Possibly God chooses authors like Mary DeMuth to listen to what readers need so that His healing words can reach each and every one of us. Jesus Every Day was born in part by DeMuth asking the simple question "Mind if I pray for you?"...and then she listened. To each and every individual prayer, which I suppose would become quite heavy without interacting with God who then breathed His grace into her writing and onto the pages of Jesus Every Day. A prayer a day for the entire year will take you through every book of the bible chronologically, but you can begin whenever you get the book. Jesus Every Day delivers daily Prayers to Awaken Your Soul and to remind you that God is always listening if you only dare to ask...will you pray for me.

“Sometimes I strain my heart toward heaven to hear from you, only to realize that you’ve profoundly relocated the Tabernacle/Temple from a physical place on earth to an entirely different physical place—inside me. Your Spirit not only enlivens me, but he speaks with me, offering the daily encouragement I need.” Mary DeMuth, Jesus Every Day

In a world of constant rushing, packed out schedules, and experts clamoring to teach us how to best make use of our time and talents, Jesus Every Day is a welcome invitation to pause for a moment at the feet of One who knows what it’s like to have the world demanding our immediate attention.

In Jesus Every Day, Mary DeMuth allows herself to be open and vulnerable about the fears, concerns, and daily struggles that are so common to most of us at some point in time or another. Beginning in Genesis and ending in Revelation, each day begins with a brief passage from Scripture followed by a personal prayer that reflects a desire to draw deeper in a relationship with the Creator.

Each prayer is written in Mary’s personal voice, but they are presented in such a way that readers can’t help but say, “Me, too!”

It is rare that I recommend a devotional book, and rarer still for me to review one. However, after reading through a sample of the first 30 entries in Jesus Every Day I’ve come away confident that this is one book of prayers I can suggest to friends, family, and strangers without any hesitation.

Jesus Every Day is available for purchase beginning December 1, 2017, but it is available for pre-order now through major book retailers and your local Christian book store.

Would you like to have a closer walk with the Lord but don’t known how? I certainly have, and the last thing my pride wants to do is ask someone to show me. Jesus Every Day is a beautiful prayer book, and the prayers are not too long or too short. I have been using the 30-day Sampler from Harvest House Publishers. Mary Demuth offers us a page a day to help us pray. That’s all. Not even a full page, so that anyone can come to Jesus with it. She shows us how to enter that place of grace at Jesus’ throne.

Jesus Every Day is shares scripture and prayers to open honest communication with our Lord. It doesn’t have to take the place of any devotional one might be using but will, instead, enhance them. She takes scripture verses from every book in the Bible and shares a prayer that helps make the Bible more meaningful. She further combines the best prayers via thanksgiving and praise, awareness of sin and repentance, and asking for daily needs. And grace. Beautiful grace rather than shame and condemnation.

Mary Demuth’s unique style and heart cries echo that of many women, including me. She has an open heart and style based on tendering through her life experiences and the ministry God has given her. The prayers can be complete unto themselves or provide excellent starters to explore further in a quiet time.

The introduction includes a prayer of Mary’s for those reading the introduction (page 5 in 30-day Sampler):

“Jesus, I pray for the dear person reading this prayer. Would you woo them to yourself? Would you bring peace into whatever chaos they face today? Would you show them how deeply and widely (and wildly) you love them? … you are there. You are available. You offer grace to approach you...”

There are no dates to tie oneself to. She begins with Day 1, Day 2, and so forth through 366 days. One doesn’t have to feel s/he missed a day or two, then give up on it because there are too many to catch up with. Maybe I’m the only one who has done that? This can also be used over and over as each day’s prayer can open something different in us in the following years. I highly recommend Jesus Every Day.

From a grateful heart: I received a copy of the 30-day sampler, including the introduction and first 30 days, from the author, and here is my honest review.

Jesus Every Day is a new daily devotional from Mary E. DeMuth that will be released Dec 1st and you are invited to preorder.
http://www.jesuseveryday.life.

I'm reading the Sampler provided by Harvest House Publishers and have already wept some "me too" tears.

There are no holier-than-thou prayers, but plenty of true-to-life prayers that will mend your heart, awaken your soul, and allow your spirit to soar.

Most importantly these prayers will connect you with the heart of God.

