This is one of the early books in my knitting library. I had already read some of Debbie Macomber's knitting fiction books. I bought this book back in 2009, but there are several patterns that I've returned to knit many times. One of my favorite patterns is Charlotte's Kitchen Cozies. I've given this pattern as a gift many times. It can be used as a dishcloth, hot pad, or pot holder. There are patterns for children clothes, a knitted tote, scarves, blankets/afghans. There are also patterns that can be knitted as squares for a blanket, scarf, or dishcloth. At the end of the book are knitting illustrated instructions for basic techniques. There are also some easy recipes to try like blueberry muffins and clam spaghetti. Although this is a slim book, it is chocked with lots of goodies for beginning as well as the more advanced knitter.
As well as knitting patterns and how to knit info, this book has some recipes. Everything is tied to her Cedar Cove series which is fun. I will be referring to it the next time I begin a knitting project.
