In public, I'm as crisp and smooth as an apple made of ice. But in private... I'm burning up with lust. And it's all thanks to her: Cora Bradbury . Her red hair smells like cinnamon, her wild curves have just as much spice. She's supposed to be an intern at my company but she acts like her real job is making my pants too tight. I'd love to show her how dangerous it is to flirt with me... But she's the daughter of my best friend and co-worker. Touching Cora would cause a scandal that would throw everything I've worked for into the garbage. My enemies would jump at the chance to ruin me. So I know better than to go near this barely eighteen year old. I think I can control myself. I'm sure I'll stay strong. Until we're left alone in my office late one night. Then I find out just how spicy Cora really is.
This is a standalone novella with a HEA and NO cheating! Penny Wylder writes just that-- wild romances. Happily Ever Afters are always better when they're a little dirty, so if you're looking for a page turner that will make you feel naughty in all the right places, jump right in and leave your panties at the door!
I️ loved this!!!!! The funny thing is as much as I️ love this author when I️ first saw this book I️ thought, hmmmm, another dads friend story but this book was soooo awesome:)
As usual, I️t was a quick read filled with the insta trifecta of love, lust and hotness!!!!
I️ adored the quick relationship of Michael and Cora and selfishly would have loved a longer book on them but this was just as perfect for a Sunday read!!!!!!
Pretty good. Friends daughter. Boss and intern. You think the story is just about these two sneaking around and getting naughty, but then a side plot reveals itself and you’re like WOAH!
All in all another good Penny Wylder read. Quick, smutty, and fun.
So I need a palate cleanser. Since my favourite tropes are age-gap (hello daddy issues) and taboo relationship, I decided to give it a go. It's short, it's spicy, it's not too taboo actually. Told 90 percent from the guy's POV, he falls in lust (and then love) to his business partner's estranged daughter. The girl is not painted as innocent little kitten, so that's good even though she's only 20. There's a dom-sub relationship in this and it is such a miss opportunity to me because I think this book would become sooo much better is the powerful older man by day becomes a sub to his younger less experienced girlfriend. Just my two cents. Oh yeah and there's no OW/OM drama.
Easy quick reading. When I saw the book's title I thought, ok just another dad-friend story... but it was really funny, easy and sexy. So the older guy younger intern was good for a short insta-love/lust reading
This is the story of an older man/younger woman (Michael and Cora) who met and there was this instant chemistry. Only thing is Cora is Michael’s business partner’s daughter and she is their new intern. The story was more about the chemistry between Michael and Cora and the hot passion they had which translated to the great sex scenes they had. Now as for the plot, it came off as a bit flimsy or weak but in this case, the steamy passion the main characters made up for it. I completely disliked Cora’s father and Michael’s business partner Jack. I wish there was some followup as to what happened to him … Jack was a busy boy and not a good business partner…. I would have liked to hear what became of him but overall, this was a good story , just would have liked to see more plot –It just seemed the characters jumped into bed alittle too quick but like I said, I liked Cora and Michael. They were spicy, funny, sexy, sweet and a bit real which made this story come off as real, not fake so that is why I do like this story. I really disliked the character of Jack.
My Rating: 4.3 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
A dirty office romance with a little conspiracy thrown in the middle.
Completely told from the man's point of view, I found it refreshing, and just perfect with that epilogue full of banter and romantic mischief.
The male character is the epitome of good, hardworking business man who is tempted beyond endurance by a young, redheaded bombshell. The author manages really well to show his misgivings as well as his utter fascination with an intern he shouldn't be coveting. I think this novella is quite different from all the others I've read by this author which shows she can reinvent herself quite creatively.
I also enjoyed this couple's dynamics as they experiment together about domination and spankings for the first time. The conflict is not emotional this time, but it's rooted in the business. Great idea for a change of pace.
Lots of dirty steamy times, good writing style, and the fun is guaranteed.
This story is short, fast paced and an ok read. I liked parts of this story but not the whole thing. The only thing I seemed to like about the story was the hero. He was down to earth and a good guy. I wasn’t a fan of Cora. From the moment she was introduced, she irritated me a little. I didn’t mind that she was confident and got what she wanted but at times I wanted her to at least be a little shy. I wasn’t a fan of Jack. From the moment he was introduced into the story, I wasn’t a fan. I hated the way he left Michael out of business decisions when they were both the owners. My hate for him only grew as the story progressed. I liked that it all worked out for Michael and Cora in the end. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an easy read.
When his best friends daughter shows up out of the blue, he knew immediately things were going to change but never could’ve imagined all that lay in wait. Interesting read, not my favorite of the genre but it was well written.
Michael Foster walks into work one day to find an alluring redhead waiting at reception. Running late for a meeting with his business partner, Jack, he’s unable to meet her. That is, until Jack is introducing said redhead, Cora, to Michael as their new intern - and his daughter.
