Destiny brings him and his son to Ayr before the holiday. There they’ll discover the true meaning of Christmas.
Loki Grant has never been happier. The winter solstice is almost upon Castle Curanta, his wife is carrying their second babe, his sons are a constant joy, and his new clan is slowly but surely growing. So why is he being kept awake by a recurring dream of an old man in furs? When he discovers his adopted son, Kenzie, is dreaming of the same man, the two embark on a voyage to find him.
After his mother’s death, Fergus MacNicol has felt restless and out of sorts. When Loki and his son pass through Grant land on their way to Ayr on a mysterious mission, he’s driven to go with them. Something tells him this is the path that will lead him to his destiny—the woman who has filled his waking thoughts and his dreams for many moons.
When the group arrives in Ayr, they will meet Bor, the very man who’s filled Loki and Kenzie’s dreams. Bor’s surprising message will change their lives and give them a new understanding of the meaning of family and the solstice holiday.
Loki's Christmas Story is a stand-alone novella. For the richest experience, read LOKI first, the first novel in The Highland Clan Series.
Keira Montclair is the pen name of an author who lives in South Carolina with her husband. She writes fast-paced historical romance, often with children as secondary characters.
If she’s not writing, she prefers to spend time with her grandchildren. She’s worked as a high school math teacher, a registered nurse, and an office manager. She loves ballet, mathematics, puzzles, learning anything new, and creating new characters for her readers to fall in love with.
She considers her work done well when her readers shed tears over her stories, but there’s always a happy ending! Her bestselling series is a family saga that follows two medieval Scottish clans through three generations and now numbers over fifty books.
A great wee Christmas interlude to the Highland Clan Series.
🥧 Highlander clan tale 🥧 paranormal 🥧 found family 🥧 searching for answers 🥧 grief 🥧 a side serving of romance
I would recommend that you read this book as part of the series. There are a lot of characters and if you are not already familiar with them it is a bit overwhelming.
A short but feel good novella following Loki who has recently been given his own castle/clan. Lots of orphans/found family vibes, especially right around the holidays. Very Christmas miracle but it was fun!
This is a good addition to the Highland Clan series. It is just a short novella, but since it features characters that have been in the series all along, there was plenty of character development. This one gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded up to 4 stars.
I still like Loki, and I love that he and his wife adopted little Kenzie, and treat him just like their biological son. The part of this story about Loki and Kenzie having similar dreams was a little weird, but it did make for an interesting story. Their discoveries were interesting, and what they did at the end was wonderful -- though I won't give spoilers.
I liked the additional romance between Fergus and Davina. Davina has been such a sad character in the last couple of books, so it was nice to see her finally find her HEA. Their romance was a little too quick to believe, especially for Davina (with her history of mistreatment by men), but I still liked that they got together.
I also liked most of the other characters, especially little Kenzie, who was so adorable. I loved how he had no problem caring for little Ami, who loved him almost immediately.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Loki's Christmas Story by Keira Montclair The Highland Clan Series Book Eleven After both Loki and Kenzie continue having disturbing dreams of a man dressed in furs, they decide to go to Ayr to find the answers they need. And they find more than they had first planned. The man with the furs knows more about their past lives...than they do.
Fergus MacNicol asks to go along on the trip to Ayr. He has a dream of sorts himself. A woman he met that he believes is the one for him. He only needs to find her—and then convince her he will never harm her and that he'll love her forever.
The three set out, along with some guards, to find the answers to their dreams. Or so they hope. A unique and wonderful story. Tissue alert if you cry when reading. Loved this novella as with all the stories of the Grants and Ramsays. **Sensual content http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Keira Montclair has once again brought us into her world I love the Grants and Ramsey's and the unconditional love that they show their family and all those around them ! I will admit I have the biggest soft spots for Loki and Kenzie!
Loki's Christmas story warms your heart and so many different ways!!
Loki and Kenzie go on a quest to find the answers to the questions about their past and their common dream ! Their journey takes them back to the beginning of both of their journeys ! In this journey they will find their destiny's .
This is a wonderful and heartfelt story!!!!
Keira Montclair has a magical way of telling us her stories and I look forward to every single one ! ! I highly recommend this wonderful book to start off all your holiday reads !
True meaning of Christmas is given to Loki thru a dream of finding an old man ,Bor who kept appearing to him and Kenzie in their dreams. They travel to Ayer where Loki and later Kenzie had lived in a crate behind an inn. Bor was there with a small girl he said found wandering the streets at only 2 years old she had lost her mother. Bor meets Loki and Kenzie and the little girl ,Ami, immediately takes to Kenzie and holds onto him. Read this short novel for a sweet and meaningful reason of Christmas which is called Winter Soltice in the Medieval times. This is a sweet and uplifting book for this is our Christmas season now. MERRY CHRISTMAS and happy reading.