My favorite part is there is no "getting behind" because these one-page devotional prayers are not dated. Such a grace in these busy times.

You can start the day you receive it and continue praying the simple prayers wherever you find yourself and whenever you pick it back up.

When you pray the final prayer, you will also have "prayed through the Bible" as the daily Bible verse begins in Genesis and ends in Revelation. Mary wanted the reader to have an overarching understanding of the heart of God and his redemptive story.

I love that it is releasing December 1st--during the Advent season when our focus turns to The One who made all of this possible.

This book would be a thoughtful gift to arrive on the doorstep of a loved one who may struggle through the holiday season, as so many do.

If you’ve ever felt like your prayers have become cliché, like they’re not truly communicating the depths of your heart, this book is for you. This is a great tool for connect your heart with Jesus.

This devotional is chock full of beautiful prayers. I wish I had it a few years ago when I had a difficult time praying. The author put to words feelings I’ve had but were unable to express to God.

I appreciated the vulnerability. The prayers are humble, not pompous or superfluous. I appreciated the honest confession of some of the prayers. Each prayer has a one word title and a key scripture as a jumping off point.

I also loved that the book and the key scriptures move chronologically through the Bible.

The 366-page book isn’t formatted to begin Jan. 1, so if you want to start reading the Bible chronologically and want a devotional to coincide, this book will make a great addition to your bookshelf.

If you know a friend who is struggling to connect with Jesus, this book would make an excellent gift.

Mary DeMuth is one of the most honest and soul-tugging authors that I have read. Her thoughts in [[ASIN:0736971017 Jesus Every Day: A Journey Through the Bible in One Year]] will fill your thoughts throughout the day. Take time to read about #JesusEveryDay and allow the miracle of His life be the healing in yours.

This book is one you will want to sit down and devour. I recommend you savor each delicious tidbit daily. Read it along with the Bible for an even deeper study experience. Written as a series of prayers, Mary's words draw you deeper into scripture and reflecting on the life of Christ. My copy is marked, highlighted, underlined, note-filled. Its messages spoke to me in a special way as I read, contemplated, and prayed. It's a book that I'll return to again and again.

If you are looking for a personal gift for someone in your life, choose Jesus Every Day. If you need an infusion of prayer and reflection, choose Jesus Every Day.

Jesus Every Day is a must have if you are longing to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus. Everyday that I read this devotional it ministers to the exact area in my life I've been struggling with, or praying about. It's divinely inspired & so different from most devotionals, in that it isn't so much God speaking to us but more us speaking to Him. I gain so much inspiration & comfort from these daily devotions. When I read them I can almost be transported back to the Garden of Eden Where God came & walked with Adam & Eve daily!! Can you just imagine having Him come into your home every day through these devotions & walk with you through whatever your day is serving up!! Want real closeness with God the Father? Get your copy of Jesus Every Day & begin a fresh new journey!!!

Mary DeMuth has written 366 prayers that thus-far (I'm 30 days into "Jesus Every Day") have expressed exactly what my heart desires to pray about to Jesus. Mary has a way of capturing the desires, needs, requests, struggles, pain, and desperation of my heart and helps me to share them with Jesus on a daily basis. And I am able to walk through the Bible over a year's time with my focus on Jesus and hearing from His Word in ways that bring healing, refreshment and joy to my weary heart. Thank you, Jesus, for speaking through Mary's prayers for me and others who will be reading this meditative book!

“Mind if I pray for you?”

Have you ever promised to pray for someone, then you walked away and forgot that promise? Maybe someone made that promise to you, and you wondered if they ever really prayed. Then, you encountered someone who took the time out of their busy day and offered a prayer out loud on your behalf. Are you that person?

In her devotional book, Jesus Every Day, Mary DeMuth, offers us 366 written prayers that will encourage you with her prayers and inspire you to follow her lead as you intercede for others.

In this Devotional, Mary Demuth shares from every single book in the Bible. She has such a beautiful way of breaking the scriptures down into a beautiful prayer that applies to our everyday lives. These prayers really do awaken your soul! And instead of putting dates at the top of each page, she goes by Day 1, Day 2, etc. I love this because if I do get behind I don't have to try and read everything quickly to catch up! I've already bought a few for Christmas gifts and have thought of others I need to buy this for!

