Don’t count your chickens… There are no more secrets. The truth is out there for everyone to see. And now, Jill has to make the most important decision of her life. …count your custard creams instead.
Winky in a tux and a surprisingly dark turn towards the end of the book have me hyped up to see what happens to Jack and Jill in the next book. I hope it starts up where this one left off.
One of the most entertaining urban fantasy mystery series out there. Check it out
One of the most entertaining urban fantasy mystery series out there. An extraordinarily awesome cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Jill Gooder a private investigator who meets her mother on her deathbed, her biological mother that is. She grew up as an adopted child. On her biological mother‘s deathbed she was told she was a witch. Now she lives in two different worlds. The human world and the supernatural world. She is still a private investigator and investigates crimes in both the human world as well as the supernatural world. Follow along as a unique cast of characters intermix from both worlds in her life. Also watch out for her grandmother she’s a hoot. Check it out.
Aunt Lucy is moving, Kathy wants to open a bridal shop and a zombie breakout is due to happen. There's also a nail salon that's going to open but it's really funny just how unprepared the owner is.
We find out who owned Winky and what his name really is. Amber and Pearl's shop is attacked, there's a murder or two, there's two or three witchfinders that are after Jill (if they get to her they will kill her) and because of something Jack does Jill has to figure out what her next step is since a misstep could end her career forever.
It's a pretty standard story in the series with some serious material mixed in with some pretty funny things that happen.
I want to rate this book along with the twenty-three previous books of the series. Adele Abbbot is a fantastic story teller. I tried to take a break after book thirteen and only got 4% into a different authors book when I had to go back and start book 14. I have been reading for at least 70 of my 74 years and This has been the most entertaining, clean, funny and enjoyable set of books I have EVER read!!!!! Thank You, Adele. If there was a way to stick this review on the first book, I would be glad to do so.
Witch is Why It Was Over (A Witch P. I. Mystery Book 24) Review
Dear Adele, another excellent short story with great humor and fun. I have enjoyed reading 24 books in this series was enchanted by them all. Jill is something else and your imagination is fare and funny. I highly recommend reading your stories to anyone interested in reading interesting and creative stories. Thanks for the entertainment.
Jill once again has a deluge of work. Finding a murderer is just the tip of a Titanic sized iceberg. While the tall tales continue, Jill seems a little more mature in this episode which is good. Fixing family problems in all three worlds is mammoth task. I've come to the conclusion Winky needs to top up Jills credit card. That is one savvy moggie. The ending is a shock that I wasn't expecting. Thank you once again Adele Abbott for the laughs and the saddness.
Most of Adele Abbott's about Jill Gooder are fairly lighthearted fare. Sure, there are murders, but they are an unknown characters. Things are getting a bit more serious for Jill. The series is almost over. Let's hope that things come out right in the end. BTW, I think that Babs is jealous of Barry's success. She is going to end up with a modelling contract and break his heart. Poor Barry!
The Witch PI books are such fun stories that I eagerly devour when each new installment is released.
Jill and her very eclectic family are divided between humans and paranormals and I can never guess where the story will turn. Each book is an easy light hearted read that you won't be disappointed with!
My goodness, this book has a lot going on for all concerned, including the animals. Barry has a chance to be famous and Winky inherits. Kathy quits her job and Aunt Lucy finds a new abode. Jill solves a murder and deals with some Ghost Town trouble. My favorite part, though, is the surprise ending, which is a bit of a cliffhanger.
Ma Chivers is planning something big, Kathy wants to start her own business, Mrs. V and Armi are taking a big step and Aunt Lucy is moving- how will Jill balance her life with a big case?
Had been expecting the ending for some time. Shocked what actually happened. During a sad time, a revelation and expected time finally. Cannot wait to continue to the next chapter.
Absolutely wonderful characters that interact with each other beautiful! Fabulous plot twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this series.
That's all I'll say about that! About time! Another season is almost upon us...what will happen next?? 5 stars...highly recommend this series! I adore it!
Really big crimes, cheating, vegetables and fish a cat in a tux. What you think I am imagining this? Death, sadness and loss. New homes and never a dull moment.
This was an excellent book and I would recommend this book to any one who wants an excellent read.I look forward to reading more of this author's work.