There’s a lot of sex. The plot is thin, but what’s there is interesting. Michael and Cora don’t spend much time getting to know each other… at least, non-sexually. Getting a feel for their love is difficult, but their physical chemistry is powerful and convincing.
It’s a quick, entertaining read that’ll come in handy if you’re trying to ‘get in the mood’.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve inadvertently spent all weekend reading smutty novellas and guess what? IT WAS AWESOME.
this one has my favorite taboo romance, older guy and younger girl and older guy is friends with the girls dad. Michael is 35 and is a billionaire. He works with his partner who brings in his long lost daughter Cora (20) to intern for the summer.
He’s instantly attracted to her and she totally shows that she reciprocates. He tries to fight it but we all know how that works out lol
This book was hot! Had some light bdsm and surprisingly there was some intrigue and suspense too! The ending wasn’t just them being able to be together, there was more to the story and it was exciting to read!
A sexy, quick read that will get you all hot and bothered!!!
Michael is in business with Jack. Eight years spent together building their company. They are friends and colleagues.
At a business meeting Cora walks in! Michael sees her and can't keep his eyes off! Instant attraction and he's not subtle. But there's a complication; she's their new intern! She's 20 and happens to be Jack's daughter! What? Michael had no idea he had a daughter.
Sparks fly and boundaries are crossed. A secret romance and a business partner full of deceit! Get ready to enjoy this steamy romance! I hope you like it a little naughty😉 *I received this book as an ARC. Sent from my iPhone
Oh Penny, you went all in with this one! Wow! My E-reader about overheated. Older man/younger woman but it doesn’t stop these two! Wanting your close friends daughter is bad but when said friend is also your business partner things could get sticky. Penny Wylder went there and delivered on this hot Office romance that is sure to keep you warm! I give this an “A” bc yes, she went there too or should I say He!!!!
Michael Foster has the hots for the new intern in his office, that is until he finds out that Cora is his business partner’s daughter. But the sparks continue to fly between the two. But is this a relationship that can survive? Or will it divide the two business men and dissolve the company? With great characters and a storyline that was a quick page turner, once again Penny Wylder does not disappoint.
A fast read, but not too fast. Fantastic quickie tho. A little bit different than the typical trope for this in that the h is also a strong willed and smart woman. Not too much drama, but just enough. Great H. The chemistry was hotter than Texas in June! Enjoyed it. Received an earlier version and this is what I really thought of it.
An Intriguing, Emotionally Secure Power Play Romance...
As I've mentioned in an earlier review, I've been on a bit of a Penny Wylder kick this month. She is my go-to taboo queen when things get a bit mundane and I need something quick and hot as sin to brighten my world a tad. And I'm sure you will agree, 2020 can use every ounce of brightening we can find!
Wylder almost never disappoints, and "Dating My Friend's Daughter" is no exception. The tantalizing story of Michael and Cora, Michael being the thirty-five year old billionaire business mogul. A man driven by his desire to make the company he cofounded with his best friend as successful as it can be. And Cora, the twenty year old college senior and computer science major. A fiery, passionate woman brought on as an intern by her father, who unbeknownst to Michael, just so happens to be his best friend and business partner. What follows is a delicious delve into the world of corporate hijinks, sabotage, gorgeously sexy dialogue, and a tiny tantalizing taste of sadomasochism.
This one will grab you by the panties and thrust you forward at almost break neck speed into a magnetic atmosphere of roleplay and bedroom banter. Here Wylder pens a wildly frenetic story full of wonderfully strong, emotionally intelligent, and independent characters. Characters that will both enthrall you and keep you on the edge of your seat with their deliciously biting give and take.
My only complaint, I wish is was a bit longer and the s/m aspect fleshed out more. The underlying dynamic between Michael and Cora is fascinating and sexy as hell, I would have loved to have had it explored in more detail, especially near the end. Regardless of this aspect, it is another great addition by Wylder to her growing list of yumminess.
Dating My Friend's Daughter was about Michael Foster and Cora Bradbury. Michael and his friend, Jack Warner, had started their business eight years earlier and owned one of the top apps for men's tailored clothing. The two had been friends for at least ten years, but Michael, who was 35 years old, didn't know that Jack had a twenty-year-old daughter until she walked into a meeting between Jack and himself. Apparently, his friend had supposedly just met her two years earlier and he told Michael he had offered her an internship with their company. Although Michael had been introduced to her in the meeting, he had seen her shortly before and without knowing who she was, had all but ogled her...and was ogled by her in return. It took just a short time for things to click between the two main characters. This short story had a lot of angst and drama, but it had more steam and spice that kept it from going too OTT. There was a touch of suspense with an added villain(ness) to keep the reader wondering what would happen next. The emotional rollercoaster didn't have the usual twists and turns, but it had enough to be enjoyable. It was also unusual because it was written from the MMC's POV only...until the final epilogue. The two main characters were both well-developed and each had a maturity and depth that one doesn't normally find in such a story, which was a good difference to have for a change. Both the MMC and the FMC were strong characters. There was no wimpy hero and no doormat heroine. They both knew what they wanted and they went after it. It was a nice change of pace for once. Because of how good the characters were, I gave this story a five-star rating.
