We've said our vows. For better or for worse. She thinks she could so easily take my place. I will not be defeated. I am prepared. Prepared to fight for our ending. Because I am going to rewrite it.
I really, really enjoyed the first book, Copperfield Lane, and was looking forward to the conclusion of Lawson and Lena's story, and it PAINS me to say this, but this was a disappointment. As I mention in my last review, this book is TOTALLY different. I don’t want to give away spoilers, but if you read the last book, you know Aria is nuts… well she goes OTT psycho that would rival any Harlequin crazy OW. Add in a former mercenary/dark vigilante best bud/bro (who appears out of nowhere), and this lost the relatable feel for me. **Does anyone know if Benny is from her Tactical Men series??**
Another issue (for me) was the drastic personality changes of our MC’s. She’s a hair dresser and he’s a tattoo artist; they aren’t mafia or criminals… they’re not even thug teens we see is so many books…they’re a couple having marital problems, but it somehow spins into OTT military-esqe maneuvering with guns and knives. I just couldn’t reconcile this version with the Copperfield Lane version.
Bottom Line- Not bad, just so different from what I was expecting. I might have enjoyed it more if I didn’t read the last book, so when the storyline went all Lifetime movie… I’d just go with it, but I did read it, so this one was a bummer for me.
Okay crazy psycho wannabe OW decides to focus on a married man. A married man who doesn't and never wanted her! She is certifiable and she is trying to kill the h and be with the H. For goodness sake, he won't want her after she's killed his wife but she is that freaking crazy and it gets bad. I love how the hero fights for his woman but what I really loved how the heroine fought for herself and her family. She was awesome. Loved this novella and the first book too. I am not going to read the prequel because I am happy with the story I read. I don't want to go back in time. I loved the epilogue too. It really is a good story.
Blurb: This is book two in the Copperfield Lane Novella Series, book one must be read before you read Rewrite Our Ending.
We've said our vows. For better or for worse. She thinks she could so easily take my place. I will not be defeated. I am prepared. Prepared to fight for our ending. Because I am going to rewrite it.
Rewrite Our Ending is the continuation to Selena and Lawsons story from Copperfield Lane. A married couple going through the motions of married life that took a very wrong turn.
Selena is trying to drag herself out the darkness after what went down. Her physical scars are healing but her mental scars run very deep. She’s afraid to leave the house. She wants to fight her way back from the dark and Is finally trusting in Lawson for help. She has a long way to go but with love on her side she can do anything.
Lawson is still very much in love with his wife. While they have a threat looming over their head he brings his marriage back from the brink. He revels in the comfort of the old Selena and tries to help her back from her mental torment. He’s harboring secrets that he feels are done to protect Selena and London. When he finally opens up to her they become an unstoppable force.
It is important to read Copperfield Lane before starting this story. So many questions are answered. You go through the motions of Law and Lena and you want to side with both of them. Let’s not forget the evil that is Aria and you get some insight as to why she is bat crap crazy. Still doesn’t excuse her actions.
I was happy to see these two come back together and make it stronger than ever. We also get to see a glimpse of Caroline and Benny. Will these two make it into future books? I feel we need their story.
First off, if you read Copperfield Lane, then you know Rewrite Our Ending is a must-read! It continues with Selena and Lawson's story and their endeavors with a crazy woman thinking she can have what doesn't belong to her! I absolutely love both of these characters! Selena is a mother and wife who is doing her best to keep everything together. She is falling apart on the inside, but she's strong and determined. I love how the two of them weather this storm and refuse to allow someone to break them. There is big element of mystery and danger in this book, but JL Long also brings the romance! I definitely recommend both Copperfield Lane (book one) and Rewrite Our Ending to romantic suspense lovers!
I'm sad to say that is book disappointed me ☹️ I really, really enjoyed the first book, Copperfield Lane, and was looking forward to the conclusion of Lawson and Lena's story. Unfortunately, this book felt rushed. Thrown together. I got none of the feels that the first book gave me. Boo.
Wow I just finished and I already want to go back in and read again. I love Law and Lena sooo much its just fact. Law is yummy yummy❤❤ Now lets just say I need to know Benny more what what. Love is what this book is and all about. Must read series!!!
It's terrifying to think that in reality a crazy person could insinuate themselves into your life like this I certainly did enjoy the action, tension and suspense....and the fact that Selena got to release her inner bad biatch and get the upper hand on the psycho.

Holy crap! The emotions I felt while reading this book made me feel like I was on a roller coaster! An amazingly well written story of how true love will conquer all!

"Nothing in this life can break love. It'll shake it, it'll knock it back, but it'll never break."
Rewrite Our Ending is the second book of the series and the conclusion to Copperfield Lane. It picks up right where we left off with Lena still recovering from a vicious attack from an unknown assailant sent by her husband's stalker, Aria.
The physical scars have healed but the mental ones still torment her and set back all the progress she made in the attempts to get her marriage with Lawson back on track. This time she is the one to hide within herself and it's left to Lawson to break down the barriers once again forming.
He will stop at nothing to 'honor his vows' and protect her at all costs. However, Lena doesn't take this lightly and refuses to take a backseat and be left in the dark when it's her family at stake.
