He wasn’t prepared for Skylar to come along and make him feel alive for the first time in so long. Eagle wasn’t sure if he wanted an Old Lady like all his friends are getting. But, he knew he didn’t want Skylar with anyone else but him.
This was a great story. Addison handles Eagles PTSD perfect and tactfully. She’ll make you feel his pain. Skylar is the perfect woman to be by his side. I’m so looking forward to the next brother and club girl. So, Addison hurry up and write
Ok I flipping love Addison Janes stories I think Skylar has got to be one of my favorites in the Club Girl series these can be read as a standalone but I'd suggest that you read Hadley before you start this one because the couple in that play a part in this and there would be a major spoilers if you haven't had the chance to read yet . The couple Skylar and Eagle are perfect for one another due to them both having a past with guilt and pain whenever they have an episode they have each other to lean on while also steaming up my kindle "wink" . You can't help but be drawn to Skylar she just has alot of likable qualities by being funny , protective , comforting , and very sassy . Loved Eagle he tries to keep the heroine at arms length but it's hard to resist her charms , after dealing with survivors guilt while also have panic attacks he gets someone to help him breath in such a amazing way . I really loved this story and I'm hoping to see more of the secondary characters books because they definitely have stories to tell . Loved the fact that this author came up with a series so unique about club girls their not like some that I've usually read about these ladies don't cause drama , aren't witchy , and show respect . I'm so excited to see whats to come for the author copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero=10 heroine=10 secondary characters= 10 Chemistry= 10 steam= 8 romance=5 humor=4 darkness level= 4 action= 4 mystery= 4 enjoyment= 10 angst= 2 story line=10 Story ending=10 character development= 10 pacing= 10 cover= 10 stars=5 author= 10 would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book= yes would I read future books by this author= yes
The Club Girl Diaries would have to be one of my favourite MC series and was so excited to dive into Skylar. Skylar is a strong woman and a character that you will admire and respect for what she has overcome. This beautiful woman has a smile that would light up a room, a heart as big as Texas and sass and attitude that will make you laugh and love her even more. Eagle is a man that keeps to himself and is trying to hold his head above water from the guilt that he is drowning in. Eagle doesn't want to be fixed because he knows that isn't possible and Skylar doesn't want to fix him but what she does want, is to bring some light to his dark and to see that smile that lights up his whole face when she delivers the sass that he has come to love so much in her. As these two fight the demons of their past they start to realize that sometimes it is easier to breathe with someone by your side. Their story is gritty, powerful, funny and at times heartbreaking. I should also prepare you, Eagle will have you melting like ice on a hot Summer's day. Move over Kit and Harmony as I have a new favourite couple in this series.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A romance of bikers against a creepy cult that I devoured =D For me, this is the best book in the series because I found the characters and the story much more developed (I really enjoyed seeing Eagle dealing with his post-traumatic stress disorder, seeing Skylar learning to break free from her past, seeing them both fall in love ...) PS: I would love to have a book with Deacon and Skylar's sister despite the age gap =D
I absolutely love this series. Couldn't stop reading this book. It has everything I want in an MC read. Drama, angst, sexy AF alpha male men, and strong women oh and the sex scenes are off the hook. Can't wait to see whom is next in this series. Just an FYI in the USA the word for windscreen here is windshield!!!! Never heard it called a windscreen until I was beta reading for a British and Australian authors lol. Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
Love this series and the detailed stories behind the characters. Also all the new characters brought I to every story too.. I can't wait to read more from this series!!!!!!!
Intense, suspenseful, captivating, riveting. Those are just some of the words that come to my mind when describing Skylar's story. The girl is so strong and beautiful! To overcome everything she has faced and still be positive and sassy shows what a beautiful strength she possesses. She is exactly what Eagle needs.
I was utterly captivated by this book from beginning to the end. I couldn't put it down. It's chocked full of "melt your panties off" sex and will leave you on the edge of your seat with the suspense. Absolutely loved every crazy emotion that I felt, and there were many. It was like I was there, experiencing it right along with the characters. A definite MUST READ!!! 6 stars!
