Buena historia pero el héroe demasiado obsesivo!

Broken daddy de Blake North

Argumento:

Sé que no puedo tenerla.

Y eso hace que la quiera aún más.

Me llaman sobreprotector.

This is my first Blake North story and I have to say I was pleasantly pleased with it. Ridge is a hard ass dad that runs his family like the military that he use to be in. But he has a good reason for it and expects everyone in his life to just follow orders and don't ask questions. So when he decides he needs a nanny for his five-year-old daughter the search is on for someone that will follow the rules.
I really enjoyed Rena's character. She doesn't come on strong at first. She follows the rules, doesn't ask many questions and gets along with Lydia pretty well. Yes, there is an attraction there between her and Ridge but not something that overpowers the story. But once everyone starts getting more comfortable with their place in the home, Rena's character and strength really starts to show and that is when Ridge realizes that he might have bargained for more than he thought. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Ridge is a single dad to a smart, precocious kindergartener daughter. She is his world and will do whatever it takes to make her happy and to keep her safe. The latter has proved to be more of a challenge as of late, since his security company has made some enemies of the mob. Ridge is well aware that no one is off limits when it comes to the mob, so he basically has his little girl on house arrest other than going to school (accompanied by a guard).

Reva is an intelligent young woman who has realized recently just how much trouble her kind and trusting soul can get her into. She finds herself unemployed and homeless, but defeat isn’t an option for this strong young woman and she pursues any type of work even remotely related to her dream. This brings her to an interview with the brooding, over-protection, obsessive and closed-off Ridge Carter. He’s also the most handsome man she’s ever laid eyes on, but from their first meeting it is clear that he is totally closed off to relationships and fights their explosive sexual chemistry tooth and nail.

It turns out that Reva is just what Ridge’s young daughter needed in her life. She starts to flourish and quickly becomes attached to her new nanny and friend Reva. The problem is, Ridge is growing exhausted of denying himself the beautiful woman that lives under his roof and although he knows he needs to keep his hands to himself, sometimes attraction can’t be helped. Unfortunately Ridge is unable to manage his feelings for Reva, while keeping his daughter safe and cocooned from the outside world, so he has to choose sides and of course, every time, a parent will choose their child.

Reva is just what Ridge needs to repair his broken heart and damaged soul, but he sends away the sweet balm after getting his first taste.

Will Reva be able to forgive him once he realizes the huge mistake he has made? Will Ridge be able to keep both of the women he loves safe from the dangers that threaten them?

Slow burn, single dad/nanny romance. Well-written, interesting love story, with off the charts sexual tension and a sweet happy ending.

Ridge is broken, but well worth fixing.

I really enjoyed this story by Blake North. It surrounds Ridge who is an ex-military man who is a single dad with a great little girl called Lydia who will stand up to her dad at times. Ridge runs a very successful security company but he has made enemies in his line of work with mob connections. As Lydia is getting older, he feels that he needs a nanny for her that they can trust and will do the job properly. he interviews Reva who is totally unlike any applicant that he thought there would be. She's stunning, sassy, intelligent but the interview does not go well, despite both of them feeling the sizzling attraction between them, and Reva walks out. I thought Reva was a great character, she was a young woman who had had an unhappy time with an ex-boyfriend who built up credit card bills in her name and the debts were mounting up as she couldn't pay because she had lots her job to budget cuts. However, there was no one appropriate for the nanny position but Reva and Ridge, knowing that he was going to have to have an internal battle with himself to keep away from Reva, he goes after her and she accepts the job. But this is a HOT romance with passion, hot and steamy scenes and , just maybe, a HEA on the horizon if they can get through the dangers surrounding them. I did like like the laugh out loud moments as humour is always important to me. These three souls obviously belong together and I'm certain that you will enjoy seeing their story unfold before you in the pages of this book. Well written so much so that it grabs you at page one and keeps you entertained to the last. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.

Hot and cold is one way to describe the security owner, Ridge who hires a nanny, Reva, to look after his daughter, Lydia. I couldn’t stop laughing at his interview for her and the others that he interviewed the day he hires Reva. A great comedy relief right at the beginning and the rest of the read has some steamy scenes but it’s mostly him being hot and cold towards the nanny. He loves his daughter and has her in a gilded cage until Reva comes and stirs things up but he has an attraction to her thus his cold demeanour towards her. Not only that but his past has a lot to do with that, building up walls and not letting others in except his daughter.
A great read which I enjoyed and I loved Reva, she was strong, independent and didn’t compromise in the taking care of Lydia, putting her first even when it hurt her to be around Ridge. Ridge was like a robot with all his rules and regulations and kept his feelings guarded and cold but was a loving and caring father when his daughter was around. Their interactions were almost laughable, avoiding and keeping their distance until they finally give in, unfortunately it makes it worse between them. Reva chips away at him until he finally relents giving both what they want and desire. The ending seemed a bit rushed after all the build up with the threat hanging over them and after everything they went through it seemed like it didn’t happen and they carried on like nothing happened. I did enjoy the epilogue and was pleasantly surprised with how it all turned out and what Ridge did for Reva.