Lawson and Lena are an unstoppable couple that, for me, have come full circle. They have a great storyline that puts you on a rollercoaster of emotions. There are highs. There are lows and you can't see what is around the bend.
I love how raw, real, and relatable this couple was. It wasn't always sunshine and daisies for them but they are the epitome of how true love prevails. They suffer through real life struggles and had to lean on and confide in eachother to overcome the things that haunt them.
I love how strong and determined they are. All the horrible things they had to come through didn't thrawt them, not in the least. On the contrary, it is the catalyst that brought them together again and even closer than ever.
Even though they 'drifted apart', and even though they have a 'long way to go and a shitstorm of debris to walk through' they 'will make it to the other side together.'
" If we hadn't fought for what we have, we would have never been able to rewrite our ending."
I gave this book five stars because J L Long sure knows how to deliver a good story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Her characters are strong yet vulnerable. They love hard but fight even harder. I will definitely be looking into more work from this Author.

*️⃣So , basically , the first thing you need to know is , this duet has major angst in form of OW drama.
*️⃣In both the books , this OW Aria is obsessed with Lawson and she wants to take Selena's place.
*️⃣You won't believe the lengths she went to , to give the couple trouble.
*️⃣Among other things , Aria too becomes the reason that the MCs start rethinking of there marriage.
*️⃣We all know that the 'spark' kind of burns out after a few years of marriage , and you gotta work through it.
*️⃣These reasons are SO BEAUTIFULLY explored in this book.
*️⃣I love how the author hasn't glazed over and discuss and explored REAL life problems in this book.
*️⃣THIS is EXACTLY how you write a marriage in peril romance novel.
*️⃣And I have noticed that many books about "marriage in peril" , usually has one stupid MC , who sees and believes the lies that the OW/OM tell them.
*️⃣But , that's not the case here.
*️⃣Both the MCs wee sensible and understanding , and ......... it was like reading about my parents . Seriously , I felt like......... yeah , this is something that could have happened with my parents when I was 4 years old.
*️⃣It felt down-to-Earth , and ...... it was relaxing.
💠💠AND DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE HEROINE.--->💠💠
😂🤩For the fans of Bollywood , do you remember what Anushka Sharma did to all those people who killed her husband in the movie "NH10"? That's EXACTLY what Selena did to Aria at the end of the duet in Book#2.
😂🤩For the Hollywood fans , imagine what Wanda would do to the woman trying to constantly flirt with Vision. THAT'S what Selena did to Aria at the end of the duet in Book#2.
🅾🅾SPOILERS-🅾🅾
✅Both the MCs have been childhood friends , not exactly friends though , but , acquaintances , cause hs brother was Hs best friend. ✅The H and h actually bonded over hs brothers death. ✅Neither were virgins when they met. NO mention of previous partners. ✅Neither in love before. ✅When the Book#1 starts , they are already married with a 4 y/o daughter , London. ✅No-cheating. ✅The h , because of Aria , doubts SEVERAL times that Lawson is cheating , but he's actually not. ✅OW drama - well of course , DO NOT get me started on her , she was......... god , I CANNOT even tell you to what lengths she went to destroy L&S's life. How much time does she have on her hands?! Info about the OW- She is Lawson's frequent client , Lawson does NOT feel ANYTHING for her. She is NOT an ex. But she likes Lawson a LOT. She starts making even more appointments at the Hs shop , and when he tattoo's her , she takes off all her clothes and usually gets tattooed in intimate places. Lawson is a good businessman , and does not want to come off as a rude asshole , so at first he does not notice it. But later , when he sees that it's affecting his marriage , he starts realizing that maybe Selena thinks that he is having an affair , he IMMEDIATELY puts a stop to it. But NO MATTER WHAT , Aria is not leaving them till the h puts her in her place in book#2 . It's kind of a sick obsession of Aria's. 💥💥TRIGGERS-💥💥▶hs brother died off-page , before the book started. He was married and had a kid , but now his wife is married to some other guy. ▶h is attacked and nearly killed in Book#1 , but we see A COMPLETE TRANSFORMATION OF HER in Book#2 , god I LOVE LOVE LOVE her. ✅SMUT-A little bit of daddy kink. 7/10. ✅I won't tell you how she took revenge , you better read it. ✅HEA.
I forgot how much I truly loved this couple and their story, until I read Copperfield Lane again and started this one. I realized how much I truly missed them and their crazy. And crazy it is!!
Just a little recap from Copperfield Lane: Lawson and Selena find their marriage in a rut like no other. While in said rut, a crazy redhead tries to sneak her way in.
Even in the midst of struggles and confusion, their love still shines. Even though their flame is dimming, all they need is one little spark to ignite it back to a full blaze. And that's exactly what happens. Aria, the crazy redhead, thought she would and could tear them apart, but she just brought them closer together. Closer than ever before.
But even with them growing closer and refinding themselves and their love, they still have to deal with the crazy world wind that Aria is putting them through. Which isn't easy, nor a walk in the park. Lawson and Selena are each willing to go to bat for what they want and love most in life, each other and their family.
