Will love be enough to bring A miracle for Christmas?

Hotshot attorney Ellen Meade seems to have it all: a powerful position with her firm, a posh downtown apartment, and a bright future ahead of her. But for Ellen, the future grows dimmer with each passing day. Her apartment is lonely without her best friend, and the demands of her job are slowly killing her soul. She’s simply surviving until she bumps into a police officer who changes everything.

If this book doesn’t magically put the Christmas sprit into your heart, then you’re just a Scrooge by nature. Shanna Hatfield’s Saving Mistletoe is the perfect blend of heartfelt drama, spontaneous encounters, and hopeless romance, all rolled up into one exceptional book.
I don’t know how she does it, but Shanna Hatfield has the ability to create stories that weave themselves into your heart for eternity.
Don’t miss this amazing book.

SINCE YOU BUMPED INTO MY LIFE—NOTHING HAS BEEN THE SAME

Often in life, the best-laid plans don’t always work out. For Ellen Meade, she planned to become an attorney and move up the corporate ladder towards being a partner. The problem is she has not made partner, and she is defending people she doubts is innocent. Burke Tipton had plans for his future, but they changed midway, and instead of his intended path, he becomes an officer and now is with the Portland Mounted Patrol with his own horse, Sugar Bear.

The plot will have Ellen running into Officer Tipton and Sugar Bear, literally twice. Their first encounter has him upset with her when he recognizes she is the attorney to help protect a client who swindled so many people out of their savings. Their second encounter, she is flustered but different. When they are set up on a blind date, it will have Ellen and Burke meeting a third time that becomes a pleasant experience and the beginning of their relationship. Together they discover that helping others is important to them. When it turns to helping a sick man, John Hayse, and his daughter Missy, they learn the true meaning of compassion.

The story is part of this box set and is a sweet and clean contemporary tale that has horses, a dog, an attorney, a cop, and a little girl who just wants happiness with her Dad, with a happy ending.

This is a most wonderful story that I absolutely loved. It has a fun romance with a funny but rough start. It has compassion, soul, romance and a wonderful little girl that needs help as well as her dad does.

When a cop and a supposed trouble maker according to him, get together to help this little girl he found and her very sick dad in their car. He called the local police force of that area and an ambulance as he knew the dad was bad off. He was able to take the little girl home and called his trouble maker friend to come help him since he didn’t know he had no idea how to take care of a little girl.

How can bad situations be turned around? Read this delightful story and find out that there really is still love and compassion in this world.

Shanna Hatfield does an awesome amazing job as an author and I thoroughly enjoy her stories. I haven’t read one yet that I didn’t love.

I hope you will pick up this year’s Sweet Christmas Kisses 4: A Bundle of 14 Wholesome Holiday Romances with multiple authors.

I loved everything about this novella – the writing, the story, the characters (human and animal). There were so many great moments! I loved Ellen and Burke! They had that instant click factor – second time around anyway. :) And the way they finally got together made me laugh. A matchmaker’s dream! The fact that Burke had such an affect on Ellen’s life after their first “run in,” even though they didn’t see each other again for months, made everything even better. And that first kiss!!

If you’ve read Taste of Tara, you’ve met Ellen before. If you haven’t, you’ll meet Tara here and can read her story after. :)

Ellen and Burke are likable but after the first chapter quite plain in my opinion. Especially Burke seems too much the perfect Prince Charming in shining armor on his horse. That’s nice but... well, nothing more. There is no tension or anything. Yes, they have a connection and the reader can see how much they like each other, but I couldn’t feel any sexual chemistry between them.

Still, the story about them helping the little girl Mistletoe “Missy” Hayes and her father John is very sweet and heartwarming. But it’s a pity this was just a novella because I feel like there were so many things that we missed and that would have been great to explore in a full length novel. For example, it would have been nice to see more of Burke and Ellen interacting and getting to know each other, or to see more of them helping John to get his daughter back. I mean, he’s about their age, so I guess they developed a friendship during one of the leaps in time? And speaking of those, there were just too many... We skipped so many weeks that would have been so interesting to experience. I always felt a little slapped over the head when I started a new chapter just to realize we are suddenly a few weeks in the future.

However, coming back to John, we don’t even get to know him while he’s conscious although as Missy’s father he is such an important person to the story. But he’s always referred to off-screen like “I talked to John” and so on. That was really annoying. Even his and Missy’s happy ending is brushed of in a few sentences with stating what Burke has done and that he didn’t like doing it. There is no explanation why he feels that way when what he does seems quite ordinary and would have solved the problem way earlier. When I read that I was like “why the hell did you wait till the last minute to do it? You could have done that days ago!”

