What’s a logical human scientist to do when an alien dragon shifter claims she’s his fated mate?

MIT robotics student Freda Hayes is forced to abandon her research when the Archon Empire’s cyborgs attack earth. With her little sister Lottie, she takes refuge in a secluded cabin...

News that the dragon shifters of Draxos have defended the planet from the cyborgs leaves Lottie the Draxos' biggest fan - and Freda sceptical. When Admiral Sysko D’Fray, leader of the Draxos army, lands right outside her cabin, she’s downright suspicious!

Sysko has been defending the galaxy from the Archon for decades. But he has another, even more, urgent battle to fight: the one to save his people from extinction. And human DNA, which includes a rare recessive gene making them compatible with Draxos, is the key to their survival!

Freda isn’t just any human; the curvy scientist is Sysko’s fated mate. She wants nothing to do with him, despite his efforts to learn all he can about human courtship rituals. But Sysko is in thrall. He must mate - or die!

Freda is desperately trying to finish her dissertation while mourning for her parents, who haven’t been since the Archon attack. She doesn’t have time to be wooed by an alien who wants to turn her into a dragon… no matter how attractive he is!

Can Sysko overcome his mate’s resistance and prove his love is real, or will the Draxos/human breeding program fail before it’s begun? And even if it succeeds, are the cyborgs truly neutralised?

Sysko is sure he has found his mate in Freda but she is not falling in line easily with his plans. He is a dragon shifter and now has the chance at a family if he can convince her of his love.

I enjoyed seeing Sysko fall for Freda. I had read the White Queen collection that features his sister and is a companion to the storyline. Freda is very suspicious of the aliens that say they are there to keep them safe. Their desire for human females to help repopulate their species make her feel like there is not a genuine desire. He works hard to convince her that he is genuine and will treasure her forever. I really liked the ending. It left me smiling and very happy for them and the future.

OMG I love this spinoff of the White Queen. Joon has discovered that some human females have a Dormant gene which makes them compatible to mating with the males on Draxos. There is hope of saving the Draxos now all they have to do is find a way to convince earth people to cooperate.

Joons brother Admiral Sysko has spent many years protecting worlds from the evil Archon Empire Cyborgs. When an attack on earth catches his attention, he flies to their rescue and while fighting in his dragon form he experiences the Thrall and realizes he has found his mate in a human. But she is no ordinary human and he must woo her into mating him, or he will surely die.

Freda Hayes is working on her Dissertation on Robotics at MIT when they are attacked by aliens! Now there is a hot dragon man standing in front of her claiming she is his mate..... Fat chance! As a scientist Freda cannot accept what she is seeing, but she is and she will not be an experiment for these aliens, but Admiral Sysko is quite a specimen and she can't help but want to experiment on him.

I love this series, Ms Grove really hit it on the nail when she started the White Queen and I really, really want more of these hot Draxos dragons.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This is Joon's brother Sysko book.
When Sysko meets Freda, the thrall is activated.
Now Sysko has to mate w/ Freda, his fated mate, or die.
What is Freda to do?
How can she let this Yummy Hottie die?
I loved storytelling + the characters!

Joon's brother Sysco finds his mate

I enjoyed reading this book. Frieda is a robotics scientist trying for her PHD. Sysko is the Admiral of the Draxos Space Fleet.
The Cyborgs have come to Earth to assimilate all earthers into their collective. They destroyed some of the major cities, killing billions. Sysco and his fleet attack the mother ship but some of the pods got away and headed to Earth.
The Draxos contacted the Earth's leaders and told them what was happening. They also told them they needed human women who have the Draxos Gene to volunteer to come be mates.
Frieda went to the mountains with her sister when Earth was first attacked. Sysko came down to where they were because a cyborg was detected there. While fighting the Cyborgs Sysko went into thrall because Frieda was his mate. I loved the AI brothers and sisters that were created in this story.
If you have read and enjoyed any of the Draconian books written by Ms Grove, you will enjoy this one. The transformation of earthers to dragon is similar to those books, but the women actually get to be a dragon themselves.
There is some twists and turns that keep you interested. I wonder if we will have more books in this world. I will just have to wait and see.

