Five friends killed a man and buried the body. Five years later, the body is stolen. The thief: unknown. His hostage: a corpse. There is nowhere to run, only the mystery blackmailer's cruel, repulsive "instructions." And so occurs a tragedy, under the sun, in the woods. The indelible scent of blood. Friendship and peaceful days, gone. Exposed skin and stolen dignity. What is crime? And what is punishment? Unable to answer, they plunge, head first, through the gates of hell.

you know that bit in arrested development where he sees a "warning dead pigeon" sign on the fridge, finds a dead pigeon, and goes "I didn't know what I was expecting" ?

yeah.

Schlocky and over-dramatic. Slight gore and fanservice, but honestly... I'm still into it.

The cover features Haruka. She's the hypotenuse (short side) in the love triangle, which is unfortunate, but I'm hoping maybe she can emerge by the end of the series. Of course, in a series that involves death, I'm really concerned about all these characters well beings.

This series while not quite what I expected is pretty enjoyable.
Half coming of age and half crime thriller about a group of ALevel students who get involved with murder while also dealing with romantic feelings is definitely an interesting genre and the story is pretty fun to follow along with, especially when you don't know what's going to happen next.
I do wish the covers were different though 😖

The plot is shaping up into something more interesting. I am mainly intrigued on what the theme of the story will be. I think it has to do something with either the morality of death or something a bit more subtle like a stand-in for cultural taboo. But I'm still unsure about what the theme could be yet

Somehow had more fanservice than the last volume. Just leave Haruka out of the love triangle please. It does absolutely no favors to her character

Exactly the kind of edgelord bullshit we like. Dark twists and reveals aplenty, along with some major questions getting built. It’s a little too trashy to be good but this is proving to be a fun ride.

Dear God this manga is messed up! The first volume was strong yet cliched, but did show indications that the series was heading in a very morbid yet brilliant direction, so I was happy to see that this volume has confirmed what I thought. The anonymous blackmailer has outdone himself and forced the group to do even more messed up things. This manga was already dark but I took an even more macabre turn. The groups close kept secrets and pasts are unraveling, all catalysed by the mysterious caller and the tension is amped up as the police get involved. We find out a little bit more about the five mains, particularly Haruka, who seems like a lovely character but I feel sorry for because of her unrequited love. This instalment is very uncomfortable at times and does get very graphic, which I’m pretty sure will be the case for the whole series. I would not recommend this series to anyone who is sensitive to gore and abuse. I have a few theories on who the antagonist may be but who knows! I have high hopes for this series and I’m absolutely gripped!
