The first two stories were new to me and a pleasure to read. The last three I'd read once before, but enjoyed re-visiting them.

Tengo esta antología de relatos en mi biblioteca desde hace ya un buen tiempo, y estaba esperando con ansias que lleguen las fiestas navideñas para darle una oportunidad. En general, la he pasado bien leyendo estos romances navideños. Josh Lanyon sigue siendo uno de mis favoritos en cuestiones de romance m/m. Felizmente, esto no ha cambiado.
Esta antología tiene 5 novelas cortas, dos de las cuales ya había leído con anterioridad.
Icecapade: 4 estrellas
Esta es una historia de segundas oportunidades, que leí por primera vez dentro de la antología “His for the Holidays”. Todo lo que dije en esa reseña sigue siendo cierto. Me sigue gustando mucho, tanto la pareja como la progresión del romance.
Baby, it’s Cold: 1.5 estrellas
Lamentablemente, esta historia corta no me gustó. Había comprado el audiolibro el año pasado, así que decidí escucharlo mientras leía. Esto resultó siendo un error, ya que malogró completamente mi experiencia de lectura. No me gustó el narrador; además, las palabras del libro a menudo no coincidían con lo que estaba escuchando y, encima, uno de los nombres fue constantemente mal pronunciado.
Poniendo a un lado el audiolibro, tampoco me gustaron los personajes ni la progresión de la historia. Lo que es peor, el triángulo amoroso me fastidió. Una pena.
The Dickens with Love: 3.5 estrellas
Esta historia fue una excelente novela corta, cuya trama gira en torno a la hipotética aparición de un desconocido relato navideño de Charles Dickens.
Me gustaron mucho los protagonistas, especialmente James, que demostró tener mucho carácter. La progresión del romance también me gustó mucho, así como las reflexiones que hace el autor en torno a la moral, la soledad y la familia, todos temas que me parecen muy “dickensianos”.
A Case of Christmas: 3.75 estrellas.
Esta es una historia romántica, ambientada en navidad, con una dosis de acción al estilo policial. Es la que más se asemeja a lo que esperaba del autor. Al igual que Icecapade, esta trama es una de segundas oportunidades, y me encantó ver la progresión del romance de los protagonistas. Cabe resaltar que esta lectura también estuvo acompañada del respectivo audiolibro, lo cual le restó puntos. Fue una mejor experiencia que “Baby, it’s Cold”, pero aún encontré algunas diferencias entre lo narrado y lo escrito.
Lone Star: 4.75 estrellas
Esta es la estrella de la antología. Me gustó tanto como la primera vez que la leí en 2020 y mis impresiones siguen siendo las mismas que en la reseña que escribí entonces. Me encantan los protagonistas, y me gustó ver las perspectivas de ambos. Tiene más dosis de drama que en las otras historias, pero esta fue la perfecta cereza en el pastel de esta antología.
En general, me parece una muy buena antología de romances navideños, recomendable para las personas que disfrutan del m/m.