Shades of Star Trek: Sysko, brother to Joon from the White Queen, and the fleet General leads them to protect the universe from a fierce enemy out to take over that same universe. When they attack earth, the rescue facilitates learning that earth could be a genetic match with females to replenish those sacrificed by a genetic plague.
A rescue puts Freda close to Sysco in battle form and ignites his mating response. No need to see if human females are compatible. Only they could start the bond. But it seems while attracted to the gorgeous alien, she doesn't plan to marry him or mate with him or whatever he wants.
Will her attitude change when she learns how devasting her decision could be to the hero of her world?
The courtship is touching warm and sometimes funny while military man woos the graduate student.
The story is complete with the couple. Their "offspring" are unique and will warm your heart and make you cheer them on.
Freda grows and maintains her independence. A strong woman for a strong man. I enjoyed this continuation and hope for more stories in the series.

Second book in the alien dragon romance series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone. Freda is just about done with her dissertation and the Earth is under attack by cyborgs (think the borg from Star Trek). Her and her sister go into the country and woods in hope of surviving. But the cyborgs and new alien race trying to stop the cyborgs just can’t leave a girl alone. But the rescuers are hot seven foot dragon shifters. What’s a girl to do? Well of course you don’t trust them even when one is dead set on proving you are his fated mate.

An adventurous story between a guy (yes an alien, but a really hot alien) and an extremely smart human female. Dating, fighting cyborgs and building AI robots is all part of the day for this hot man female. You have to love her and her spunk. She dedicated to protecting her family and her AI work.

A must read for sci-fi romance readers.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

Freda Hates is working on robotics at M. I. T university when the planet is attacked by race of cyborgs from outer space. While Earth is struggling to come to terms with that another race of aliens come to help them. The second alien race are dragon shifters, who are determined to wipe out the cyborgs. All Freda wants is to protect her sister.
Admiral Sysko D'fray is in charge of the space fleet that are chasing down the cyborgs. They cannot allow them to assimilate the people from the planet. His own people have suffered and lost most of their females. Hopefully with the help of the humans on Earth they can begin to rebuild.
Our heroine is a very clever young woman who can make a big difference in the fight. Our hero has to learn how to relate to an independent human female.
A sexy Sci-Fi romance with really interesting characters and plenty of action.
I'm looking forward to reading more of the series.

Admiral Sysko is Queen Joon's older brother, he is out in the galaxy protecting different species and their worlds from the cyborgs that decimated his race of dragons. He discovers Earth during their invasion and he goes into thrall upon meeting Freda. Freda had been at MIT just trying to finish her desertation when the cyborgs invaded so she goes to her apartment , grabs her sister and flees to a mountain cabin that her family had been to previously. Then the Draxos also invade Earth trying to protect them from the cyborgs.

That is just the beginning of this exciting Brides of Draxos series. I love Ms. Groves stories her worlds have always taken me away from the physical pain that is my constant companion. I highly recommend her stories. You get sexy shifters to fall in love with and exciting new worlds to conquer along with strong women. I voluntarily read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.

Battling against the Archon cyborgs and looking for the earthling women with recessive dragon genes had Admiral Sysko D’fray, of the Draxos Armada, complete attention. But when he found his mate he was focused on the mating ritual. As a strong and independent woman, Freda had an investigative mind directed to help and protect and while reluctant at first, she opened to the possibility of been the One for Sysko. This was an entertaining, interesting and amusing story with action, suspense, droid characters that caught my attention, tender scenes, lot of witty comments, romance, passion, mating ritual and exciting space fights. The author had a very fertile imagination portraying the singular characters and their behavior. Liked the plot development with these aliens searching for a mate and the technology involved.

DNF - I only made it to 67% before I couldn't take it anymore. This was definitely not my cup of tea. The flow was bad, the characters flat, the plot full of holes. The writing seemed juvenile to me. The sex scenes to the point I quit were boring. To many things happened that were just too convenient, from escaping town to country to avoid aliens, to parents probably dead to not dead, etc. The characters never really seemed to show emotion, other that what the author says they are doing. The breaking point for me was the android she created calling them mommy & daddy, it was just too weird in a bizarre way. I just didn't like any of it. Did not feel like wasting any more time to finish this when I didn't care for the characters or the plot. Wish I could get my time that I did spend reading this (before quitting) back. I don't believe I'll try more books by this author.