This story has a new plot from all the recent stories out there and it’s about Ridge, his little girl Lydia and her nanny Reva. Ridge is Ex-military and a very serious man who owns a successful security firm. His previous business has created a threat towards his family and Ridge surrounds himself with what is needed to protect Lydia! He interviews for a new nanny and when Reva comes in it’s a crazy interview and she ends up walking out on him. Reva made a mistake with a previous boyfriend and she finds herself in credit card debt living with a friend and her current teaching job ended due to budget cuts. Her dream is to open a center for adults who have special needs so they can find services they no longer have access to. Benny her brother has taught her so much and she wants to continue that. Ridge can not find another suitable nanny and ends up offering the job to Reva even though he knows it will be hard to resist being around Reva. I love how Lydia who is tough little cookie of a kid holds her own and seems to fall in love with Reva and stands up to her dad! They have some really funny interactions and you chuckle along with them. There are some twist and danger mixed in to keep you reading until the end! Can Ridge stay a professional boss and keep Reva as an employee? Will Reva get over her past debt and be able to see her dream come true? With Ridge’s past and all his pain and those who have hurt during his life can Ridge ever really heal? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Ridge is ex-military and owns a security firm and a very protective single dad of six year old Lydia. Ridge has had threats in the past, but now that he is the sole caregiver of his daughter, he takes them more and more serious. He needs a nanny for his daughter, so when the agency sends the first few over, he finds them lacking in all their skills. But when Reva comes to the interview, he wants her for himself and his daughter as she is a strong willed female role model. Will Ridge be able to keep everything separate from professional and personal?

Reva is a trained kickboxer and school teacher. She wants to nanny for Lydia, but will Ridge select her after she got all of the wrong scenarios wrong during the interview? But when he gives her the job, she quickly learns, she is attracted to him in a way that she may not be able to deny for long. Does he feel the same way? Will she be able to keep Lydia safe during the attack? Will Ridge get over his fears and left Reva see the real him?

This book is full of suspense, drama, love, lust and a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

When Reva applied for the nanny position, she had no idea Ridge Carter would be a cutthroat father, arrogant man with extreme expectations, and a dangerous lifestyle that seemed to come straight out of the movies.
Taking on this challenging position will pay off her outstanding debts, get her out of her friend's apartment. All she has to do is follow Ridge's long list of instructions for his daughter's safety and well being, and everything will be just fine. Should be easy right?
Sure, if there was not an electrifying connection between them and Reva was a doormat- when lines become blurred, and expectations are messy, the threats are even more dangerous.

What a heartwarming, single dad nanny romance! Loved the humor wrapped up in some suspense and sexy times!
Great characters and depth this well-written story is a first-time read for me by Blake North, I look forward to more in the future!

This is a cute romance about a tough as nails, exceeding protective father (well there are some pretty bad guys bent on revenge and willing to take it out on his family!) and a down on her luck , because she was too gullible with her credit card and ex-boyfriend, teacher. Reva is very loving and nurturing and giving, which Ridge sees as she speaks about her special needs brother with love and pride. He takes her on as in-home nanny for his daughter, even though he knows his instant attraction to her will be trouble. While Reva tries to navigate all Ridge's rules of protecting and caring for his daughter, she wiggles her way into under his skin and into little Lydia's heart. I enjoyed the give and take between these two and was glad she was strong enough to stand up to him and slap him down when needed. I must say, that I thought Lydia stole the show, though!

This is a fantastic single dad and nanny romance!
The job interview between Reva and Ridge had me in stitches, loved the scenarios that Ridge gives Reva and expects the only correct answer to all the questions to be " Call the father"!!!
The conversations between Reva and her best friend Angela will have you laughing out loud.
Ridge is an overprotective father And needs a live in nanny to take care of his daughter Lydia as he has been receiving death threats from a crime syndicate and needs someone with her all the time.
Reva needs work urgently as she finds her self in debt thanks to her ex boyfriend.
Ridge is instantly attracted to Reva but hides his feelings by being cold and moody. But the more time they spend with each other the more the sparks start flying!! The chemistry between the two is explosive.
Broken Daddy by Blake North is a must read and I highly recommend this book!

