When I began writing, I wanted to create a fat heroine who loved herself—or at least learned to love herself—and a hot alpha hero who liked her jiggly bits just the way they were. Since I didn’t find many big girls to read about, I decided to write about them myself. After all, I loved to write and had been writing almost as long as I’d been reading, so Francesca Hawley – author of "Romance with Dangerous Curves" was born.

When Missy comes in, what happens? When Jess tries to hold up to her end of the dare she made with Aaron, what happens? The next day, when Aaron and Jess talk about their respective evenings, what does he tell her? The four children of Jess and Nat do something special for their anniversary, why? How many years have they been together? What is the ultimate gift that the kids give to them? How does Nat feel about that? What happens at the event? You're going to have to read to find out.

Who is Kenyon Fort and why does she contact him? What is the arrangement between Sirena and Kenyon? It made me giggle when I read it! What happens when Sirena breaks something Kenyon had sent to her that was supposed to be the best of the best? When she calls him to tell him it broke, he makes up his mind to do something after their 'talk'. What does he do and what happens when he does it? After Sirena talks to his father's wife, well, one of them anyways, what happens when Sirena gets home? What happens when Kenyon shows back up and finds the stranger attacking Sirena? What happens between Sirena and Kenyon after the other man is chased off?
Viking in Tartan by Suz deMello - We find ourselves in Scotland, on Yule Eve in 1260. Erland Blodson is the person we meet first. What is he doing and why? Where is he going and why? Who is Rhona? What was she doing out in the ocean during a major storm? Can Erland find them someplace to weather out the storm that is raging? With Rhona out of it, can he drag her out of the water, and himself? What of his ship? What has happened to it? After weathering out the storm. Erland tries to take Rhona back up to the keep at the top of the cliff. What happens when they step outside of their refuge? Who is there to greet them? What happens? When Rhona and Erland make their way up to the keep and look for her brother Keith, what happens? This was a fun read and not at all what I expected. It was a very interesting tale to read to figure out how the title of the book came about.

When a cell phone starts ringing, it is answered on speaker. Kenyon demands to know if anyone was found. What happens next? Well, to find that out, you're going to have to read this! Dang is it HAWT!

What plans do the men make over their week off from work between Christmas Eve and just after New Years Day? Will these two men be able to take their relationship to the next level or does it fizzle out? Read and see what happens.

One night, she decides to go out for a run. What happens? All these questions and more that you did not know you had will be answered as you read this book. What kind of shifter is Jase, for example? Life certainly does get interesting in this series of Hybrid Mates. It's fun to read about!
Sophie's Christmas Gargoyle by Katherine Kingston - During the holidays, Sophie has a gift shop that people flock to for interesting gifts. One evening, in a downpour, she notices a woman standing out at the corner. She spies someone standing in an alcove across the street, also watching the woman and she goes out to get her and bring her inside, which earns her the respect of the hooded figure across the street. Eventually he comes inside and introduces himself as Mark Devane. Eleanor is a battered wife, and Sophie and her assistant get her off to meet someone that can take her to a women's shelter where she will be safe. What happens between Mark and Sophie is amazing to watch. This is definitely a story with an HEA.

What happens when they walk in and get a tour of the locale? What do they find out about the club they have gone to, dressed to the 9's? When Lindy takes her turn talking to Sheila, what does Sheila show her and tell her? Ocean Dreams by Suz deMello - This is one of those crazy little love stories that will have you giggling your way through the book. Especially when you find out who Blue is to Sandi. How does she know him and when was the last time she saw him? Oh my goodness! This book is a hoot! I so was NOT expecting what happened in the middle of her time swimming with a dolphin! What happens when a former boss shows up at the B&B she's staying at with a uniformed person, looking for something she 'clearly' does not have tucked away in her shower? This is one of the cutest books I have read. Lots of fun.

