Oak Mountain Shifters #2

Her Secret Protector Bear

Rate this book
***She has no idea of the DANGER she is in... and her SECRET PROTECTOR plans to keep it that way... ***

Everyone is entitled to a one night stand, but it's just Adrian's luck to end up with a sexy but selfish guy who practically rolls off of her and runs for the door.
Sure, she's sexy, curvy, and confident, but dealing with the likes of this joker leaves her confidence shaken.

Kent Black lost everything as a child. His only comfort in life was martial arts, and even that wasn't enough to fill the void. Kent wanders around the mountainside taking odd jobs from the Alpha bear, until one day he is called in to discuss a mysterious job opportunity.

Logan Mills needs protection for his daughter who is in terrible danger. But the girl can't know about it. Kent will need to watch her from afar, and agrees to it, before he learns that the girl he must protect is the same woman he had just royally screwed up with…in the form of a one night stand – admittedly not his best moment…

When Adrian is summoned back to Oak Mountain by her step-father, she reluctantly goes along with it, not realizing that in the shadows, her secret protector is always watching...but will even he be able to avert the danger that pursues her…

Thanks for stopping by! I loves to weave tales of Alpha Shifters and the woman they love...or is it crave? ; ) I love all things fantasy and paranormal - if you haven't noticed! I am clearly a hopeless romantic too! What a coincidence! When I is not writing I am loving on her pet menagerie of cats and dogs - as well as on her very own Alpha : ) ...Our little gang splits our time between the mountains and the city in the far west... I hope my stories bring a smile, a laugh...as well as some steam to your day. And above all I hope they help you keep the feel of "possibility" alive in your heart...cause all things are possible...at least I like to think so! Enjoy

I am never disappointed in Leela Ash's books. Another fantastic addition to the Oak Mountain Shifters series. As soon as Adrian and Kent meet, an intense chemistry was born. She comes to the mountain to do some work placement studying through her schooling. They have a one night stand, but Kent leaves as soon as their magical moment is done. Adrian couldn't understand how he could be so cold. She didn't see him again before going back home until she returns after a request from her step-father. Little does she know that Kent has been hired to guard her because the dragons plan to use her in a ceremony due to some evil plan her biological father had started years ago. Kent didn't realize that he was rude when he had left her after their night together. He just can't stand to be in small spaces and had to get out of her cabin at the time. When he finally explains the situation to Adrian, she understands somewhat, but still can't seem to forgive. When the dragons evil plan comes to light, will Adrian realize that she and Kent are meant to be together? Will they be able to survive the battle? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Leela has given us another wonderful story in the “Oak Mountain Shifter” series. “Her Secret Protector Bear” is a brief well-developed story. Adrian is a student with a work placement at Oak Mountain. She meets Kent a bear shifter at the job site. At first sight, Kent knows that Adrian is his fated mate. The attraction is mutual so why does Ken disappear after a one night stand? Can Adrian forgive him for leaving without explanation? This intriguing story is sweet, romantic and steamy. Another one-click must.

I find the quality of books by this author to be greatly improved over the time that I have been reading them but there are still editing & grammar errors which can sometime make it difficult for the reader to understand exactly what is happening or who it's happening to. However, the actual story I really enjoyed. The characters & the interaction between them was wonderful. As usual, there is long, slow build up & a seemingly quick wrap up at the end. But there is always a happy ending and is completely standalone.

Could definitely use another round of editing! This is a cute PNR story. It focuses mostly on the journey and less on the conclusion. Not bad overall.

A mixture of stories.

The title novel for this collection was very good. I enjoyed reading it immensely. The others were of different genres from other authors.

To much telling not showing in the writing. But good enough to want to read the next book.

The FMC was TDTL, made me want to DNF she was THAT annoying. Same issue as last time, the intimate scenes weren't quite open door and edging fade to black, LOTS of imagination needed.
