This will be engaging for the GROWN UP, who has a wealth of cultural exposure to creeps of all kinds, but I can't help wondering what the little one's blank slate mind will get from this.
Creeps include: a mummy, a vampire, a dragon, a frankenstein, an alien or monster, a bigfoot, a creature from the black lagoon, a zombie, a ghost, and a werewolf.
This will be a perfect bedtime read aloud around Halloween or for your Super Monsters or Vamparina fans! And with Ashley Spires’s illustrations, you know you won’t be let down. (Just be ready to have a conversation about the word creep!)
As most parents know, even little monsters must eventually head to bed. But that doesn't mean that they are ready to sleep. In rhyming text and quite a bit of humor, several caregivers try to put their little ones to sleep in this picture book. There are baby mummies, vampire bats, ghosts, and werewolves featured here, among others, all of whom seem determined to keep their parents awake. It's clear that the adults are at their wit's end in coming up with some way to get the youngsters to bed so that they themselves can get some sleep. The last page is charming and relatable as a little one holds a book toward the bed and asks for it to be read again. That simple word "Again" has so much meaning, and will bring a smile to young and adult faces. No matter the monster, human or supernatural, it can be hard to go to bed when you aren't quite ready.

Review:
Go to Sleep, Little Creep is a wonderful bedtime story for kids and parents that like the supernatural. It might even be a great storytime read for Halloween. And parents who love the classic horror films will definitely find it interesting with all the Easter eggs within its pages.
Go to Sleep, Little Creep narrates through its illustrations the struggles even monster parents go through to put their little ones to bed. We see parents hurrying to their children with toys or chasing after them, giving them one last snack before bed or trying to put on pajamas. But the little ones are too full of energy to go to bed.
I loved this picture book, especially the details found within the different monster parent/child scenarios. I am sure parents will have more fun than the kids. For example, when Godzilla chases baby Godzilla you can see in the background some drawings and toys related to its movies. The Frankenstein family has the best detail of them all! And the lagoon’s monster has a hidden surprise within the sea’s depth.
The rhymes by David Quinn and illustrations by Ashley Spires are great and go hand-in-hand with what they are trying to portray. The little kid monsters are adorable and you can see their resemblance to their parents. A wonderful read indeed, so if you like monsters and their little creeps this is the book for you. You will learn that human parents aren’t the only ones that struggle to put their kids to bed.

'Go to Sleep, Little Creep' is an adorable twist on a typical "bedtime" book. The parents are trying to get their little monsters to go to sleep because the sun's coming up and it's time for bed. There are mummies, zombies, vampires, fish creatures, Godzilla-type monsters, Frankenstein monsters, ghosts, werewolves, sasquatch, and some 'regular' monsters. Each have their own part in the book that match up with the rhyming story. I thought the story itself was cute and I loved how the author flipped the usual nighttime story with one that monster parents would use for their kids. The rhyme scheme kept a nice quick pace and rhythm that kids are going to love. The illustrations were fantastic - full page color with lots of details and adorable characters. The pictures fit in well with the story and each one corresponds wonderfully with the text it accompanies. This is definitely a new type of bedtime picture book and one that I most definitely recommend!

The moon is setting, the sun is rising and it's time for little creeps everywhere to go to sleep...but like any little kid, little creeps want just one more story, one more cookie, and one more cuddle.
Go To Sleep, Little Creep is deliciously charming, ridiculously cute, and sugary sweet! Through clever and lyrical rhymes, David Quinn spins an imaginative bedtime tale that will delight and amuse little readers with its silly humor and wondrous surprises. From furry werewolves, wrapped up tight mummies, flying vampires, and more, little readers will love all the adorable and endearing little monsters they meet.
Quinn's superb text is accompanied by Ashley Spires' fangtastic and spooktacular illustrations. Lively, engaging, and so full of heart, these illustrations perfectly capture the story.
Little ones and parents alike will be charmed and captivated by this fun bedtime treat!
‘Go To Sleep Little Creep’ is; fun, inventive, and ingenious. The author David Quinn teams up with Ashley Spires as the illustrator, proving to be a great combination. The visuals are clear and concise to match the fast moving text. The rhyming is impeccable! Care was taken with all the details; from book jacket , to book size. A quality project! Trained originally as an Early Childhood Educator, I recommend ‘Go To Sleep Little Creep’ as a read aloud experience, or for group storytelling. ‘Go To Sleep Little Creep,’ written by David Quinn, and illustrated by Ashley Spires. The book was published by Crown Books for Young Readers.
Don't let the title scare you off. The little creep is actually a little creepy monster. In this time for bed story, Quinn uses a rhymed verse and a series of different monsters to show how different families put their young ones to sleep. With clever funny illustrations, this is a perfect book to help put a young child to bed. Might find a better place in home collections but some classroom libraries will welcome it as well. I love the final image of a kid asking to have the book read again. A great book to use on a family literacy night.
Go To Sleep Little Creep is a fun, rhythmic story that will keep kids laughing all throughout the book. The "monsters" are cute and funny instead of scary which will help kids to enjoy the fun aspect of Halloween.
I really enjoyed how the book shows the relationships between all types of parents and how important the bond between parent and child is among everyone.
Overall this was a very cute book and I would recommend it to anyone for a quick, fun Halloween read!
I'm a big fan of Halloween books/entertainment that is Not actually scary and this hit the spot. Really cute illustrations and the rhyming will make the kiddos want to read it more than once. Great bedtime story for any time of the year, especially if your kiddos like "monsters". Parents will get a kick out of it too.
Delightful bedtime book with lots of different monsters and parents trying to put them to bed, a nice flow and rhyme. The FTC requires that I disclose that I received a free copy of the book from the publisher.
Really cute book with rhymes and saying good night to monsters but in the way regular books say a sweet good night to their little ones. The pictures are great, too, (not surprising since they're by Ashley Spires).
I thought that this would be such a cute Halloween bedtime read. I was a bit wrong. The illustrations are ok, some are very creepy for young children (in my opinion). No blood and gore, just creepy for a child. The story was lacking and the wording was a bit odd throughout.
It's really cute, great pictures. I like the story idea and it's executed pretty well. However, there are several stanzas of poetry that lack proper timing and fluidity. And I do question if it's a bit too creepy for certain ages. Probably just depends on the age and temperament of the child.
A monster based Goodnight Moon. The idea is clever enough and the art good enough to make up for some of the weakness in text and rhyme. I wonder if the night versus day flip would make this less good for a bedtime story. And it might not be for everyone, but I found it cute.
Cute little book, *definitely* written by a parent. Not 100% sold on the word "creep," but the rhyme is fun, the illustrations are great, and it's overall a good winding down story.
This title has a promising cover and premise, but it didn't quite line. Despite the cute line up of horror characters, the text is lacking. A spooky storytime pick.
A cute bedtime book, perfect for Halloween, but it doesn't hold a candle to Boynton's classic bedtime story. (Still my favorite bedtime book, I read it to my kids so many times I had it memorized.)
