The Heartsprings Valley Sweet Romance series celebrates love during the most wonderful time of the year.
Christmas to the Rescue! (Book 1) A Very Cookie Christmas (Book 2) Sweet Apple Christmas (Book 3) I Dream of Christmas (Book 4) Chock Full of Christmas (Book 5)
I loved this Christmas Novel. Full of the Christmas Spirit as the story unfolds into a Christmas Romance. The author is fairly new to me, this only being the second book of hers that I have read. She has not disappointed this reader in either book and I want to read the other two Christmas books that make up this series. Clara Cane decides to take Christmas off from her busy job in New York City. When she arrives home she learns her boss has referred an important client to her to work with over the Christmas holidays and when she was supposed to be spending time with her Dad. When she stops in at her Dad's hardware store she finds that the furnace has quit and it's freezing inside. Then she learns that the handsome repairman is non other than her high school crush. She tries to hide because her hair is wild and curly but her Dad calls her to come meet the guy. Next thing they are staring at each other as her father introduces them. Hoping he won't recognize her she soon learns that he does. The story takes off from there, as friends and even her client tries to throw them together. All readers of contemporary romance will love this Christmas Story. It's good clean Romance with humor added. Readers of Christian Fiction will be comfortable reading this book. I hope you will make it part of your Christmas reading schedule. I downloaded a Kindle ebook from the Kindle Lending Library. A favorable review was not requested. All opinions expressed here are my own.
How in the world can she possibly accomplish so much in a single day??? Clara leaves New York City, takes a bus to "somewhere in New England," a ride we are told takes a few hours. Yet she also manages to get her client settled into a hotel, set up an extravagant window display at her dad's hardware store, ride with the hunky love interest to the junk yard and back, take her client on a little tour of the town, drive out to a dairy farm to visit with a black and white Jersey cow (not actually a thing), bring back supper and eat it with her dad - are they up until like 2am?? In between she has meaningful conversations with everyone she knows and also (we're told specifically) spends an hour at home "freshening up." I got exhausted just reading about everything she was doing.
On the whole, this was a perfectly fine little Christmas romance, if you don't mind your love interest being rather instalovey. Everyone is likable and this is super low-angst, so if you're looking for something relaxing, pick this one up. If nothing else, you'll feel like your life is pretty chill compared to poor Clara!
Never in my life have I heard a young adult say Gah! It was a cute story, but far too many times the author uses Gah. It comes across as an older person trying to write young. Maybe it’s a regional dialect term? I love the cookie twist. 3 1/2 stars.
This series is typical for the Christmas season - sweet and cloying and a touch of the romantic. I agree with some of the other reviews of a 30-something going back to her hometown for the holidays and kindling a romance with a high school crush and being so juvenile in thought and deed. If your looking for a heavy tome, this isn't it. Read this with your hot cocoa and cookies and save Stephen King books for another day.
This was a nice enough book, some character growth and protagonists who were attracted by personalities rather than just because the other was *sexy*. I did find the book a bit slow, and definitely agree with other reviews that the regular use of "gah" by the main character, sometimes more than once in paragraph, was extremely annoying.
I enjoyed this book for what it was, a cosy christmas read.
Loving this series! Can totally see this one as a Hallmark Christmas movie. In Heartsprings Valley they sure know how to celebrate Christmas! Clara is coming home to spend Christmas with her dad and finds out that one of her clients will also be in Heartsprings Valley at the same time. When she runs into her old high school crush, Luke she realizes she still has feelings for him. Enter the rest of the town and who will meddle in the hopes of live and you have a fun Christmas story.
I liked this story because it was something we all realize after a while, family and love are the most important things in life. I loved the small town warmth, the way people help and care for their neighbors. What I liked most was that it was wholesome and good. I could of easily read this with my kids. Overall it was a great read. Looking forward to read the others in this series.
Did I finish this book? No. No I did not. It had potential. The plot was tired but still workable. WhT I can’t and won’t tolerate is an author who thinks a 30 something yr old woman constantly ( a lot, really) says to herself, “ gah”. No. That I can’t do. A writer can’t come up with something, anything else? This makes me think I can write and be published. Maybe I will. Gah!
I first saw this book on social media and was attracted to the cover. I love gingerbread people but don’t like gingerbread at all. It’s part of a series based in a heartwarming up state New York community. It’s a quick read and all about Clara realizing a life is waiting back for her in her precious home town. Also a hunky carpenter named Luke!
An enjoyable, sweet Christmas story with a movie star's assistant, a military vet and a town full of caring, giving people. This is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone.
I enjoyed this book, but I did feel it was a little slow at times. Now saying that it still kept me wanting to read more. I do like these types of books they are a good read.
I enjoyed reading this story because it kept you interested to find out what will happen to the characters. It was an easy read and very well written. I wanted to definitely read the next book.
An enjoyable romance of two people coming home to their hometown and unknowingly to each other. The characters in this story generate feelings of warmth and Christmas love!
A sweet clean romance, and of course Christmas and friends and family. A young woman home for Christmas from her busy life in New York finding her way again back to her roots.