When Christmas rolls around, Ginny invites Benderic to join her and her family. What is his response? Who are Mark and Eric and why do they show up at Ginny's apartment? What does she find on the floor of her apartment when she gets home from work one night? Read and see what happens!
No Gentleman by Francesca Hawley - In this story, we find ourselves in Whitewolf, Colorado in December 1905, right around Christmas. Who is Abigail? Who is Lizzy? Why does William Goldwolf seem to not approve of Abigail? Will is on the board for the library. What happens when he shows up one night in the library after she has locked it down? How did he get in? What happens? When the board president, Mr. Brownwolf, shows up, what does Lizzy do? This book does turn erotic pretty quickly. Abigail is reminded of the town social that night by Mr. Brownwolf. What happens at the social? When Lizzy goes out to get firewood the following morning, what puts the fear of God into Lizzy? You're going to have to read to find out exactly what goes on in Whitewolf. It was an interesting read!

What happens at the social? When Lizzy goes out to get firewood the following morning, what puts the fear of God into Lizzy? You're going to have to read to find out exactly what goes on in Whitewolf. It was an interesting read!

I've read a number of Naughty Literati boxed sets. So far, this is my favorite. The Naughty authors have given us another group of short, fun, steamy stories. If you aren't familiar with these authors, this a great introduction. If you know them from their longer stories you'll enjoy the little short reads for any time especially if you need to read but don't have a lot of time. This “high-heat” paranormal collection includes 15 shapeshifter, vampire, and gargoyle romance stories from authors writing as The Naughty Literati! Note that all titles have been previously published in Naughty Literati anthologies, so some may be familiar to you. They are definitely written for a mature, adult reader – but I read them anyway. Below is a review of two of them to give you an idea of what you’ll find in the collection.
*** Reviewing “SOPHIE’S CHRISTMAS GARGOYLE” by Katherine Kingston ***
Sophie was stringing Christmas lights in the gift shop window when she noticed a bedraggled woman standing out in the pouring rain. The woman just stood there, not seeking shelter even though the December temperature was cold. Sophie looked across the street and saw another figure, a large cloaked and hooded man, in the shelter of a doorway. He, too, was looking at the woman, although she wasn’t aware of it. Sophie grabbed an umbrella and went out in the wind and rain to invite the woman into her shop for warmth. The man still stared, but he gave a slight nod in her direction.
Sophie and her coworker dried off the woman with towels and gave her a cup of tea. When Ella pushed her wet hair off her face, the women could see she had been beaten. Suddenly the shop door opened and the man from across the street entered, telling them Ella’s husband was looking for her and they needed to get her out of sight quickly. Oddly, Ella had no idea who he was!
A muscled stranger entered and said he and his wife were shopping when she fell in the rain and hit her head. Then they got separated. He had to find her. Jean asked if he had called her on her cell phone perhaps? Jean suggested she may have gone to the café up the street. He gazed at the back room and the teacup – then he thanked them and left. The stranger, who told them his name was Mark Devane, came out of the back room and told them he would go out the back and circle around to re-enter. If the husband knew a man was in the shop, he would be less likely to come back and harm them. He told Sophie that he was a guardian protector. Sophie called a shelter which specialized in abuse cases, and Jean took Ella to the arranged meeting place. But when Ella’s husband saw her in the car, he raced into the gift shop, but Mark stepped forward and talked to him calmly, asking him to leave. Then he turned to Sophie and told her that Ella was safe – but now Sophie was in danger. Would the abusive husband turn in vengeance on Sophie? How would she survive this? And what would she do when she found out what Mark actually was?
IMMORTAL HUNTERS - Suz deMello
Maria Ramona Ramos, a vampire, currently using the alias “Hestia White”, was a private investigator. She was on surveillance when a cop and a detective tapped on her car window to ask her to leave the area. Detective John van Helsing provided his name, coincidentally the same name as a vampires’ greatest foe. Or wasn’t it a coincidence at all?
An infant had been kidnapped for ransom, and “Hestia’s” agency was hired by the mother to rescue her child whom they all knew would be killed as soon as the money was exchanged. Curious, she asked the Detective how he found out about this, since the family had been warned not to go to the police. She was not expecting to hear that HE was family – the baby was his son! With her heightened hearing, she heard the baby cry out and took off to get to him, quickly scaling the building and moving at great speed. She chased the kidnapper down the dark stairs as the Detective and cop raced up them. The kidnapper pulled a gun and John and the cop went down. “Hestia” jumped over them but snagged her boot heel on John’s sleeve and tumbled down the steps. By the time she got outside, she saw a black SUV race away with the baby.
She ran after the SUV, and with vampire speed matching the 60 mph vehicle, she saw the Detective actually catch up to her! What was he? How was this possible? Could he also be a vampire? There was definitely much more to this story than she knew!
Each of these stories is very different, but all provide an interesting story to hold the reader’s attention. You won’t want to miss this romantic collection!