“Broken Daddy” is the first book I've read by Blake North and I loved it. I found a new favorite author. This book captivated me from the first page and had me reading through the night. Ridge is a rigid, overprotective single father who needs a nanny for his precocious daughter. There is a threat to Ridge's family so extraordinary measures are taken to ensure their safety. Reva a special needs teacher has lost her job at the private school because of budget cuts. The interview doesn't go well and Reva is very surprised she is offered the job. Can Ridge and Reva continue to ignore the sexual tension between the two of them? Will the threat to Ridge's family soon be eliminated? “Broken Daddy” is brimming with drama, danger, humor, romance and great sex. A must read.

This is the first book I have read by Blake North and it won't be the last.

Ridge hires Reva as a nanny for his 5 year old daughter Lydia, her mother is an addict who doesn't want to be involved in her life. Ridge is over protective of Lydia and doesn't want her put in any danger at all, Reva is a strong person who tries her best to get him to let Lydia ride a bike or play with her friends but he freaks out.
Ridge has been attracted to Reva from the moment he saw her and she feels the same, they both try and fight and hide their feelings.
If you are looking for action and romance look no further, there are some moments in the book you hold your breath hoping for a good outcome, I encourage everyone to read and enjoy this book as much as I did.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Reva and Ridge. In this book we find that Ridge is looking for a nanny to protect the one thing that means more than life to him. Little did he know when he went looking he would find a woman that would blindside him. Reva is looking for a job to get her life back in order and to get off her friends couch. Little did she know the nanny position she applied for her would bring her more than just a chance to start over. Can they find a way to have a HEA or will outside forces break them before they have a chance?

This is an amazing book that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There are some ups and downs that I really want to tell you all about but don't want to ruin it for anyone else. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Well written book with great storyline and plot. A bit different than the usual romance books. Amazing writing style.

I love the couples journey towards their HEA. There is drama, family issues, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry in this amazing story. The twists makes this story different that expected. A really sweet romance. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Like that it has an epilogue.

Lots of chemistry and hot scenes. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter. I like it has an epilogue. The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!

Broken Daddy
by Blake North
Reva Sloan was hired as a nanny to watch over Lydia, Ridge's daughter. Talk about overprotective, that's Ridge Carter to a tee! He likes her very much for what she can do for his daughter, and he also likes her fantasies about her, although he tries very hard to keep her at arms length. Because of his work, right now his family and Reva are in danger. This is a cute and gripping story. Cute because of the fire between Reva and Ridge, but also the relationship between Lydia and Reva. Gripping because everything going on with the antagonists. The interaction between Reva and Ridge is off the charts!

Ridge is an over-protective single dad who owns his own security company, his childhood wasn’t the best and plans to do better for his daughter. Because of his job his daughter may be in danger and wants a nanny who he can trust. Reva was naïve and trusted her last boyfriend with her credit card so she can’t move forward with the center for special needs kids she wants to open. The only job opportunity she has found is for a nanny. Lydia and Reva quickly grow close, Ridge tries to deny his feeling for Reva but the chemistry is to hot. Will danger strike when they least expect it? I really liked this read. Great characters, plenty of steam and lots of suspense.

This is the essence of romance. Take an intelligent, self-assured woman who is passionate about children and add a strong, security-obsessed hunk who zealously guards his family’s safety. Put them together, add an adorable 5 year old who is being threatened by some seriously bad men, and watch the sparks fly!

The author has done a fabulous job of creating rich, engaging characters that keep you wanting to know what happens next. The attraction between Reva and Ridge is intense, and the love both of them have for Ridge’s daughter is stunningly beautiful.

This extremely satisfying read definitely contains steamy scenes, but a surprisingly small amount of mature language.

I Highly Recommend This Book!

I was pulled in immediately upon reading the first few pages of this well written romance between Reva Sloan, and unemployed teacher who was RIF’d from her first teaching job and Ridge Carter, owner of Carter Security and daddy of adorable five year old Lydia. He’s looking for a live-in nanny and she’s looking for a job with benefits so she can get credit card debt in her name paid off that was created by her ex-boy friend. I literally could not put this book down with the chemistry between the well-detailed characters, steamy hook-ups, lust, love and an intriguing and surprising suspense.