Mary DeMuth is a treasure in whom so much good is stored up. In her latest book, Jesus Everyday, you will feast on this goodness all year long. Mary expresses her heart to God on each of these pages, and you and I are invited not only to listen in, but JOIN in. Mary's words help us to get in touch with our own hearts and begin bringing them, raw and honest, to Jesus for His healings and dealings :). This book brings wholeness. Buy it. Read it. Enter it. Pray it.

Jesus Every Day offers comforting -- yet challenging -- responses to God's Word. The devotional provides a daily verse and corresponding personal prayer based on insights from the Scripture.

I said challenging because the prayers dig deep into the heart's struggles and yearnings. I said comforting because the devotional draws the reader's (the prayer's) soul to the throne of God for peace and perspective.

This is a devotional I will use again and again.

Jesus Every Day? Yes please! I want Jesus in my life every single day. Mary DeMuth has written a compelling daily devotional book to help you start the conversation (or prayer!) each day with Jesus. Her way with words moves my heart closer to my Lord and King so I can have an honest, heartfelt conversation with Him. Expect your heart to be moved closer to Jesus too. Thank you Mary.

A year-long conversation with JESUS!

Only I did it in half a year. Guided by a daily Scripture, Mary DeMuth prays an honest, reverent, prayer that I joined, making it my own. It has been rich and satisfying prayer journey. I have given this book as a gift to many, and I have received heartfelt thanks from a 15-year-old, a 93-year-old and many in between.

I received this book during the holiday season, and honestly, I laid it aside. The holidays (Thanksgiving-Christmas) are difficult for me. I tend to be sad during these weeks that should be joyful. I lost 5 family members from Thanksgiving to Christmas just a handful of years ago and grief is such a tricky thing.

Having read Mary's past works, I knew this book would challenge me and stir me. And I didn't want to be challenged or stirred. I wanted to grieve in peace. Oh, my humanity! I made it through another holiday season and in putting the decorations away, I found this book that I'd promised to read and review. And I read the first 30 entries in one sitting. Oh that I could always remember that being challenged and stirred by His Word and grace is less painful than staying buried in my grief!

Mary writes with a clear voice-she writes as if she's simply sitting with you, sipping tea and talking to her best friend. Her words never fail to move me and this devotional is no exception. I'm weeping from reading Day 14 out loud to my husband.

A favorite thing about the book is that the entries aren't dated. You can start at any point in the year and be right on track.

I know this book will change lives-prayer lives will reach a new dimension as you pray these gripping words for yourself. Prepare to be challenged and changed!

Powerful, honest and soulful. These themes run through all of Mary DeMuth's writing. Jesus Every Day is an example in taking the first (or last) moments of the day to spend time talking to Jesus. Knowing Him, asking Him what He wants for our lives...each day's prayer is meaningful without being too long, heart touching while being direct...talents that Mary deftly uses in this new devotional. This would be a phenomenal gift for anyone and gives us each the reminders we need to live our lives to best serve Him. Mary has such a kind way of sharing what's on her heart and also directs us ever closer to the Jesus that KNOWS our hearts. She never disappoints! You may want to linger on the page and take notes, highlight, etc. Having your Bible nearby also continues to draw the reader to investigate the people mentioned in the stories in Jesus Every Day.

*For full disclosure, I was given a short sampler for free in exchange for my honest review. All statements above are mine. I am proud to have been included in the early readers' group!*

This prayer devotional has helped me to focus and truly expect Jesus every day.

I love that the prayers feel like an outpouring of my own heart. They feel personal and intimate. With each prayer, Mary DeMuth both boldly and humbly proclaims the desire of our heart to seek Christ. Her words resonate and I have highlighted and marked pieces of every prayer so far. Through these prayers, I am finding myself continuing the conversation with Jesus and thanking him throughout my day.

The 366 days are not dated, so you can start at anytime. There is one word and one Bible verse at the top of each page starting with Genesis and going through the entire Bible to Revelation. The word and verse for each day sets the stage for that day’s beautiful, brave and eloquent prayer that will stir your heart to be intentional to look for Him and to listen for His gentle whisper.