So, although the story was an easy, sweet Christmas read, I don’t really feel satisfied with how everything went and how it was handled in the book. The last point of course is mostly due to it being a novella, and I usually don’t have a problem with novellas, but in this one it really felt like this should better have been a full length novel.

Amazing book bringing together Ellen, Bourke and Mistletoe. Ellen works as a lawyer chasing cases to promote her. Then one day she accidentally bangs into Bourke’s leg as he is on his horse. He found out she was a lawyer and had got a man off who had swindled lots of people of their savings. Ellen was ashamed by this as she never realized what happened to people after case was won. It caused her to leave her job and get another one where she is helping people. Burke is a Mounted Policeman and has seen a car parked in same place for a few days. He had Ellen with him when he decided to investigate and found a wee girl in car, cold, hungry and worried about her Dad. Bourke contacted emergency people to come out. They take Bourke to hospital and Bourke takes Mistletoe back to his place. He asks Ellen to come over to help him…Mistletoe has become important to them. Great to see faith in this book.
Read book to see how it ends…
I was given this book to read and would recommend it if you want a clean contemporary story with good values.

Another one of Shanna Hatfield's superlative "opposites attract" romances. Ellen is a highly educated, upscale ambitious big city attorney who should have everything but doesn't. Lonely and over-stressed by her job, she craves companionship. Burke Tipton is the "urban cowboy," a Portland mounted patrolman who just loves what he does and is uncomplicated and straight-forward. These two literally bump into each other in downtown more than once and their mutual interest is piqued. Throw in Burke's trusty horse companion Sugar Bear, a large dog called Lovey, a homeless little girl and her father, desperate to survive on the streets, and you have the makings of a warm and fuzzy Christmas romance. My only complaint? Just when I was getting into knowing and loving these wonderful characters the story ended too quickly for me. A romance, kids, animals and the author is in her element!

A very sweet romance. Loved Missy. Ellen is so disenchanted with her job. When she (literally) runs into Burke and Sugar Bear, he gives her an earful about her job. She defended a man who swindled a friend of his and he is mad. Ellen can't believe how rude Burke is, but when she thinks about it, she agrees with him. So, she makes some changes. When she runs into him and Sugar Bear again, Burke notices the difference in her. Then a friend of his sets him up with a blind date, who just happens to be Ellen. They really hit it off. When Burke sees a man and a little girl living in a car, he stops to help. The man is very sick, and his adorable daughter is protecting him. Burke takes her in for the night while her father goes to the hospital. As Ellen and Burke get involved in caring for Missy, they fall in love with her and each other.

Ellen made plans and went about achieving them. Till a birthday at twenty six, and the open partnership job at the firm went to a nephew. Even her roommate had moved on married and they were expecting a baby.
Her job it seems like was defending clients who were guilty, and that was became more frustrating A day of mishaps when she bumps into Burke and his horse, patrolling his beat with the Mountie police.
A friend wanting a favor which he hadn’t asked before of a blind date with his cousin, how could he refuse. Surprising it was with her.
A cute story of friends and fate bringing them together.

A fun holiday romance

Ellen is an unhappy criminal defense attorney just climbing the corporate ladder until the day she ran into Officer Burke Tipton and his mount Sugar Bear. This set up a chain of events that bring them together. Then add to the mix of a little girl named Mistletoe., whose father is taken to the hospital. Ellen and Burke work to reunite father and daughter. Great romantic read and very heartwarming

Ellen and Burke 💞

Beautiful, lovely story of a chance meeting turning into so much more. Ellen and Burke had immediate chemistry and I loved their romance. Even though it wasn't what you would call normal lol
Sweet, young Mistletoe, who goes by Missy, is an added bonus. I loved the snowy horseback ride!

Very sweet, enjoyable story!

This story tugged at my heart

The sweetness mixed with the pain of a family in distress. The couple that helped them and kept a child safe was emotionally heart wrenching. The story line was awesome not many Authors cross a lune that society needs to learn to help others more. Thanks for the great story and prayers for those in need.

A Sweet Christmas Story

This book was definitely not what I anticipated but so much better. I love the romance and the caring nature of the main characters. Mistletoe is definitely a typical 6/7 year old child. The author must have one or have had one to be able to accurately describe her reactions.

Burke ❤️ Ellen

This is a real cute story about an attorney and a Police/cowboy.
Ellen Meade, Attorney at Law has a “run in“ with Mounted Police Officer Burke Tipton that leads to a beautiful love story. And Mistletoe? What does a seven, almost eight, year precious little girl have to do with all of this?
