Friends, family, work, sleep—repeat. That is until I log onto my computer. After the mundane of everyday life, I get to let all the pressure and decision-making burden my online Dom, Corey.
I've never known peace like I do when we talk, and there's nothing that could make me happier--except maybe having him here, in person.
I'm finally getting my wish and it’s the most magical, pleasurable, and passionate night of my life, and Corey is every bit the perfect Dom in person that he’s been online for months.
But there's something on the horizon for Corey and I, something neither of us saw coming.
Shannon Youngblood is a thirty something, foul mouthed, erotic romance writer, who loves telling a story full of broken pieces, and broken people. There is no subject too graphic, or too taboo, to grace the pages of her stories. Shannon believes that life is not always Happily Ever Afters and Flowers, and sometimes her stories might reflect that. (Non HEA's OH NO!) Shannon loves hearing from her amazing, dirty minded fans as well! Be sure to follow her on her social media sites!
This is the first book by Shannon Youngblood that I’ve read, I bought Trapped a while ago but haven’t read it yet. That being said I will definitely be reading Trapped and anything else she happens to write. I loved “Mine” but I don’t want to say too much about it because I think everyone should go into it completely blind and not knowing. The only thing I will say is that I thought it was gonna be a short, cutesy little story that would make me feel good. I had no idea how absolutely and completely wrong I was and I pretty much always can guess shit ahead of time but not with this one and it left me SHOCKED.
SAM’S thoughts about COREY :
HE MAKES ME FEEL BEAUTIFUL, AND LOVED, AND CHERISHED. HE MAKES ME FEEL DIRTY, AND NASTY, AND FILTHY.
Samantha and her Sir, Corey, are going to meet for the first time after months of talking. Will this be everything they hoped for?
This is a short read that introduces you to a dom/sub lifestyle. Everything is consensual and everyone understand their limits. I would have liked it to have been longer, but given the ending I know it couldn't have been. The ending was heartbreaking, and reading through both the epilogue and dedication made it that much rougher to read.
My only issue with the entire book, is it needed editing. There were a lot of grammatical and spelling mistakes that one more round of editing would have fixed.
Meet Samantha Tull, who has another side taboo side which even her best friend does not know about. But tonight she is meeting Him the man she has been talking to for a year, panicking as tonight when they meet she will be playing by his rules. They both claim to love each other but will the dynamics be the same in real life? Will she let het Him down? Will he let her down? An unexpected ending, I hate to give away plots and parts of the story. I really enjoyed this book, short but enjoyable
Speechless! This short story will leave you speechless, and emotional. As true to all her books, the author puts her heart and soul into this story, you can feel the emotions, the excitement, the nerves, the happiness, the love, the pain and heartache. This book is a one click must!
This is a sad short story. It starts out lovely and I thought happy ever after was coming. It has a sad ending that brought tears to my eyes. I know people deal with this all the time, but it’s hear wrenching.
This book was beautiful, sexy and way too short. I wish it couldve been longer. The relationship between samantha and corey evolved perfectly and it was described in great detail. The end was shocking and left me in tears....this isnt your typical hea but dont let that stop you from reading it.
The story pulled me in and was very intriguing. I was not prepared for the ending but know that life is not all rosy as some people think it is. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the typos. Other than that, the book is great.
I didn't expect this! The story started with a nevous joy and anticipation and ended with a broken heart. I love it when an author is really good in describing the characters and the surroundings, as well as a good story, but sometimes it's too good. If you're not 'so in' the story, then you don't have to feel so much. Shannon Youngblood is almost too good. I don't want to change anything, but this one is going to stay with me for a longer time - I can already feel it.
The end of this story broke my heart. The whole story is so well written, it's a very quick read, but each character is so well defined, the story flows exceptionally well. I felt like someone was telling me the story of their life. I felt the ups and downs, insecurities and triumphs. And I'm still crying.
Brace yourselves when you read "Mine" by Shannon Youngblood. I have loved the writing that this author gives to plus size women who have sexual BDSM cravings. Wait until you get to the end because I didn't see it coming.❤
I know, this was published well before content warnings were a thing for books. If the author decides to do an edit or rewrite, I strongly recommend adding them. It would’ve prepared me for that ending.
CW: Off page suicide, stalker tendencies, dom/sub relationship, rope play, edging, mild public play, impact play. (Not an exhaustive list, just ones that are on the top of my head)
If you have never read an erotic novel, Mine: A Dirty Short would be a good introduction. It’s all the anticipation with one solid scene at the end.
Why am I giving it two stars? To be honest, it was going to four until I read the last couple chapters and epilogue. The minor typos (misspellings, an odd capitalized letter here and there, formatting issues) I could ignore. With all that build up, though, I was hoping for some grand scene scene between our leading lady and her master. It was sweet, but I wished there had been MORE.
Spoiler Alert: The epilogue threw everything right out the window.