I love stories like this. Where the couple is already married and in love, and the story is a tale of real life struggles and pain of a marriage. Because let's face it, anyone who is married can say, it's never always easy. There are arguments, heartache, and husbands are complete pains, but when you can step back and realize your love and each other are worth the fight, then you know it's real. That's when it's beautiful. Just like this story.
I loved Lawson and Selena's determination to not give up on each other. To try and find a way in the midst of the chaos. Because they were worth it.
"You need to learn how to fight together, not alone. How you need to talk to each other and not let life separate you."
They say Revenge is a dish best served cold; they also say Revenge is an act of passion however, I prefer, Love conquers all.
Rewrite our Ending had all of above and so much more.
My heart broke for Lena. For one person to have to fight, and retain the will to fight when it feels like the cards were stacked against you – takes perseverance and heart. Lena had to fight herself more than Aria in this story. She not only had to fight for herself, but fight for family and what was rightfully hers.
And oh Lawson… I LOVE me some Law <3
Law had Lena’s back at every turn. The love and support he shows Lena and London are that of a fierce and loyally loving husband. Although he too, harbored his own secrets, when Lawson and Lena bring everything to the surface, they are an unbreakable force. Together they fight, together they conquer and together their love is the be all end all.
JL has an uncanny way of turning words into an emotionally filled, page turning, heart gripping tale where the end of the story comes faster than you desire and leaves you wanting more! This is an absolute MUST READ!!
To say I didn’t feel real life with this book would be to deny myself the feelings I felt reading this book. From the first Book CopperField Lane we meet Lena and Lawson, and the home wrecker Aria of course too. I can’t begin to describe how this story from start to this finish has pulled me into an emotional rollers coaster of up and downs, Law and Lena will not give in, yeah a few years have passed since they started their whirlwind love a baby came and life fell into the everyday routine, connections felt lost, time seem to play against them, words couldn’t come, Aria can’t help but dabble her fingers into their lives and try to steal Law, little does she know Lena is about to ReWrite all their endings and it’s definitely something you don’t want to miss, mystery, suspense, angst, heat, heart ache, and passion. Don’t miss this series, it’s definitely as real and raw to what we see in daily life and feel sometimes too as it can get, all the while showing you it’s worth it to fight for what’s yours.
Where to even start, Mind blown again. Selena and Law are unstoppable together as a couple, trials and error, can’t stop their love or what they have built on CopperField Lane together. Aria can try her hardest to rip, tear and destroy what they have but can the power of love overcome, sometimes the mystery of passion can be deadly. JL Long brought a series of real life, relatable life to this series, as we wrap into the ending with this one, the emotions are out of this world. This was an amazing series from start to finish, beautifully written and well worth the time reading it. I highly suggest you read CopperField Lane first before diving into this one. Mystery, romance, suspense an emotional roller coaster you don’t want to miss.
They are pretty toxic to each other, constantly lying, making empty promises and sweeping things under the rug. Idk. The book was also incredibly unrealistic. Someone broke into your home, tried to unalive you and escapes but the next day you are letting your 5 year old daughter take the dog outside by herself?! Or going to the store and leaving your child unsupervised?! Or how about putting everyone in danger by celebrating their anniversary knowing there’s a killer looking for them? It makes no sense at all. The way the story was told left me feeling like their relationship is not everlasting and soon, they will find themselves facing the same problems that were never fixed from book 1.
What an amazing story of a love so strong between a husband and wife it can conquer all, even a crazy woman. Lena and Lawson will not let a crazy woman destroy their marriage, they will fight her with all they have. This is my first book by this author and I will be reading more, I could not put this book down
Rewrite Our Ending is the conclusion of Selena and Lawson's story that started in Copperfield Lane. This book definitely picked up right where the first one ended. I love how protective Lawson is over his wife and daughter. This story was really good that I read it in an hour, I couldn't put it down.
This was the best story in this 3 book series! I loved it! I enjoyed the happy ending and was happy with how it ended. Make sure you read these in order. Do not start with this one.
I sure hope Carolyn and Benny get a book! I remember Benny from the first book - Selena thought he was hot!
Second book to Copperfield Lane and I'm honestly perplexed. How did we go from the marriage in trouble/ crazy ow shenanigans, to what we have in this book? It makes no sense. Everything was different including the main characters. It's like we got totally different people here. 🤷 I have no idea actually only that it was disappointing
When I finished Copperfield Lane and it ended with a cliffhanger I wasn't sure book 2 could be as good, Rewrite Our Ending was the perfect ending to the story. Thank you for sharing this with me it was amazing.
Oh my!!!! I've been waiting for the ending to this story. This book was amazing. I absolutely loved this book. My emotions were all over the place while reading it. Such a powerful story of TRUE LOVE.
I enjoyed this part of Lawson & Selena's story. I accidentally stumbled on this next part as I completely forgot I read 'Copperfield Lane Book 1' and remember wanting to look for the next installment. I am hoping there may be something with Carolina and Benny too.
This is the 3rd and final short in the novella series. You must read them in order. What an intense ending to Lawson's and Selena's story. Full of drama, action and love. Will the psycho win or will Law and Lena be standing together when all is said and done?
