“This book had me sucked in from the very beginning. Such a heart breaking story of a young girl blinded by lust and betrayed physically and emotionally by someone she thought loved her. These abusive situations happen far too often to young women and I found myself putting my past relationships into perspective after reading this story. Beautifully written and will keep you on the edge of your seat emotionally.”
“Excellent book! Being an abuse survivor myself, I can relate to her feelings being all over the place. Also the fear and insecurity these abusers put on us is real. When people ask why don't you just leave they don't understand the abuser makes you feel like you have no where to go. This book is right on spot and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to know what its like”
“Very compelling read. So much rings true from my teenage relationships and how much I our myself in verbally abusive situations. Tracey's descriptions at times were hard to read but we're written in such a way that made her character very relatable. I finished the book quickly. Very good!”
“I read this book in 1 day & 1/2!!! Couldn’t put it down. I am not in the situation the author was, however this gives insight into the “why dont they just pick up and leave him?” questions. It takes a strong person to endure all of that mental and physical abuse! I would highly recommend this to anyone in or out of a domestic abuse relationship. I cant wait for book #2 to come out to continue where it leaves off & find out what happens. Thanks for sharing tour life with others in an attempt to help those that feel so lost! Excellent job!”
“I loved this book!! I read it in 2 days! I need a sequel to tell me what happens next!!!!! I haven’t had a book keep my attention for a very long time, and this one I couldn’t put down”.
“This is a very heart wrenching story of a young impressionable girl. Too often these things happen and go untold. I thought this book told the story in an honest and believable way. Which made me wanting to read on but left me sad to know this really happens. My thanks to the author Tracey Hanick for her bravery and decision to make this her mission to help others that suffer from domestic abuse. Her book "His Power Over Me" is a good read and is so worth sharing. As she said that it would be reward enough to know this helps anyone going through this which in my opinion makes her a very humble yet strong surviver.”
“Definitely on the re-read list! Powerful!”
“Really good book. I was on the edge of my seat through most of it. Fantastic writing!”

Just finished this amazing story written by Tracey Haynick “His Power Over Me”. It is such a sad yet uplifting story about going through domestic abuse and not only surviving but thriving. It would be awesome if more people going through this could read her book and avoid the same pitfalls. I got this and finished it quickly because I just couldn’t put it down. Great read and easily for most ages 16+ is slightly graphic but imo necessary , I think it would be good for teens to read to help them before they fall prey to do domestic abuse too, it can happen to the best of us.
I'm not sure what to think about it to be honest. A lot happened, many really bad things. Betrayal by friends, loved ones. To know the story came from a survivor of abuse made it more impactful. Scarier even. There were some issues with grammar and set up, but it was gripping.
I went from wanting to shake some sense in to the main character to heart thumping suspense! Especially at the end, I couldn't put the book down! Every girl should read this!