First I must say that I loved the White Queen with Sysco's sister Joon and her five mates. This book about Sysco and Freda is just as good, if not better. I laughed my butt off from the time Sysco met Freda and entered his thrall. He was trying so hard to follow all the human dating rituals and it was hilarious. Her sister, Lottie, is entranced with everything Draxos and over the moon that Sysco wants Freda. Now, if only Freda felt the same way. I was head over heels in love with Violet and Danny. This book is outstanding for lovers of dragons, romance, and AI's, with a bit of military intrigue. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I loved the little robots...

When I read the first chapter in the book, I thought ‘Star Trek’ which made me laugh. This was an interesting, well thought out book. I would recommend it. The characters were interesting and the chemistry between Freda and Sysko was good, however it seemed to take ages for them to mate and for Freda to transform into a dragon (the whole process). There was also a lot of sex/foreplay which is possibly a bit much for me. I did enjoy Freda’s specialisation in AI and the little robots she built. Hopefully the author might also write a book for Lottie next (Freda’s sister).

Yum!

Cyborgs, Sexy Alien Dragon Hunters, one very stubborn human woman, and more, this story is terrific! All Freda wants to for life to go back to normal, but sexy Sysko has other ideas, he wants her for his mate! Freda is grateful that the Draxos have saved humanity, but that does not mean she wants to mate one and transform into a dragon shifter herself! But the more time they spend together, the mere she can feel herself falling for the sexy alien. What choice will she make in the end?

Cyborgs attacking earth and Dragon shifters protecting humans. Freda, MIT robotics student, just wants to finish her dissertation and earn her doctorate when this attack occurs. Admiral Sysko D’Fray, leader of the Draxos army, has discovered some human females might be able to save his species from extinction and Freda is his mate. Can he convince her to be his and defeat the Cyborgs? Romance, shifters and danger.

A great read This one's all about Joon's Brother, Admiral Sysko D'Fray.
He is a trained warrior, with an abundance of confidence and courage as battles against the Cyborgs.

But when it comes to human women he definitely could do with some lessons in romancing. The Admiral may have found his true mate but can he persuade her to give him a chance

Sysco and Freya have

the sweetest love affair with a lot of "va va vroom." They end up being such a cute couple, but don't let that fool you! There's cyborg action and space action and some very other interesting things that happen in this book that you just have to read it because I don't want to give anything away. Suffice it to say, the numbers 13 and 5 are very important to Sysco and Freya! A great ride and a must read with 5 thumbs up!

What a fantastic spin-off of the White Queen. I wasn't expecting to laugh my butt off though. Man Sysco was trying so hard to bring his A game to woo Freda and failing miserably to follow all the human dating rituals. But it was really cute that he was willing to do all that to win Freda heart. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Dragon dates by human customs, lol.

What an adventure! After the first reverse harem books I didn't know what to expect. This story was consistently fascinating as Scarlett's other books. Bringing together an alien invasion, missing parents, an admiral in love and a teenage sister with a few more surprises was absolutely entertaining. Once I got past boy meets girl, I couldn't stop reading. Get captured by the Draxos with this new series.

An excellent story to get lost in

Wow. This story drew me in from the beginning with interesting plot lines, full characters and a love that had to be worked for. There were small things that distracted me, like the repetition of the aliens history and the disappearing professor, but they did not impede my enjoyment of the story. I stayed up late to finish it in one sitting, it was so good!

interesting story-line, good character development and paced well. i loved how freya developed little androids that ended up having a soul and being loyal to humans while also wanting to help stop the cyborgs. that little plot twist added some humour and humanity to the story seeing as how the other androids/cyborgs were evil and just wanted to assimilate other species turning them into cyborgs rather like the Borg on the Star Trek show.
i quite enjoyed this book.

A beautiful well written story that is the second book of the Brides of Draxos series . I enjoyed reading this book from the first page until the last one. There is a set of numbers that are important to both Admiral Sysko D'Fray, leader of the Draxos army and to MIT robotics student Freda Hayes. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it

Ok...

It seemed disjointed - the story started well enough then the dialog became disconnected. The love scenes were not but everything else became dry and unimportant.... fillers. So much of the dialog it seems was added to increase the wording number. I would not recommend this book.

Best suited for young adult readers because it lacked some maturity. It was also predictable so it was a non-climatic read, meaning nothing much to look forward to except for the “children.” That was clever and that’s where the maturity factor really came into play.

Stilted

I don’t know if I can adequately explain it, but the story just doesn’t flow well. It seems stilted and slightly juvenile. The whole android thing seems to come out of left field and is completely unbelievable.
