From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author R.G. Alexander, Book 4 in the Children of the Goddess series. His life was stolen to keep their secrets… It has taken years for Liz to lay the past to rest. Now she has been called to find the only man who can save her friend from the Shadow’s mark. Tracking him means chasing down a secret some want buried forever—and man they want dead. A man with an eerily familiar face, whom she craves with an intensity she can’t explain. Hannah, an Unborn, never considered herself anything special, but she and Jasyn have something that is.... until it's all taken away. She’s not a fighter, but she’s willing to do whatever it takes to find her heart’s desire and force him to see her as an equal at last. Or die trying. With alliances on the line and lives in danger, these two very different women must save their men, and come together to discover the truth…and destroy the Shadow once and for all. This book contains explicit sex. Sex on the stairs, sex in a tree, sex with two, (and sex with three). Vampires mating. Werewolves mating. And a lot of gratuitous ass kicking. Midnight falls

4TH Book in R G Alexander’s series, Midnight falls I found to be readable enough- and hot! The problem has been all along in this series that the plotting comes across convoluted as the author is also attempting to build rather political intrigue with big bads subterfuge and wars and rumors of wars. So much so that you kind of end up scratching your head through most of it, attempting to keep everything straight as to why things are happening and for what purpose.

In Midnight Falls we follow Liz, the former leader of a protective Clan of ass kicking females, from Europe to the United States in her attempt to rescue one of the werewolves alpha’s brothers and thereby figure out what is going on with a much beloved mentor who’s mind disappeared from her body about the same time he disappeared. Meanwhile, Hannah- a woman very much in love with Jasyon, the missing werewolf- or Trueblood in Alexander’s world- gets a power boost from the children of the powerful Unborn and Truebloods to help Liz on her journey. Both find what they were looking for and then some.

But before the rescue, Liz meets a mysterious shifter who claims her as his- even tho it was the last thing she ever suspected happening, having lost her husband and the love of her life to the early machinations of the shadow wolves and Hannah discovers she’s more than the human she thought she was- even without her added magic.

Because of a mysterious attack Liz’s new mate is left with no memory of who he is and where he comes from and reduced to an animal state of awareness. Something about him early on reminded me of a character in a Kresley Cole book (Demon from the Dark) and- just as I did with that book- I fell for the uber alpha "Me Tarzan, You Mine" routine. In fact he became less interesting for me once he got his wits about him. Still, its he and the mystery of who he is that kept me reading.

This series is erotica- ménages galore- and the sex is fairly graphic though nothing that you haven’t seen already by today’s standards. But it’s the paranormal romance that keeps me coming back. I just wish she’d simplify the plot a bit or learn to tell it without making me wonder who the hell we’re talking about half the time.

3.5 out of 5.

OMG...I absolutely love this series. This book is another winner. All of our favorite characters are gathered together in this installment with a common goal, of which I can say no more. There are two primary couples; Hannah and Jasyn/Midnight and Liz. I enjoyed both couples equally. If you haven't had the pleasure to read this series you owe to yourself to read it, you won't be sorry.
If you have read the previous three books then you have to get your hands on this one, it's a winner.
Highly recommend.

I can not say enough about this book. I loved it from start to finish. Twin brothers one lost what murdered. An unborn reborn to become the trueblood mate of one. Shadows practicing dark arts to keep chaos and anarchy with so that weres and Trueblood and the Unborn cannot live in peace. Can not wait to dive into the next.

Children of the Goddess #4
This was a good addition to this very entertaining series. It had two romances in it. One new and one not so new that finally gets its Happily Ever After.

WARNING this book does leave one of my favorite characters unaccounted for, at the end, and the book that explains his absence, Eternal Guardian (Children of the Goddess #4.5) is no longer available in e-book format or print!

The only problem I've had with this series is that the books are not long enough. When I get done. I always feel like there should've been so much more. I don't know how to explain it, except to say that there are times when I turn the page and actually end up going back to make sure that I didn't skip a page.

The authors writing is very entertaining and engaging. It keeps your attention and keeps you interested in the story throughout. It's good and I like it. However, if she added more… Filled in some of the blanks. Added more description to the story, the characters, the intrigue, the fight scenes and the emotion, I believe that her stories could go from being good to epic. Enjoy!

Awful ending to a bad series

***Spoiler alert***

I didn't like the duo story and narrators. It was confusing and had to figure out who was talking when.

I didn't like how weak Hannah was. Without the kids powers she would have been completely useless.

Nothing made sense about why he was put in a cave or why they wanted him back.

I absolutely hated how Nicole the was killed. The whole book was about saving her, why have her die right at the end? Why hint at Wyley being a match for her? It just wasn't needed. Everyone else in every other story survived, besides the bad guys, she didn't need to die.

What happened to max?

I didn't like this book, I'm peeved this is how the author decided to end it. I get that I read these mainly for the smut and knowing they weren't great but come on! Seriously!?

The mythology in this book is fresh and very, very clever. I really like the world that R.G. built and I couldn't help but read the rest of the series. As a whole, this series is freakin' awesome with some twists and turns that never even crossed my mind. Brilliant stuff! You'll see this same review for all four books, though the ratings may vary a little. Midnight Falls (Children of the Goddess, #4) by R.G. I'm not certain this is the end, though it's all that currently exists of the series. While of course, it includes threesomes and exhibitionism (this IS an R. G. Alexander book, after all, lol), I really enjoyed the story and the relationships and the magic. Not so much mythology in this one, but a lot of things were resolved. I feel kind of sad that I don't have another one waiting to be read. There were a couple of things left unresolved, however, so maybe there will be another one in the future.

An erotic take on the standard Vampires, Werewolves and Magic oh my. Children of the Goddess has all the usual paranormal creatures but in a much more compromising position. This series has an ongoing plot, repeat characters and constant introduction to new faces. This is not your standard erotic romance there is straight, gay and bisexual encounters so be warned.

Best of the 4

I'm sad as far as I know this is the last of the books in this series. I shall miss these characters. Hopefully the Will speak to R. G. Alexander and be resurrected again. Til then on to the next book, there are so many. Huggs

Excellent wrap up

Liz has always been a hard character to empathize with in every book. The author does an excellent job of explaining all the layers of Luz and Malcolm. The explanation of the great conspiracy was really detailed which made it so very easy to believe.

Book 3 was better, however it does tie up the series. Alexander does not fail with her erotic prose, and this little book is just as hot and steamy as her last.

I could have done without the Jasyn and Hannah parts, but the Midnight and Lizbeth parts were on fire.