This series just gets more fantastic as it goes along. Skylar is a story that will have you feeling a gambit of emotions for both Eagle and Skylar. The two of them overcome and grow in this story. I loved how nothing and everything changed for them. Skylar fought for her HEA, she was making it one of her own. When she hopped on the back of Eagle's bike, she didn't realize that it would change her HEA forever. She will have the fight she never expected to overcome a past that was buried deep down inside. Eagle survives, that is all he does, and all he knows how to do. When his survival means everything, he will have to battle the demons that tackle him and bind him in purgatory. His whole perception changes when Skylar climbs on the back of his bike. I don't want to spoil, but this is a MUST read book. Addison covers PTSD and demons in a way that I have yet to read. She combats these deep dark plagues of the characters and makes them real. I also LOVE how she ended this. I think anything else would have been fake and not realistic for the passion she poured into the characters. How they fight and rise above will leave you wanting to read this story again and again.
So I have a thing about documentaries about poligamy and this was like that escaping poligamy and I loved it very hard hitting with some of the topics in this book but it wouldn't have been the same without it I loved that the group is getting bigger and better I can't wait to read the next one
Action packed, contemp outlaw MC romance - Highly Recommend!
Written for mature adults (18+ years old) as it contains scenes stereotypical for the MC genre with examples listed below. While this could be rea as a stand-alone, I HIGHLY recommend these be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction, as it has reoccuring characters and references to content that cannot be fully detailed from the previous stories as well as overarching themes.
** If you have not read any of the previous stories, the following may contain spoilers **
⛔️ Contains references to, or detailed scenes with subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, dubious consent, spanking for pleasure, multiple partners; mental health challenges (i.e. anxiety, depression, PTSD, bi-polar, suicidal tendencies, etc.); violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, torture, rape, attempted rape, blackmail, coercion, assault, threats, fighting, jealousy, subterfuge, human trafficking; polygamous situations, betrayal, drug use, drug distribution, gun running, domestic violence, religious cults, etc.
** There are several scenes that contain graphic details that are intended for mature readers only (18+ years old). They fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **
There are a some grammatical issues, but nothing that was difficult to interpret. There were multiple incorrect word choices (i.e. buying vs bringing, woman vs women), missing words, incorrect punctuation and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
The same previous stories, this story contains POVs from Skylar and Eagle. I think because of the mental health challenges dealt within, the dual POVs really help to bring the characters together and demonstrate why their relationship works. The world building seems to be more dynamic as well; maybe it is because of the additional locations.
Here is a high-level overview of how it begins:
Skylar joined as a Club Girl a few years ago. The only one that knows about her history is Optimus, the MC President, because he had to approve her to stay there and “take care” of the men.
Eagle is a patched member of the Brothers by Blood MC, but he is considered rogue as he travels between Chapters. He is a veteran that served with Leo for 4 tours overseas before they both received a Medical Discharge after an IED exploded and killed everyone but them. Now Eagle has PTSD that has certain triggers and makes his anxious and unable to settle in one location.
At the end of the previous story, Skylar is surprised when one of her younger sisters in brought into Sugar’s shop by Deacon. Emerald has ran away from the Colony, the place Skylar escaped from 6 years prior. The club is sympathetic and can give her periodic time off from her duties to help her sister, but she can’t stay there with Skylar. So Deacon surprises everyone and volunteers to have her stay with him, as he is getting ready to take a couple of months off work anyway.
Skylar and Eagle haven’t had many interactions until they are paired to travel together to a charity event that the MC is a main sponsor of in Dallas, Texas. Right away Skylar realizes that Eagle gets tension from certain touches at certain times. She finds away to calm him and between the two of them they work out a system to prevent him having a panic attack from her touch.
On the way the group stops at a diner for lunch, before they can all leave, Eagle gets a call about his brother that is serving overseas. This prevents them leaving with the rest of the group. After they get on the road a car flips and clips the front of the bike. Fortunately they both are okay, but the car is smoking and the driver is trapped.
