RT and EPIC award-winning author D. B. Reynolds brings to print the stories her readers have been waiting for. Ten Vampire Vignettes, including five brand new stories and five reader favorites from her blog, all in print for the first time. They range from the wild and dusty streets of post-Gold Rush San Francisco, to the vicious halls of the U.S. Capitol today, and every place along the way.
These are the stories in between the books, the slices of life that happen as the vampires of North America defend their lives, uncover secrets, and sometimes, simply take a moment to romance the women they love.
As always, be forewarned, there is sex in these stories. But Reynolds’s readers wouldn’t have it any other way!
Vampires in America The Vignettes Vol 2 was a very enjoyable read. I love the VIA world so getting to catch up on all my favorite vamps with cute little stories is so much fun for me. I knew I would get some smexy time with Cyn, Raphael, and the other Vampire Lords and mates. What I didn't expect, but was pleasantly surprised about was the stories about Juro. I loved the story with Juro and Luci, but my all time favorite story in this book was of how Juro and his twin brother Ken'ichi became vampires. I am super intrigued by the hunky Japanese twins and would love more of the sexy twin duo. I would love for Ken'ichi to get his own book. Hint hint!!!! This book was an easy, sexy read that gave me my fix of Vampires in America while I wait for Quinn's book!
A couple of these stories were new to me, but most of the vignettes I had read before on Reynolds website. I liked the one about Amos Cotton/Jared Lincoln and his granddaughter, a delight both this time and the first time I read it. Also good was the Duncan and Emma short; as it had a nice dose of vampire politics, which I always enjoy. My favorite was the one with Raphael and Lucas in 1885 San Francisco, and how they came to meet Juro and Ken’ichi. It had a surprisingly meaty plotline. Oh, and the interviews were cute.
I very much enjoyed the small bits of story and revisiting characters from various books in the VIA series; but I had to read the anthology in small doses. Although fun glimpses into the various couples lives; many of the stories were basically sex scenes and I needed breaks from the sheer repetition. Overall, lots of fun for fans of the series.
Vampires in America: The Vignettes Volume 2 is a collection of short stories featuring couples of the series. The stories were generally short with loads of sex. Although I enjoyed all the stories especially the ones with Cyn and Raphael, my favorite was how Juro and Ken'ichi became vampires. I would definitely love to see more of Juro and Lucy but also Ken'ichi finding his mate. I would also like to add that the dream with Natalie was hot and Ms. Reynolds does give a warning before reading it, I just wish it wasn't included. It doesn't fit her vampires especially if Christian sent those thoughts to her while he slept for the day. Not one of her other vampires would ever be ok with a threesome, so like I said I wish it was left out. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book!
The cover definitely fits in with the series!
This is the 2nd set of vignettes to be released. It is a collection of story stories of extra scenes and information that you may have wondered about. It is definitely for adults only due to the steamy content.
There are plenty of touching moments that are happy, sad, humorous, and more. I’m not usually a fan of short stories, but I love reading the Vignettes to get more information on all my favorite Vampires and their mates. If you love the series, you don’t want to miss out! I don’t want to talk details because then it would ruin it for you, so I will say that all your favorites are here with steamy tidbits, surprises, practical jokes that backfire, and more! I can’t wait for of this world because these Vampires rock!
I highly recommend to all Vampire lovers because D.B. Reynolds is one of my favorites, and you will miss out if you don’t check out her work! I do highly recommend reading in order because it is epically better that way!!
As with The Vignettes, Volume 1, Volume 2 gives readers a delightful, fun and super steamy look into all the fantastic characters of the Vampires in America series that readers just can’t get enough of, or at least I sure can’t.
The individual shorts may be really short scenes but they pack on heck of a punch in the romance and passion department for each of the couples, they are hot and steamy as well as sweet and provide a lot of insight to our characters personalities and what goes in their lives.
And in this volume, D.B. Reynolds provides some extras that she previously published with various blogs such as interviews which made me happy as I missed them before.
As stated above, I can’t get enough of this series and the sexy vampires that inhabit this brilliant world, so I love the extras that the author provides but of course I prefer the full stories so I am waiting impatiently for Quinn to make his appearance and to find out what happens in Ireland.
I Loved these Vignettes!! A fabulous compilation of new and favorites short stories in the Vampires in America series. I don’t want to give anything away but let me say this is a must read for lovers of this series and if you love Vampires and haven’t read it yet what are you waiting for you are truly missing out.
This is really a collection of sex scenes with enough story so that the sex scene makes sense. The snippets weren't horrible but I would have enjoyed more story and less sex.
I love these short stories between books. They are really cool and the women are really smart. I like to keep track of the characters and these stories are perfect.
Should be no more than 3*, but I am being a total fan: frankly speaking , there are only 2-3 stories that shed the light on the past or in any way contribute to our knowledge, history and understanding of characters - Jared and Juro/Ke'nichi stories were particularly enlightening and the interviews were kind of fun - the rest were just gratuitous sex scenes (same-o-same-o, just the names of participants changed) or snippets that really did not bring anything new or interesting. I do , however, applaud author's understanding of the power of shoes.