This book was AMAZING! It starts by Michael noticing a beautiful, curvy receptionist on the way to a meeting with Jack, his long term business partner and friend. Jack introduces Michael to his new intern, Cora, who is Jack's newly discovered daughter. Immediately sparks fly between Cora and Michael. Even when Michael tries his hardest to ignore the attraction but in the end they end up in a whirlwind romance. And that Romance is so HOT! (Yes my Kindle melted!🔥🔥) Cora is everything Michael didn't realize he wanted: determined, beautiful, sexy, naughty, etc. The only thing standing in their way is Jack and their company, Tailor Me. Throughout the story, we see Michael and Jack go through a number of problems and turmoil begins to take hold. This book had all the right stuff! There are steamy sex scenes, BDSM, trouble, love, and pain. So if these things appeal to at all then this book is definitely for you! I HIGHLY recommend this book!! I hope that maybe we see an extended epilogue from Penny because I want more.
He never expected to fall for his business partner's daughter.
I received an ARC for this book.
Third book this written pretty much entirely from his point of view I have to say I love this book. He sees the gorgeous redhead in the waiting room at his office never expecting her to be the new summer intern and his business partners daughter. Finding out who she is puts her in his firmly off-limits category. That last for all those two days. She may be 15 years younger than him but she understands him better than anybody else. Their relationship dynamic rocks. She loves to be punished and he finds that he loves to punish her. They explore the fine line between Pleasure and Pain. This is a book that I could read over and over again.
This book just was not my style so it was a DNF for me. It’s I really enjoy the dating my best friends daughter trope but this one came off as weird and not taboo. He didn’t even know his best friend of 10 years had a daughter because the bf didn’t find out until she was a young adult. Also, the best friend doesn’t really treat Cora like a daughter so I don’t know why he would care if she got together with Michael. I mean, he’s pimping her out to investors with a smile on his face. Besides that Cora acts more like a 30 year old seductress than a 20 year old college student. The whole thing was odd and uninteresting. I rarely ever DNF books, especially when they’re as short as this, but I decided I didn’t want to waste my time.
Characters = 3/5 Plot = 4/5 Romance = 4/5 Mystery = 2/5 Action = 2/5 Darkness = 0/5 Humor = 0/5 Stars = 4 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Would I recommend this book = Yes Would I read future books by this author = Yes
Characters were good. Cora was spicy and very outgoing. She took charge on several occasions. Michael was loveable. Older, sweet, and always wanted to make sure Cora was taken care of. I really read Cora wrong in the beginning. I really thought she was going to be trouble.
Plot was good with a decent twist towards the end.
This was a good read. I liked the little surprise turn that the relationship between Michael & Cora took. They were explosive together. I thought the ending of the conflict between Michael & Jack was really rushed, like the author just wanted to get it over with. That said, it was only a minor issue and did not stop me from enjoying the book. My favorite part was that the whole a story, except the epilogue, was told from Michael's POV. It's very rare to see that, but so enjoyable.
As always, I love a sexy story from Penny, but this might be one of my favorites! While Cora is younger, she's smart, confident and definitely not meek! Michael is older, her father's successful business partner, but not overly cocky. I loved that their physical relationship evolved as they learned (together) what they liked to try. That angle is refreshing, and made a good story even better. I totally recommend this one with 4.5 stars!
I am a die hard Penny Wylder fan. Her books are one of my favorite go-to choices before I fall asleep at night or when I am sitting in the parking lot of my children’s schools waiting for them to be dismissed for the day. This story lacked a lot of everything! The whole “blackmail” scheme was ridiculous as well as using his daughter to seduce potential business partners mad me fee icky! I felt empty after reading it.
This was one quick and steamy read. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. Despite the age gap between the main characters, I thought that the author had made them work really well together and I didn't notice this at all unless it was mentioned in the story. It didn't seem to be the main focal point which is good because it didn't detract from the story then. I loved that it was all in the male's POV; it felt good for a change.
This wasn’t a bad book. It was really just a book about sex and older man and a younger woman wears the guy was only 35 the girl was 20 I guess that is a difference but not that much. It’s up to you guys he started the business together and one guy he’s destroying it and that her father and she hasn’t seen in 18 years. Who is also the other guys best friend list he thought he was. So overall the book was pretty good