Eagle works and gets her free, but afterwards just freezes up when he smells smoke. About this time, Skylar notices a sign indicating their is a baby that may be on board. She tries to get Eagle’s attention, but soon realizes that he is caught up in his memories. Skylar goes to check and sees the car seat in the back. She climbs in, but the smoke is getting worse and the belt holding the car seat is jammed and won’t release … and she doesn’t have anything to cut it with …
Holy guacamole! Skylar is incredible! While well into the series, this is the first book I’ve read by Addison Jane and it reads perfectly as a stand-alone. Actually, it REALLY made me want to go back and read all the books that came before Skylar just because it was SO GOOD! It’s the first time I’ve read anything about one of the club girls. In most MC romances the club girls are catty and out to cause issues. It was so refreshing to read one where the club girls were treated as family not lower class citizens and to see things from their point of view. Full of sweet romance, loads of steam, heartbreaking emotion, and the perfect amount of action, Skylar is a book you won’t be able to put down.
After escaping from a religious cult Skylar found safety as a club girl with the Brothers By Blood MC. Finally having a real family that loves and supports her she’s truly happy with her life. When she’s paired with the one brother who is a mystery to her on a ride she discovers there’s much more to the elusive Eagle than meets the eye. Living life as best he can while battling PTSD, Army veteran and biker, Eagle can never seem to stay put. Taking a break from being a nomad he’s planning on staying in one place for a while with his MC. Already attracted to Skylar, he’s been avoiding her an all club girls because he doesn’t want any attachments, but while on the road with her during a ride he discovers she just may be the one who helps him breathe. When Skylar’s family comes back with a vengeance trying to destroy the happiness she’s found it takes not only Skylar and Eagle, but the whole of her MC family to fight for their safety.
Skylar was so easy to love. She was thoughtful, kind, and truly cared about every member of her MC family. All that she had to overcome after her heartbreaking and terrifying life with her biological family just made her a strong and kind hearted person. With every blow she was dealt from her family she just grew stronger. Eagle was absolutely perfect for her. His protective nature, calm understanding, and strength was exactly what Skylar needs. Skylar was just as perfect for him. He doesn’t need someone to “fix” him. Her care and patience were like a balm to his soul. Together that we’re absolutely beautiful!
Addison has done it again, delivering yet another fantastic Club Girl story that sits perfectly along the rest.
It's such a breath of fresh air, knowing that the foundations of this entire series is based upon strong, determined, courageous women. Women with fight, back bone & strength. Women with love, passion & loyalty running through their veins. Women who battle their pasts & fight for their futures. These are seriously addictive women.
Skylar was a gorgeous leading lady & more than deserved to stand by the side of the girls that have come before her. Blimey has she had a ragged past & it is a bloody miracle she is where she is - quite literally. I loved her passion for life, her feisty attitude, the fact that she was always smiling, appreciative & loyal to the club.
Then we have Eagle & heckers, what an alpha he turned out to be. Deep & troubled with a broken soul. Tormented by the war he still fights, forever trying to out run his demons. Until Sky shows him how to breathe.
Seriously, together they were sad but beautiful, the light in each other's darkness, with Skylar’s shining like a blinding beacon. This girl is so damn good & kind, she really did deserve to be loved unconditionally. And Eagle, oh be still my wretched heart, for when this man loves & allows to be loved, well it's so damn precious.
Their story was well balanced. I loved learning about their pasts, their ever present demons & the dangers that threatened a future they had yet to explore. The angst was perfect & not dramatic at every turn which I loved, with enough sneaky plot twists to keep me hanging.
A great read & a solid addition to this fab series for sure.
This series is terrific and Skylar is another fabulous book in it! I couldn't put it down!
Skylar used to be known as Sapphire when she lived in 'The Colony' with her family. She took beating after beating and escaped when she was sixteen to find a home with a different family, an MC one fitted the bill. Six years later she is working, studying and living at the clubhouse. Eagle is a nomad who finds the Athens chapter of his MC more comfortable than others. He is a returned soldier suffering PTSD and usually finds the freedom of the open road calming. Together Skylar and Eagle travel to a charity weekend with many of his other MC brothers..things get kind of crazy along the way with one thing after another happening.
The cult topic is one touched on before but in this book we get a more in depth look at what can happen, it's very scary too! Addison Jane has written a powerful novel that does make you sit back and think about this kind of existence.
Passion plus which is hot, hot, hot! The chemistry between Skylar and Eagle is combustible. The banter between Skylar and Eagle is fun and I really enjoyed how sassy Skylar was with him.