A well-written collection, with some stories I adored
A good mix of stories and authors, all well-written, several of which I loved. Every author in this anthology has at least two different stories, which I thought was a nice touch, as it gives you a better feel for their work. These were all new-to-me authors, and while I'd read all of them again, there are a couple of authors I will be going immediately to find more stories from. Which is really what I look for in an anthology. Overall I give this 5 stars with individual story comments and ratings following.
Buy Me a Rose by Francesca Hawley
Shifter. A lovely, heartfelt story about a middle-aged couple reconnecting. 4.5 stars
How to Blackmail a Vampire by Belle Scarlett
Vampire (duh!). Clever and funny as well as hot, while still hanging onto that dark, vampire vibe. Vampires aren't usually my favorite, but this intriguing take means I'm going to be looking for more from this author. 5+ stars
Hybrid Mates: Merry Christmas, Kitten by Nicole Austin
Shifter. Very hot with touches of humor. Interesting setup and characters but I would have like a little more story to go along with the heat. 4 stars
Viking in Tartan by Suz deMello
Highland Vampire. Viking vampire finds Scottish woman. Interesting mix. I'm assuming this is an add on to an established series; while enjoyable enough on its own, would probably be more enjoyable having previously read the series. 4 stars
Hybrid Mates: My Valentine Lovers by Nicole Austin
Shifter and MFM. Follow-up to Merry Christmas, Kitten. With the same humor and heat but the additional background and what felt like more story, I enjoyed this more than the first. 4.5 stars
Perfectly Presented by Berengaria Brown
M/M. Very hot mixed with some sweet and touching for Christmas (though I missed the connection to how it fits in this anthology). 4.5 stars
Hybrid Mates: My Kind of Lover by Nicole Austin
Shifter. Follow-up to the first two Hybrid Mates stories with a third sister. Much like the first two. 4 stars
Sophie's Christmas Gargoyle by Katherine Kingston
Shifter. Great characters and a plot that quickly pulled me in. Excellently done and a beautiful story. Another author I will be eager to read more from. 5+ stars

Viking in tartan-- a vampire Viking rescues a Scottish lady find me the clan and home. Unusual story but enjoyable.
Hybrid mates my Valentine lovers-- that's equal to hybrid mate Merry Christmas kitten. The lioness meet twins mates in sexy erotica Romance that is exciting and unique for the reader.
Perfectly presented-- two males erotica is very well written and the reader can visualize the characters.

Ocean Dreams-- this is a fantastic unusual story about a male shifter dolphin and his human mate. I thoroughly enjoyed these characters in this fun sexy short story.
Her gargoyle Guardian-- how does one change of gargoyle into a human, through the true love for that gargoyle. This story and another one in this series about gargoyles is characterized the magic of love.
No gentleman-- what would a librarian do if she discovered the man she liked was really a wolf shifter in the Frontier Town name whitewolf. A very fascinating story shifters may have treated humans.
Were the hell-- a Wolfpack that has no girl wolves in their population. 2 male wolves, who are from different packs, are mates. They solve the mystery.