“Jesus Every Day” is a devotional for 366 days, that moves from Genesis to Revelation. It’s available in hard copy and electronic versions. Each day has a scripture passage and then the author’s response. In this way, it is the opposite of books like “Jesus Speaks,” where the Holy Spirit speaks to the reader.

A different feature is that the days are only numbered not dated. Thus you can start on any date and work through. I’ll share a secret just between us. If you want to take two days to ponder a passage, you have that liberty. And ... if you should happen to miss a reading one day (not that you would) ... just pick it up again. I promise not to tell if you take longer.

Mary models a personal response to the revelation. For example on Day 4 (Genesis 12:8) it speaks of Abram pitching his tent between Bethel (the house of God) and Ai (the Canaanite heap of ruins). Mary then prays, “Jesus ... What a picture of my life on this earth. Help me understand the pull of both — of spending time in the house of God, yet venturing out into the world to be a beacon of your light.” This is a challenge all believers face — how to be in the world but not of it. Thank you Mary for voicing and praying this for us.

For each day, the reader can then either use Mary’s response to prayerfully interact with God. Or it can be a springboard to ask the question: “Lord, what would you say to me through this passage?” What I’ve found helpful for me is to ask this question and journal the responses the Holy Spirit brings, cresting a record of His faithfulness.

What I like about this resource is that it challenges people to relate back to God. This is not a book of cookie-cutter prayers but has clearly been wrought out in the furnace of life and over an extended period. These are not just prayers. They are a testimony — the records of a life journey, wrestling with difficult questions.

Mary’s honesty and vulnerability challenges us as well, for us also to be honest and vulnerable. First with ourselves (the hardest often) and then with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit then shows us Jesus, who points us to the Father. The book becomes a dunamis way to enter into the perichoresis of Trinity Life.

In the second edition, it could be helpful to have a list of scriptures used and/or put the scriptures by the chapter titles in the Table of Contents. It would be nice to know how the passages were chosen. But, these are minor points. They do not detract from what is otherwise a much needed, excellent and powerful resource to equip the body of Christ to interact with God. And by so interacting, the bride will become transformed into the likeness of her bridegroom and take up her authority.

Let me encourage you to get “Jesus Every Day” as I know it will help you to hear and to speak with Jesus every day.

Mary Demuth pours out her soul to the Lord in her beautifully written 366-day devotional “Jesus Every Day”. I love how she bares her soul, honestly and authentically. Her calls to Jesus speak to places in my own soul. ”Jesus Every Day” is not dated so you can begin anywhere and anytime, which I love that there is no falling behind or catching up. The author’s words are pleas to the Lord for compassion, grace, understanding, and forgiveness in our humanness, our imperfections, our everyday messes.

“Jesus Every Day” is 366 daily prayers with supporting Bible verses that will take you through every book of the Bible which gives you an understanding of God’s heart for us. Mary Demuth’s prayers are spoken from the depths of her soul and touch on relatable seasons of our lives. As you read through you can say, “yes, I have felt that way too, I am not alone in this.”

A few of my many favorite prayer quotes from Jesus Every Day by Mary Demuth are:

“I choose to forgive those who have hurt me deeply. Not because it’s easy, but because you ask me to.”

“Forgive me when I desperately try to be almighty in my own small strength. Forgive me when I worship at the altar of controlling-everything-in-my-life. I don’t want to do that anymore. I am tired, Jesus. Tired of trying to manufacture mightiness.”

“Show me where my mountain is today, Jesus. Where do I need to lay my Isaac down? What do I trust in more than I trust in you? What is keeping me from fully, wholeheartedly following you and obeying your voice? Show me, even if I tremble as I ask this.”

I loved “Jesus Every Day”. It has become part of my daily devotional reading and it soothes my soul. Mary’s words awakened my spirit and allowed me to be more vulnerable when I am spending time with Jesus. Her raw and genuine prayers are rich with emotion, faith, inspiration, and a deep love for the Lord. Mary’s honest, tender heart and beautiful way of praying to the Lord sets her devotional apart. I love the authenticity and the fact that you go through each book of the Bible as you read through it. “Jesus Every Day” is a heartfelt journey with the Lord. I am confident that this will become one of your favorite devotional’s as it is mine.

