Informative, but…

Read this book for a class I’m taking to become an educational leader. While this book did open my eyes to the future direction of education, it was a lot of “what” and not much “how.” I would have liked some examples of successfully transformed schools and more quotes from leaders currently in the trenches regarding best practices in adapting to this era of hyper change. Also, some of the content was very redundant. This book could have been 40-50 page shorter, if repeated sentences (different words conveying the same message) were removed. Some chapters were a bit of a slog to get through.
Overall, I don’t regret reading this but I feel like I now have more questions than answers.

This book is a must have for any educator and especially for school level and district leaders. The authors make the case for the need of leadership and education to change based upon previous educational paradigms. They then make the case that this change will continue to happen and at faster rates that demand leadership be prepared to lead in. I highly recommend it!

DNF. It was a bit irrelevant as a teacher with no aspirations for leadership. Nice insight though.