Every once and a while I stumble into a group of writers I wonder how I missed - that's how I feel about The Naughty Literati (Francesca Hawley, Belle Scarlett, Nicole Austin, Suz deMello, Berengaria Brown, and Katherine Kingston). Naughty Beasts: Shifters, Vamps, and Gargoyles, Oh My! was a fun and sexy read!
Many paranormal books have a sexy element but fail at being a hot and steamy read. Naughty Beasts succeeds at all points at being a hot and steamy read with a paranormal flair. Broken into short stories, the book has a little bit of everything - historical fiction, contemporary fiction almost all with either vampires, shifters (of all kinds) and Gargoyles (yeah never thought of Gargoyles as sexy but Katherine Kingston has definitely made me a believer). Some of the characters' paranormal traits are a big part of the story, while some are just a characteristic such as having red hair. Each story is very hot and panty melting. The combination of partners in the stories are also very steamy - with mm, mfm, mf as well as cross shifter species. My only complaint is the story about an MM couple as there was no paranormal element in the story (that I could find).
Some of the stories relate to each other as a thread is woven between characters. As most of the authors feature more than one story, these stories had characters from the same stories but the spotlight moves to another character. The other thread in many of the stories was a Christmas time setting. While the time of year and some activities were around Christmas, they are not sickly sweet versions of hot, sexy paranormal creatures (thank goodness). I also appreciate the inclusion of historical romance paranormal stories that gave a great new twist.
These are great, fun, sexy, steamy (any many other related adjectives I am lacking) stories. I loved all the Naughty Beasts!

I have read several of these anthologies put together by Naughty Literati and they are always great this one was no different. This anthology has shifters, vampires, gargoyles, and more. For me there was only one but that didn’t really fit the theme. It was still a good book but it didn’t go with the theme of the anthology. There were a few in this anthology that I had read before but it was maybe 3 of the fifteen, and I liked reading them again. The hybrid mates books by Nicole Austin were my favorite and I plan on looking for more of them to read. I really loved reading these books and I highly recommend this anthology to everyone. I look forward to reading more anthologies put together by Naughty Literati.

A Collection of fifteen exciting Paranormal stories. Each story is different with a large range of Paranormal beings Vampires, Gargoyles and shifters in all sorts of shape sizes and species. The age ranges from young to very old with couples meeting to one who have grown families also a mix of genders combinations. The stories involve a range of times and situations so that you get a very different story each time. Great to read in bed, while traveling or when you just a short space of time and if you love paranormal adventures you will probably enjoy this collection.

Holy hotness Batman! This book, all the stories, were freaking amazing!! My only complaint, I wish they had been longer. I loved reading about all the different shifters & other paranormal, don't get me wrong. I just love this genre.
I found myself getting pulled in to each story & really enjoyed when the author came up next, it was like it continued. I now have some serious homework to do and find these authors!!

The beautiful cover caught my eye, and I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review. The title describes these fifteen novellas by six (all new to me) authors perfectly. You get stories of very naughty beasts and their mates/significant others. Even though I mostly gravitate toward vampire stories, I have to say that I truly enjoyed the gargoyle stories by Katherine Kingston the most in this set. If you’re into naughty paranormal creatures, then this collection of quick, erotic reads will be right up your alley.

Enjoyable collection of short stories with shifters, vampires, and gargoyles as main characters. Each story has a different theme and characters. I liked some more than others, but all were 4 or 5 star reads with plenty of heat and romance. If you like paranormal romance, I think you will enjoy this set. Most of these authors were new to me, and I found some I want to read more, longer stories from.

Naughty Beasts by Naughty Literati is a wonderful collection of stories to read. This is a collection of stories by a bunch of different brand new authors for me to read. I am so glad I did it has shapeshifter, vampire, and gargoyle in a bunch of different stories. I highly recommend this collection of stories for everyoen who loves reading about shapeshifter, vampire, and gargoyle in there stories.
