A Cosy village pub. A secret millionaire. A snowstorm that will change everything.
Introvert Tracey sold her beloved app for millions and now everyone wants to know what she’s going to do next. Burned out and exhausted, she retreats to her Aunt’s pub in Yorkshire for a much needed dose of anonymity. The village is cosy and adorable, and better yet, there’s barely any phone signal. Vinnie was dumped just as he was about to propose. He plans to nurse his broken heart, hiding from everyone until the new year. Being snowbound at the old-fashioned pub for Christmas throws them together. But will Tracy’s true identity tear them apart?

Hi. I’m Rhoda. I write smart contemporary romantic comedy. In real life, I’m a former scientist who now works in intellectual property. The rest of the time I’m a sensible grown up Mum.
I prefer my heroes to be nice guys with a sense of humour and me heroines to be smart and independent. If you like Mhairi McFarlane or Sophie Kinsella, you'll probably like my books tool
I also write women's fiction, often featuring Sri Lankan characters, under the name Jeevani Charika.
A few of my novels have been shortlisted for prestigious awards. If you want to 'try before you buy', you can get a free novella by signing up to my newsletter via my website: www.rhodabaxter.com
Feel-good perfection in a sweet and clean package!🎁🎄 This was a lovely and well-written, though short, holiday romance between tech millionaire Tracey and Vinnie, a young lawyer recently disappointed in love. Both have their insecurities (and a sense of humor) and these make them all the more endearing.
The charming small Northern England village where they meet and become snow bound sounds like a gem; the village folk and their community spirit make their short Christmas holiday extra special. I can not think of a single negative thing to say about this book other than I wish it had been longer so I could have spent more time with the characters!:-)
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author; this is my voluntary and honest review.
A cute fun rom-com. Loved how the roles have been reversed in the rom-com with the female protagonist as a millionaire who chooses to drive around in a chauffeur-driven limo! Bonus: it has all the Chrismassy feels!
Warm, Sweet and Clean Christmas Romance This is a joyous Christmas romance and part of the Trewton Royd Romance series. This novella is sweet and clean. Set against the backdrop of an old country inn/pub, this is a story of ‘misfits’ finding each other. It is also about belonging and love. I have read several of this author’s works and have loved them all. This one did not disappoint. I received a free copy of this book (ARC) and voluntarily chose to share my honest review.
A quietly romantic British Christmas cozy about two "lost souls," each longing for what has been lost, trapped in the same rural Christmastide blizzard. Gentle character unfolding and evolution and delightfully heartwarming setting.
Tracey has sold her company for a lot of money. But now she is tired; she has worked so hard she needs a break. So she goes to her aunt who has a B&B in rural Yorkshire. A chocolate box village where time stood still, at least so it seems. She may be good with computers, but she’s not so good at socialising.
Vinnie has just been dumped. He had wanted to take his girlfriend (now ex) on holiday, to a cottage in picturesque Trewton Royd. He had even planned to propose. But his ex accused him of being boring and too normal… Out of some sense of ‘I won’t let this get me down’ he decides to go on his own. Big mistake. Or not?
I loved this novella. Couldn’t put it down. I loved the people and I loved the setting. Both Tracey and Vinnie feel real, like real-life people. Tracey a bit klutzy, Vinnie attractive AND nice; now there’s a good combination! The story was cosy, romantic, sweet, cute, Christmassy and warm in spite of all the snow ;). The perfect book to curl up on the couch with when the weather outside is frightful.
The adult scenes are behind closed doors.

Belonging - We return to Trewton Royd and meet a special character and discover her story. She first appeared in Snowed In, which is the second book with Pat's Pantry being the introduction story to TR. This is another well written, interesting story by this author, whom I enjoy reading very much.
The story lines are well thought out and immerse the reader into the pages until the end. There are no stupid characters, they're all believable, and very human; and their dialog is realistic. This is a delightful story to read; there's always a good feeling and cheerfulness lingering after reading one of Ms. Baxter's heartwarming stories. I would recommend reading the other two books about TR, but it's not necessary; Belonging is a stand alone. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*
Pat's Pantry - Another well written, delightful, fun romantic story. The main character has an opportunity for love again. The past comes full circle to the present when the young lovers met again after many decades. Ms. Baxter is a wonderful storyteller. The next story set in Trewton Royd is Snowed In. 5*
Snowed In - We return to Trewton Royd and meet more of the village from Pat's Pantry. A quickly read, fun romance with likeable characters that keeps the reader interested until the last page. Belonging is the next book in this series, which I'm actually looking forward to reading. This author always writes an interesting story. 5*
Girl in Trouble #3 - Heartwarming. Funny. Sad. Just perfect. A well written romance that takes the reader through a gamut of emotions. We all know there's a HEA, but the path reaching that point is rocky and gut wrenching. The characters are well developed and realistic, as is the dialog. There's growth in the living these characters face and the reader has a difficult time putting the book down.