One of the better Christmas stories that deal more with the spirit of Christmas than the actual celebration. Why do we give gifts, what does it mean to be able to forgive and let go without looking back. What does putting love into action look like and how would that change your life? All hard questions with answers found in this sweet story from the Grant clans in long ago Scotland, without a mention of Christ, but still with the love and spirit of Christmas. It may be harder to follow without some of the back story from other books in this series, but still a fantastic read!
Instead of leaving a review for each of Keira's books about the Grants and Ramsey's I decided to wait until I read all of the series. Starting from the beginning with Alex and Maddie and ending with the Band of Cousins.
Do yourself a favor and read all the books of the Grant and Ramsey series. I did and enjoyed everyone. After each book I couldn't wait to move to the next. When I was finished I wished for more, having connected with all the characters. Such delightful reading. If the author ever wished to find a way to write more on these Clams I will be there to read. Thank you for such talented writing.
This story line was a wonderful and thoughtful book on revealing of giving. Loki and his adopted son were from the same dad background but both were meant to be special in their feelings for others. They looked for a end to their dream and found a Beginning to The Mrs ing in life. I especially loved how the author took two misfits and placed them in a roll to find the same meaning to life. This book was so special to me in that Christmas is so much more than things. It's the beauty of the season and the deep living in one's heart.
This story finally came to know what Loki was sent to do in his life and to be guided by the Gods to tell him his past and future....this was very exciting to know what they each were looking for answers that couldn't be explained. Finding truth, love, adopting at the right time and knowing your talking .Loved it so much I can't wait to find out the next clans true destiny and finding love. Thank you for the tales of the Highland clans
Another great story by Keira. This is Loki and Kenzie's story about a man in furs who they dream about. It's sad in a way about all the orphans, and Loki finds out why he's called Loki and Kenzie worries how his parents will feel about him loving his adoptive parents. And we find out who the lady for Fergus is. This was a truly touching story and my heart was involved as well about this story. So glad I bought this book. Felt sorry for Bella but u will have to read about her.
I So rate a high five! This story was magical to me. Our children are the future we need to help them. Although this book was Amazing unfortunately today children um.. Don't understand. And that is because of Adults in today's society 😞 I Totally ask as to read this and her other 📚 ☺
Oh what a great read this is. It celebrates all the love and happiness we all know as Christmas. Bella and Loki deserve to have a lovely and loving family, unfortunately that does not always happen. Sadly this is the last book in the series but it was a fitting end to the clan. Loved the full Series. Now on to the next ones.
This series of the extended Grants and Ramseys were awesome. I was so good reading about their children. My favorite characters are Alex and Loki. There was so much drama, suspense, action, and romance throughout this series. It's a shame that it's ending. Always excellent writing and reading.
I loved this story! I loved the plot this author created for not only Loki and Kenzie, but for Fergus and Davina. This whole story warmed my heart. What a phenomenal holiday story. I look forward to the next story in this series.
A perfect book for the holidays. We learn more of Loki's background and share in the wonder of the season of giving and receiving, with some sorrow, some joy and much love. This book is truly in the spirit of the season.
What a sweet book! I absolutely love this series. I have been hooked from the beginning. Keira is a gifted story teller. I fell in love with Loki when he was first found.
Very much enjoy the characters and how they are developing from previous book into current story. Still bit of conflict/mystery and romance but not overwhelming. Looking forward to next book in this series.
A "feel good" story, as always. It's a novella (short story) but it's good. Some parts of the story you might want to have a hankie or tissues ready. Good fill in story. Gives more insight to the extended families of Clan Grant & Clan Ramsey. Thank you, Ms K. Montclair.
I love spending a few moments each day with the Grant and Ramsey Clans. The honor and strength of family is wonderful, Keira Montclair makes you feel part of the story is amazing.
I have read all the book in the series and I have cried I have laught. But I was always transported to Scotland . I felt like I was there to experience what they when through. Thank you for this 😊❤️💕💘
A lovely story bringing the tales of the Grant and Ramsey clan to closure. A sweet and bittersweet ending to a mysterious dream shared by Loki and McKenzie and the beginning of a wonderful future.
Very uplifting and inspiring story for the holidays. It is fitting that Loki, an orphan, is in a position to take in other orphans o his clan Grant family where love abounds.
I truly love this story was it brought tears of sadness and of happiness. It was filled with mystery, love, laughter, and family, with many promises to keep in the future.
Each book in this series will keep you involved to the last word. Each one tells the story of a woman and their story as well as how they find a love for them that is awesome and how they get through so much diversity. Excellent stories.
Keira did it again I love this story and Will read it again I laughed and I cried both clans are so loving I wish the world could be more like them great job Keira