The Vignettes Vol.2 was an enjoyable read, especially in the holidays season, and I must confess that I liked having more of Cyn and Raphael because they are the original couple and my favorites. But man, the part of Juro and Luci, as short as it was, blow me away.
I missed story some snippets with Sophia and Vincent, and maybe the next Vignettes will bring more goodness about those two and their mates, but what I'm really hoping is a full novel with the twins, because we really need more Juro and Ken'ichi in our life.
absolutely love these snippets ... yes have read some of them previously on the author website but there are a few new ones and it is a brilliant gaze into the VIA world with day to day activities with some of my fave couples. this is one my very favourite series that i have read through several times and will definitely read through several more times .. a great story arc, a well planned and executed timeline, really likable characters a wonderful writing style ... the vignettes fit well with the whole
5/9/18 - the vignettes are fun and i love every one of them. of course - perfectly written and a great addition to the series as a whole
A couple of these stories were new to me, but most of the vignettes I had read before on Reynolds website. My favorite was the story of how Raphael met Juro and Ken'ichi. It had a very interesting plot and I loved getting a glimpse of the characters before they were really established as a power. I would really like to read more about Ken'ichi. We don't know near as much about him as we do Juro and I was surprisingly intrigued by his character.
I will say that several of the smaller stories were basically just sex scenes and so I skimmed the few that I had previously read. There were a few too many of those IMO and would have liked a little more that didn't involve the vampires lords and their mates having sex.
Still overall a good addition to any fan of the series.
A copy of this book was provided to me by netgalley and the publisher with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
This was just like the first volume of vignettes. A bunch of short stories that don't really add much to the whole story and typically only serve to give the couples another excuse to have sex. Some of them were okay, but the majority of them I really could have just skipped. The best one had to be the one where we meet Juro and his brother for the first time and learn how they became vampire.
The last chunk of the book was a collection of blog tour postings the author did. Those were horrible. Most especially the ones from Huff 'n Puff (or however it was put). I really hated the "reporter" that those ones centered around.
A great opportunity to touch bases with many of the Vampire Lords and their Ladies. I really enoyed the stories which provide more insight into the characters personalities. While each vignette is short, they all pack a real punch. Unfortunately, the book ended all to soon. I rated the book over all at 4.5 and assigned it a sexy rating of 5+.
I love this series and have all the books. Ms. Reynolds is an auto buy and must read for me!
It has been my habit to re-read the series about a month before the next full length novel is released. I have to get started since Quinn is coming!
I absolutely love this serial. The vampires are junkie, loving to their mates, protective as hell and just as dangerous. I will and have read everything I can get me hands on. D.B. Reynolds never disappoints. Thank you so much for this wonderful Christmas present. All the stories just give the reader a bit more of a background into the characters we have come to love
The books are outstanding but the vignettes give the reader a glimpse into the characters in an exciting way. It makes them seem more personable. The excitement is still there as in all the books. Not to mention the steamy love scenes. Can't wait for the next installment.
It is so enjoyable when D. B takes you “behind the scenes” with everyone’s favorite vampires. These stories tie perfectly with the series as Ms. Reynolds lets you know where in Time the events happen. A must read for any fans of the Vampires in America series because most of the major characters show up.
I really enjoyed reading this book! D. B. Reynolds has a way of capturing the reader's attention and keeping their attention till the last word is read. I enjoyed every single Vignette and I'm sure everyone else will enjoy. This is a book that I will definitely recommend to others!
The second edition of D.B. Reynolds Vignettes, not only delivers fabulous short stories that fit between the full length novels, but also some fun and informative shorts at the end. If anyone wants a full reading order of EVERYTHING in this series ( cause this is a reread for me, and I've done it in order) feel free to reach out!
Stories were good but some were ones that I had read. But I did know that and the new stories were good I'm not usually a fan of Vignettes But I feel I spent some time with old friends that made it all worth while
I love this series!!!!!!!!! I just finished reading it for the second time. These small insights into the characters and their lives outside of their books is just wonderful. I absolutely can't get enough!!
The first 50% of the book is one sex scene after another. Now I like a good sex scene and DBReynolds does them very well, but I like them as part of a larger story. By the last couple of scenes I was skimming and bored thinking, “Yeah, yeah... so he makes you scream. Ho hum”.
It was good read, just wish there was more short stories. I read a previous snippet before and the rest was just sex, not that I mind. How the twins came to be with Raphael was the best.
Just short stories on all are favorite vamps . My favorite are Cyn and Raphael I eat up all there stories on these 2. Cyn is badass and Raphael is a hunky lord vamp with power and strength.
I enjoyed all these novellas, more than I thought I would. I guess it is because I am so familiar with the characters. I Hope you all have a chance to read more back ground with Raphael and his family of vampires.