I don't remember when I was first acquainted with Mary DeMuth's book but each one has been a blessing.

I was recently blessed to be on the launch team for her newest book (released December 1, 2017), Jesus Every Day.  This book is like no other book you've read or even heard about.

You've heard about Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. Jesus Every Day is similar but at the same time completely different.

Mary DeMuth loves to pray. At the end of her emails she always asks, "Mind if I pray for you?" and then she writes out a prayer of blessing. My life has been blessed, challenged, and touched by those prayers. The lives of others have also been blessed as many people over the past few years have encouraged her to put these prayers into a book. For two years Mary sought a publisher who would accept an unconventional book like this and the people at Harvest House caught her vision and Jesus Every Day was birthed in book form.

Jesus Every Day is designed much like a devotional with daily readings. The book has 365 prayers starting in Genesis and going through Revelation. The days are labeled Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 etc, rather than January 1, January 2, January 3 so the reader can start at the beginning any day.

This book has opened my eyes and heart to see more of my Jesus and His actions for me. I have, through Mary's prayers, been able to see Jesus in a whole new light. He has used these prayers to broaden my vision.

If you would like Mary to pray over, for, and with you, get this book! You can find it at your local Christian bookstore or your favorite online retailer. You might want to get several copies as you will want to give some away to friends and family.

I have been a long time follower of Mary DeMuth's writing and I have personally been blessed by her 'mind if I pray for you' prayers at the close of her monthly newsletters. Her prayers are real everyday prayers that get to the heart of our day to day struggles and victories. In this new prayer devotional, Mary has once again set out to bless others through her ability to meet us where we are in her prayers. These are the kinds of prayers that we need to hear when we just can't seem to find the right words ourselves.

I especially love that this devotional is not dated. You can just begin the day you receive the book and follow along, guilt-free, even if you miss a day or two because the date is not right up there at the top of the page reminding you that you are lagging behind. Just pick up where you left off and begin again.

Each day you begin with a scripture and then follow along in prayer with Mary as she has written such real and heartfelt prayers that you cannot help but connect as you read. Simple. From Genesis to Revelation, the devotional moves through each book of the Bible so that when you finally get to the last prayer you will have an overarching feeling for the great redemptive story of God's plan.

If you are looking for a simple plan to pray through the Bible this year or you just need encouragement in your prayer life, this is your book.

I have read the 30 Day Sampler provided by Harvest House Publishers and was blessed as Mary's prayers became my own.

For several years, I've been the recipient of Mary's email newsletters that end with, "Mind if I pray for you?" followed by a heartfelt prayer that always seems to speak just the right words. In Jesus Every Day, Mary's prayers become our own prayers, and once again, by the mystery and grace of God's spirit, those words touch deep places within. Each devotional begins with a Bible verse, and Mary masterfully weaves the thoughts into the prayer for the day.

I'm an ENFP with ADHD (if you don't know what that is, you can skip to the next paragraph), so I especially like the undated pages. There's no obvious reminder when I've missed a day or two, or eighteen, and therefore, no shame. Only grace-filled words waiting to help me connect more deeply with God. That, is Mary's heart for each reader. Not perfection. Communion.

This book has been prayed over both in the writing, and in the publication and launching processes. Disclosure: I was in the prayer team for the book launch and received a free galley copy for the purpose of praying and offering a review. My review is still my honest opinion of this work, sure to be a devotional classic. Guess what many of my friends will be getting this year for Christmas?

Jesus Every Day is a wonderful companion to any Bible study. The devotion can begin any time of the year, and takes the reader through the entire Bible. Day 1 begins with Genesis 1, and Day 366 ends the devotion with a verse from Revelation 22. Each day begins with a single verse or short passage and is followed by a heart-felt prayer. Mary is familiar with heartache and so each prayer is born from the joys and sorrows of real life. No flowery language. Each reading takes only a few moments, but I know of some who've chosen to additionally read the full passage in the Bible for further study (although this isn't necessary.) There is also space at the bottom of many pages should you wish to journal your own thoughts or additional prayers. This book will instill within the reader a greater understanding of the heart of God. It also mirrors how prayer is part of an intimate relationship with God through simple communication. Because of this, Jesus Every Day would make a wonderful gift for a new believer or a seeker.
