Marcus Black is a killer. He hides behind a mask of humanity, preying on the living and the dead to feed the shadow that lives within him. When the outbreak began he fled to the mountains, but someone out there knows his true identity, and they’ve summoned him back to the city. Now the shadow is missing, and without it, he’s lost.
Returning home, Marcus finds the city has changed. The military run brutal work camps while the rich throw parties. Contact with the rest of the world has been lost, and there are rumors of swarms of the dead laying waste to nearby cities.
When Marcus meets Cali Hart, a colleague from his former life, she eagerly draws him deeper into this bizarre new world and offers him a way to reawaken the shadow. Desperate to get back to his old life, Marcus is drawn to the idea, but should he trust Cali? Or is her own shadow more dangerous than his?

Though I enjoyed the other books in the series I didn't write a review because I'm not sure what I'd say. I didn't particularly like Marcus at times but he always had a reason for why he did things. This book made me like him and I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's just that I disliked other people more. I didn't particularly like cali but she played an important role. Anyway. I enjoyed it and want to read the next one.
Fast paced, interesting zombie book. Little to no objectionable language [mainly because it's never necessary- especially for a competent writer]. Basically, a self-contained story but a continuing saga if you're interested. I will probably read more. I have enjoyed this entire series to some degree [at times it is a little too violent- usually NOT in relation to the zombies, but I get it, it's a serial killer zombie book]. This one has been my favorite so far.
Absolutely awesome!!! I had a blast reading this zombie filled, action packed, and twisted tale. This was part three in a series about a serial killer that is set loose in a zombie apocalypse. The events that lead up to and create the zombies is different and thought provoking. I look forward to the next title in this series.
For those who, like me, enjoy the apocalypse with zombies and realism, this series has it all. And Shadows is the best one yet. There are some interesting (and sad) twists and turns. There is plenty of blood and gore, bad guys and worse ones. Lots of evil doers and evil done. Brilliant!