When the action really ramps up towards the end you end up sitting on the edge of your seat with the excitement and a hefty dose of nerves!
Quick Info Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone Part of a Series?: Yes POV: Skylar, Eagle ---------------------------------- Meeting the Characters Skylar - An ex cult girl. Born and raised to believe a prophet escaped and now living as a club girl to get through college Eagle - ex military man. Scarred and has PTSD ---------------------------------- What happens? At the end of the last book the cop shows up with Skylar's sister Emerald who had also escaped from the Colony. Skylar has to leave town with the club on a mandatory trip for a Charity event somewhere (I don't recall where, its not exactly important) however once there and Skylar and another club girl walking about are attacked by Skylar's older brother who has been groomed by their father to be the next leader. Eagle is slowing falling in love with Skylar, he suffers from PTSD and basically doesn't believe he deserves her. When her brother comes back for revenge for her announcing she was a club 'whore' he really steps up. Final thoughts I liked Skylar and Eagle. They fall in love so sweet and I really liked the angle of a cult group brainwashing their followers and children. It was interesting and different to typical mafia influence. Would I read again?: Probably Would I read this author again? Yes
I would give the first like 50 % a 5 stars, and then the last bit more of a 3.5 stars.
I think that I might be overdoing it with the MC romance... I know what is that madness?! Feeling a burnout or a slump coming in... and I can't have that over Thanksgiving weekend aka 4 days of nonstop eating and reading! But I think that this author does a really good job of not making you feel like this is just insta love and then thats it. She really makes the action a part of the story which I thoroughly enjoy!
I wish that this ended a little differently. I think that having a little more drama with the cult that Skylar was from would have been nice, not saying that this lacked in the drama because let me tell you it didn't. But I wanted it to go down in a different fashion.
I am not sure if I will read Ham and Mayeh's story right away... I might take a break for a few days or see what else is out there (duet books are really hit or miss with me, and I know that they end on a cliffhanger and it always makes me not want to start it....). This series is really good and I would highly recommend this to anyone in search of a great MC romance that has action, drama and sexiness, as well as some sassy, doesn't take anyone's crap heroines, and some hard on the outside but soft on the inside Heroes.
I love this book! Eagle and Skylar are an incredible couple. Sexy, supportive, smart, badass!!! Their bantering and snarkiness were very entertaining. Sexy teasing and plenty of HEAT! They are perfect for each other. They way she helped him deal with his PTSD and they way he respected her independence were perfect. Hadley and Leo still hold my heart but Eagle and Skylar are a CLOSE second, kinda 1A and 1B. I love them together soooooo much, I want more of them....we need another FAMILY type book (hint hint Addison). If you love Addison's other books, or MC books or just a good sexy love story you need to read this book. SPOILERS.....
ok...picky picky time...my only complaints were after Dallas, I felt there was a very important scene that was left out. I thought that for them, especially Eagle, to decide to continue the relationship was a big step and there was no scene of them/him thinking about that or deciding to take that step. I thought that was a miss. Also, I like the first time a couple admits their love to be part of the book. That's important to me as a romance reader and that was left out too. But these did not keep me from LOVING this book and this couple.
Amount of sex 3 / 5 How explicit 2.5 / 5 Story 4 / 5 Overall: 4 / 5
Skylar is the seventh book in ‘The Club Girl Diaries' by author Addison Jane. This story was the first in the series that I have read, and I had no difficulty with following along. Each book focuses on a different couple, and the author did an excellent job of keeping the reader updated. I am intrigued with some of the other couples, so I will most like go back to read some of the other stories too.
Skylar is one of the club girls at the Brothers in Blood MC chapters in Athens, Alabama. She had a very rough childhood growing up in the Colony, a religious community in San Antonio, Texas. In the colony, the men ruled and the women had little to no rights. She had a rough childhood and eventually ran away before the leaders could force a marriage. Now, several years later, Skylar is happy with her life as a club girl. She’s working, going to school and saving money for the future. On the upcoming charity run, Skylar is assigned to ride with Eagle, a nomad charter member who tends to keep to himself. Things begin to change when someone from her past threatens her. Then the action really begins!
