This journey isn’t over yet! Find out just how far into the end of the world you can go!
Ms Paulson has given us a lot to think about. This seems to be a very pivotal book. It is in the middle of the series and there seems to be several ways that this could go.
First of all there is the evil aspect. Evil is a matter of perspective. Mother Nature has her way of controlling the population. We screw up and she kills us off. We don’t have any control over whom she picks to die. So, why is it evil for someone else to do it. That is a different perspective but a plausible one, but not one that we think of as moral. This line of thinking is a discussion for another day.
Now back to the book. The author is presenting us with other point of view options. Is the storyline being told in a mother, daughter, and daughter perspective? Is it totally from Cady’s perspective? Is the storyline Bailey’s. I went back through the previous books and can see all of them being possible. There are even possibilities within these.
Ms Paulson is a very good writer. She is leaving us all of these options or may have something totally different in mind. Wouldn’t that be a great way to take us. What a wonderful maze.
She also seems to do her research very well. Her descriptions of the various herbs are a nice touch. There are a lot of little things that she throws into the story that reflect her due diligence. I guess we all will have to buy this and the rest of the books to really find out.
WOW - this is an awesome series!!! I will start by saying that this is the 5th book of the series. You have to read "NO TIME", "LAST CHANCE", "HOLD ON" and "Too Late", BEFORE you read "LOOK AWAY"!!! Otherwise, this book will make absolutely no sense to you.
So much is happening -- so many are sick -- so many are dying -- who do you help and who will survive!!! They still have electricity - but for how long??? Again we have to ask: Who will live and who will die??? I don't write spoilers -- BUT omg this is an amazing story!!!
Started the series after getting the first one free, I then continued on. However, I found it was too repetitive and I got bored. The locations changed and new characters were added, but it was the same thing over, and, over and over until it got too tiring to continue. The constant musings of the characters and their angst finally got too much to bear for me to the point I no longer cared if they made it or not. The buildup to certain scenes was excruciating, only to end in an entirely abrupt manner. It just started getting redundant and tired.
I enjoyed the series , but this book was written in 2018. I'm reading in in Aug. 2020 and there is no book after this don't know if the author lost interest or died, but you'll be left hanging here at book 5.
Cady takes Margie's advice on the treatment of the virus, and has done her best to teach Bailey everything she can about survival. Now Cady has symptoms of the virus. Holy, wow! These are fascinating characters and the plot is as exciting as it is terrifying. I loved this book, and can't wait for the next book.
