They’re out there. And they’re waiting for a gate to open.
When the Army loses contact with a top secret facility, the ultra-secret Office of Unidentified Phenomena, and its top agent, Pierce Mostyn, is called in to investigate.
Mostyn and his team discover inter-dimensional beings have taken over the facility and have trapped them below ground. In their attempt to escape, Mostyn is injured and suspected of being one of THEM.
He needs to convince his team otherwise and prevent the real monsters from escaping. If he doesn’t, it could mean the end of humanity.
The Feeder is an introductory short story to the forthcoming Pierce Mostyn Paranormal Investigations series. If you’re a fan of The X-Files, Stranger Things, or the Cthulhu Mythos, then this series is for you.
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and have lived in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota for the past forty-five years, with occasional sojourns here and there. My interests range far and wide, but I don't do windows and I'm not a good dancer. I do like to cook, though, and am especially fascinated by steam power, sailing ships, airships, streamlined locomotives and automobiles, and all things streamline moderne.
An intriguing short story that is a "taster" to the author's new Pierce Moysten Paranormal Investigator series. Interesting in that it takes a more scientific view to the paranormal and exciting in that it takes the tight, suspenseful way to a horror story as opposed to guts and gore. It does however suffer a bit in the way some short stories do, appearing "choppy" at times throughout the piece. The work would have been much better if the author had expanded it into a novelette rather than seeming to chop it short to fit into the short story genre. Enticing enough to ensure I'll be waiting with baited breath for the first novel of the series.
A concise and tasty little morsel that introduces us to Pierce Mostyn and the OUP (Office of Unidentified Phenomena). If you’re a fan of HP Lovecraft or Weird fiction then this’ll be right up your alley. It’s a quick hit so don’t expect detailed characterisations but it does give you a taste of things to come.
If you grew up with The Thing and love Sci-Fi horror this book is just the thing. Fast-paced it was over before I realised I had reached the last page. Yes, I want more! What do you do when science brings home a new enemy? Pray it doesn't escape.
