Things She Sees in the Dark

Rate this book
To solve her cousin’s disappearance, she’ll have to confront a very dark past-if she can ever regain her memory.

In the summer of 1987, 7-year-old Jeanie Maynard and her cousin were attacked while out for an evening bike ride. Ricky disappeared that night and the residents of the small, mountain town have been searching for answers ever since.

As the only witness to the crime, all eyes fell upon Jeanie. If only she could remember what happened. If only she could remember Ricky… Her entire childhood memory was wiped out that awful night.

Now, at 37, Jeanie’s plagued by guilt and by something else. The shadows on her walls, the footsteps outside her bedroom door at night, her sense that someone is following her, the strange figure that frequents her dreams-is something haunting her or is Jeanie starting to recover her memory?

One thing is for sure-she’s the only one who can solve the mystery of Ricky’s abduction.

And someone is determined to keep her quiet.

So Good.

This is mind blowing. I liked it alot. Poor Jeanie has no idea what is going on with her family till the end. I feel so sad when she finds out where Ricky really is. I wondered about this when she said there was fresh flowers on her dogs grave so often. What Jeff did was really in a way mean but I would have done same in his shoes most likely. Once again Rebecca has written a outstanding book. Great job. Number 1 book I think.

Well thought put

I admit I couldn't figure out the end, but I didn't try to either. It was so easy to put myself in the girls shoes and feel what she was going through along with the frustration of something being right there, just out of reach. I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to read anything new she has coming out!

Terrific mystery

OK, this one really had me going; I totally did not see the end coming. Well plotted, nicely done. A couple of spelling errors, and at one point the dog's name changes, but still well worth reading!

Surprisingly good! I was guessing all the way until the end.

4.5 stars, which would have been 5 if not for the spelling/grammar errors peppered throughout the book. They were ultimately distracting. Easily fixed with a good editor.

On pins and needles

Ms. Howard builds a very suspenseful story with all kinds of surprising twists and turns. And the answer when it comes--trust me you will be floored by it.

Ghost's

While I enjoyed reading the book in some areas it was somewhat confusing ! Wording was a little off. But all in all, kept me guessing to the end.