I didn't read Girl Having A Ball to which Girl in Trouble is the sequel. This is the story of one of the secondary characters from GHAB. It didn't matter missing GHAB, this book is great on its own. I contacted the author long ago to review her books, whom I found while surfing Amazon, and I'm glad I did. She's a wonderful writer. 5*
Girl At Christmas #4 - Another wonderful book from the Smart Girl series. A well written, easy to read romance that has sadness and laughter among other emotions. This is Lawrence's story, whom we met in Girl in Trouble, along with that book's main characters, Walter and Olivia, who return in GaC. Add in Tammy and a plot that is heartwarming and captivating. The main characters are interesting and realistic, and the interesting plot keeps the reader glued to the pages. While GiT is a good book, reading it before GaC is unnecessary, just worthwhile reading. 5*
The Truth About The Other Guy - A well written romantic comedy where a mother tries to introduce her daughter to a possible husband candidate. It is interesting to read about other cultures and this author draws upon her Sri Lankan roots to weave a fun, quickly read story set in England. I look forward to reading more by this author. I contacted the author to review her books after I found her while surfing through Amazon. 5*
As usual with books by this author (including the one published as Jeevani Charika), I found the characters very "real" and quickly got attached to them. Tracey may be rich now that she has sold an app she created, but of course it didn't cure either her eyes (she has a problem with depth perception) or her uneasiness in social interactions. And Vinnie may find himself newly single just when he planned to propose, but he hasn't lost his sense of humour or kindness. I also particularly liked how they basically say they don't like people much in general (they agree that their respective jobs would be more enjoyable if they didn't involve people) but, when the village is snowed in, are immediately willing to team with others to make sure no one's going to starve or freeze to death.
I definitely want to visit Trewton Royd. It sounds charming. This book is a funny, charming, well-written, feel-good, sweet and clean romance. I loved the characters including the villagers. Even if you are not snowed in, make some hot chocolate, curl up some place warm and enjoy this magical story.
Trust Rhoda Baxter to turn a few timeworn romance tropes inside out and end up making everyone – the central couple and the reader – happy!
Set in a combination B-and-B and pub in a quaint but seasonally cold and dark Yorkshire village, "Snowed In" introduces two less-than-perfect strangers, each of whom has a life-changing trauma to recover from and not much hope of doing it. I should have guessed the author was up to something when Tracey, her socially insecure heroine, hides in an oversized chair and manages (almost) to lose herself in an elderly romance novel involving a handsome millionaire and his obviously self-assured secretary. And when Vinnie, smarting and angry after being dumped by his long-time girlfriend, insists on looking over her shoulder and criticizing her choice of reading. Yes, there's a Christmas party coming up, but these two don't have Christmas in their hearts. Tracey is dissuaded only by a frown from her aunt, the pub owner, from attending the party in the seasonal sweatshirt she's brought, one that says across the front: "Bah, humbug." I don't remember what color it is, if the author even tells us. But it's probably black.
There's a millionaire involved, but it's not Vinnie. There's a glamorous and self-assured woman – a couple of them in fact – but neither of them is Tracey. Still, there's a surprising and touching love story, spiced with Rhoda Baxter's trademark sly and gentle humor. I found this to be a perfect holiday OR non-holiday read.
Tech millionaire, Tracey, retreats to her Aunt’s B&B in the English countryside seeking peace and quiet for the holidays. After booking a cozy cottage for two, Vinnie, out of spite after his girlfriend dumps him, spends the holiday alone in said cottage in the same little town. Tracey and Vinnie’s paths cross, and keep crossing in this sweet holiday romance.
I loved the two characters in this slice of life romance. They are each dealing with emotional hurts but it was fun to watch how they became friends and then finally more than friends. Rhoda has a great way of making her characters feel real and relatable. The dialogue is witty and the ending gives you all the warm and fuzzies you expect from a cheesy holiday romance!
I really enjoyed meeting Tracey and Vinnie! Who would have thought that getting stuck in a blizzard could mean so much to 2 people were seemed to be lost. We have Tracey who has gone home to relax, and figure out what the next step in her life is after her small company was sold. We then meet Vinny who was there on holiday, only he was filled with heart break. The woman he thought he would spend the rest of his life with, ran off with another man. He was trying to figure out what he would do.
The chance meeting of these 2 people at Tracey's Aunt Angie's pub, brings with it a beautiful Christmas story that I'm sure you will enjoy.
Tracey and Vinnie meet in a small English village over the Christmas holidays. She is visiting her aunt who owns a b and b and the local pub. He is there by himself due to life not always turning out the way he thought. This is good though and the book has a happy ever after ending. Thank you to Rhoda Baxter for a delightful read. Looking forward to the next in this series. Loved the part about her being a software engineer with a very successful app.
This was a fun read. I was in the mood for a short book, with a Christmas background, and throw in some cozy romance and bam Snowed In is it! The story is about Tracey, who is visiting her aunt after she sells her app to a bigger business, and Vinnie, the man who booked a romantic trip for his now ex-girlfriend but decided to go anyway. The two keep bumping into each other in the small town and then get snowed in at his cottage. There is a happy ending to this cute story as well. If you are in the mood for a cute and cozy romantic story, I highly suggest Snowed In.
This was a refreshing and quick read. Though it hit all the light rom-com or light romantic check marks, and despite being a novella with less time to do so than a full novel, the characters were well developed and nuanced. And I appreciated that a lot. There was more to their individual stories than their will-they-won’t-they getting together. The romantic bit did seem rushed. I wish we had more time with them together but it’s also a novella…
4/5 not because the book isn't good but because I wish it were a bit longer. Overall the story is a good one. In this case the person looking for some alone time to get over a relationship is a man, which is a nice change. I enjoyed that both were awkward and a bit clumsy. I really wish it were longer so that the characters were fleshed out more.
This is a short and sweet holiday novella. Tracey and Vinny are both staying at a B &B for the holidays. Tracy has just sold her tech company for millions and planning her next steps. While Vinny is spending his holiday alone after getting dumped. This story is very sweet and the audiobook is very well done.
My rating scale: 5☆ - I loved this book and it brought out true emotion in me (laughter, anger, a good cry, etc) 4☆ - I loved this book. 3☆ - I liked this book. 2☆ - I didn't really care for this book. 1☆ - I did not like this book at all and probably did not finish it.
This is the second book in the Trewton Royd Romances series, a Small Town Romance. The characters are great, and the storyline is sweet, and heartwarming. Diana Croft did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it.
