I rarely ever DNF a book...this might be one of maybe 2 or something. This is a workbook and I was looking forward to having exercises that were a bit challenging...I didn't think it would be like this. The book explains the grammar concepts in a very superficial way rarely ever explaining the endings of words that they use in sentences. I've caught at least one mistake in their interpretation of a sentence and at least one mistake in their answer key. There is no glossary at the end of the chapter or book to at least give you the meanings of the words (some words have more nuanced meanings which can be very confusing for beginners)...the only reason I am giving this book 2 stars is because of the grammar points they explain (even if it is VERY superficially).
The structure of this book is all over the place! At the beginning, it starts with teaching the alphabet, 한글 (hangeul), which is the most basic thing. By the end of the book, it both quizzes you on foundational words like 나비 (butterfly) and how to conjugate the past tense while throwing around vocab words like “aerobic exercise” at the same time. It could be a good book for review as an intermediate learner but it is extremely tedious for upper beginners and low intermediate learners.