📚I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader's copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.📚
This was a tough review to write and truly a 3.5 star read. Here's what I liked...Reva was a strong, independent woman, trying to overcome the damaged left by her former boyfriend. She put her charge's safety and needs before her own. Great character. Lydia, bright, smart, and sassy 5 year old was well written. My problem was Ridge, broken daddy, he was too ridged, too much of a jerk to Reva, and quick to blame her for the chemistry between them. I liked the premise of the story, I just felt Ridge had a stick up his a** most of the book.

Ridge is an overprotective father and he needs a nanny for his daughter.
Reva is in need of money to pay the doubts her ex-boyfriend got into.
Little Lydia is a smart lady who wins Reva’s heart since the very beginning.
Even though Ridge is extremely protective of her daughter, it is understandable it when there are dangerous people after her little treasure.
A funny and well-written book where Lydia is one of the best characters. She is smart, funny and cute.
I love how Reva treats his dear brother, teaching him how to do everything he can on his own instead of doing it for him.

Hot overprotective single dad, falling for his new nanny.

I received an ARC for this book.

He was all about rules and safety when it came to his daughter. If he thought having a nanny would make things easier he picked the wrong lady for the job.
From the first she stands up to him. Challenges him. Even when she walks out of her interview because they had very different views on how things should go. He tries to move on. Until he realizes she is the best person to teach his daughter to become a strong woman.
Just one problem he's ridiculously attracted to her.

First time reading anything by this author and I'm not disappointed. Reva was a kind, caring character who had a wonderful dream for the future. A bad decision and job cuts has left her looking for a new job. Ridge is an overprotective( with reasons) father who is looking for the "perfect" nanny. Reva is the best candidate. Sexual tension and hot chemistry zips between the two. What will happen when they give into their attraction? When a threat becomes real, will they lose everything?

This is a great book that will grab your attention and keep you page turning. This is the story of Ridge and Riva. They meet when he hires her to be his daughter's nanny. He fears for his daughter's life because his security company has been instrumental in putting away a mob boss. Riva is a teacher who needs money to pay off some debts left by her ex. Their chemistry is off the charts. Lots of drama, angst and more twists than a roller coaster. Well written with great characters and an enchanting plot. Sexual tension at it's best. This is a good and charming romance in spite of Ridge's stern demeanor. The relationship between Reva, the nanny and Lydia, her charge is absolutely priceless. Lydia is a ball of energy, curiosity and innocence. The dynamic between Reva and her boss and Lydia's dad, Ridge pulses with awareness and desire. They have the clashes but, it all feels right.

I recommend this nanny romance to everyone especially when the child is so adorable, charming and is the reason for two finding forever love.

We have an overprotective daddy, and I mean ridiculously so. I understand that he had a bad childhood, that his ex-wife was druggie and that he thought that mafiosos were coming after him. But damn, he was obsessive. Then we have his reaction to Reva, I understood that he wanted to be in focus, but again he was ridiculous with her. I liked Reva, I did get a little upset with her about how she was with Ridge, I get you are attracted to him, and I get that you want to help him, but do not let him treat you that way. Luckily he woke up and changed with her...Still enjoyed.

An intense heart warming story of accidental love! He is a busy man in a dangerous job! Ridge Carter needs a Nanny for his little girl Lydia! Reva is a broke unemployed special needs teacher, so she applies. At the interview his ridiculous questions on security set her teeth on edge even as she feels the attraction! The two are in constant conflict even as they try to avoid the inevitable! The final resolution is intense and spectacular! I volunteered to review and Advanced Reader Copy of this book!

Meh

I just didn't click with this book. I didn't think that the character's had any chemistry whatsoever. The book moved too fast in places, then not quick enough in others. There aren't that many sex scenes in this book, but what there is of them, I found really tiring(and not in a good way). There's a decent amount of grammatical errors, more than there should be in an edited book. Sentences keep switching from past to present tense also. I think I'm disappointed in this book more than anything else, the plot had potential, the author just didn't deliver what I wanted.

A wonderful story that I really enjoyed. Great storyline that pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me hooked all the way through to the end. Ridge hires Reva to be his daughter's nanny. Their chemistry and attraction is incredible. I really love the humor infused into this story by Ridge's 5 year old Daughter. This was my first book by Blake North but it definitely won't be my last.

This is such an intense read. This man is so overprotective and overbearing it's pathetic, but understandable as well. With the unknown threat against his family, he's doing all he can to protect his daughter, but keeping her happy at the same time. Watching his little girl open up and grow is amazing, eve if it's driving him bonkers being in the same house as the nanny. I cannot wait to read more by this author.
