Anthony S. Hughes Jr. was lucky enough to go to Georgia Southern University with some of his closest high school friends. He will soon learn, however, that university life is much different from high school!

Hughes is alternately poignant, candid, and hilarious as he details the highs and lows of his life as a young adult. Told through his journal entries, No Title details Hughes’s ordinary life but also the experiences that made his time at college unique. In this day and age, it is more important than ever to understand Hughes’s experience as a black student at college in America. He relates a terrifying racial profiling moment and the large and small prejudices many Americans still possess.

The son of Nigerian immigrants, Hughes is also in the nearly impossible position of living up to his family’s expectations for their only son. Struggling under the burden, Hughes gets into various kinds of trouble, from simple mischief to serious crime. Hughes never tries to find justifications for his behavior and instead uses his actions as valuable teaching moments for readers. Ultimately, Hughes’s journey is a testament to perseverance and the transforming power of family and the church.
