If Luke Knight could change anything about his life, it would be the day his nephew died. Filled with guilt, Luke lived a lonely existence. Until the day an angel crashed into his truck... and struck his heart.
Anna Stubbs knew one thing without question: God has a reason for everything. Her optimism and faith shine from within, and no matter how hard Luke tries, he can’t ignore it.
When life throws an unexpected curveball, both Luke and Anna will need to reach deep inside themselves this holiday season, and learn to have faith that God is in control and duck slippers truly are a man’s undoing.

I adore a CP Smith hero. She knows alpha, and she writes it well. This is sweet touching story of two people, both alone, being there for each other when they needed it most.
Luke was a loner and broody after experiencing a devastating loss. He had tremendous guilt on his shoulders and didn't feel he deserved any measure of happiness. When he first sees Anna, it just adds to his bad mood because he thinks she is unattainable. A broken furnace brings them face to face, but another tragedy brings them as close as two people could ever be.
Anna was a spunky and sweet heroine. Recently back in her hometown for the holidays, she longs to spend some time with her brother. When he has to leave town, she is alone and feeling sorry for herself. She can't help but think of the sexy stranger who she has spotted a couple times. She is at a loss to find him, until he is delivered to her on a silver platter by way of a broken furnace.
-no cheating -no ow drama whatsoever -om drama - her brothers band mate likes her but causes no relationship angst for the couple at all -no pushing away - no abuse of any nature -instalove -short and cute epilogue one year out

My first ever C. P. Smith book and I loved it! It's a beautiful christmas story.
The story is about Luke and Anna.
They both had lost someone they loved (family members) and there's guilt and grieving. They were lonely and they met at the right time. They healed each other and learned to forgive and to move forward.
It was short but I felt so much emotions with these two. They deserved their happy ever after.
Quick little Christmas novella that will pull at your heart strings, believe in destiny, Christmas miracles, and the power of love at first sight. This novella is less than 100 pages so I'm not going to say to much, but, I will say, this is one of those feel good reads that will have you sighing in contentment after reading the small (but perfect) epilogue.
I love C.P. Smith's alpha hero's and enduring heroines, Luke and Anna are perfect examples of why I love her characters.
* Thank you C.P. Smith for gifting this sweet novella to me!!
This was just ok. At least I got an epilogue. ~Celibate hero and heroine. ~Some OM drama. ~Safe.
What I didn't like so much was the heroine, after her brother was almost on his deathbed, she slept with the hero, I guess her priorities are very different from mine because I wouldn't have sex with someone while my brother is almost dying. Lol Yes I know it's fiction and all. I also think she kinda acted a bit pathetic. Now this is just my opinion.
I knew right from the get go that I wasn't going to love this book. Thank goodness it was short because I may have had to put it I my Did Not Finish shelf.
This is such a fantastic novella, and perfect for Christmas. I have read and loved, every single thing CP Smith has written, in my eyes she can do no wrong, and she has proven that once again, with this gorgeous short story that shows the power of looking at things from a different perspective, when you have spent so long only thinking one way.
Luke Deacon Knight (fantastic name) has become a complete Scrooge since his nephew died 4 years prior, a tragedy, he blames himself for. A chance meeting during a snowy accident, with the beautiful Anna Stubbs has him rethinking the past and once again believing in a future. When another accident happens, Luke is Anna's saviour, staying by her side and both of them finally getting the Christmas miracle they deserve.
A perfect, heart warming story of love, family and forgiveness, I could read this over and over and never get enough of it!
CP Smith is the expert of writing Alpha males and the quirky yet lovable women who bring them to their knees. She is the only author that makes me fall in love with Love over and over again. It's always in the journey, that's not always pretty and challenging more often than not. It's in the eyes where the characters hearts shine through even after a tragedy. This story pulled at my heartstrings and I'm sure it will pull at yours too. Miracles happen everyday we just have to open our hearts to experience them. I highly recommend this to all my book friends.
Are you looking for a short, swoony, easy-to-read Christmas story that's heartwarming and fun and has a positive message? Then you want to get Luke!!!
Luke has a very good (heartbreaking) reason for being a Scrooge. But when he collides with Anna, his walls start to crumble... and quickly! Anna is definitely his angel and helps light the path he needs to let go of the past and lead them to a treasured future together.
For this being a short story, so much beauty was packed inside that by the end it felt like a full length book. I can't wait till it's time to revisit Luke and Anna's story again and be swept away.
Wonderful quick Christmas read! Luke & Anna have a fun story that still tugs at your heart. Watching this "Scrooge" regain his heart & faith while falling in love was a sweet ride. : )
Such a beautiful and heartwarming story! After a tragedy in Luke's life, he shuts down and shuts out everyone around him, until Anna crashes into his life. Can she help Luke see life differently through her faith? This was the last story I read in this series, and I loved each one of them. Most of them was my first time reading something from that author. Each of these authors are definitely on my radar now.
I adore this authors work. Her books instantly get me hooked. From the first page to the last I can’t put them down. This short novella was the same. Made me cry and swoon all through. A real Alpha this guy Luke. Loved his name. Such a fab combination of names to pick together. Loved who they represent too. Highly recommended this book and compilation of authors.
The only thing that would make this better is if it were a full length novel. For a novella though, it packed a punch. This author always puts so much emotions into her writing that you feel like you're living it yourself, and this one doesn't disappoint.
This was a cute holiday novella. I love C.P. Smith and she can write an alpha like nobody's business. I honestly wish this story was a little longer, but I really enjoyed it. Read it in about 45 minutes, to give you an idea of how quick it is:)
Super romantic short story! Loved the characters and the story. Tugs at your heartstrings for sure! Might have shed a tear or two as well. I always finish a story by this author wanting more...
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Luke: A Scrooged Christmas, is a sweet, lovely holiday romance I gobbled in one sitting.
Luke has been struggling with the holiday season since he lost his little nephew. The guilt he carries led him to push everyone away. That is until Anna, the image of an angel crashes, literally, into his truck.
Anna is coming back home after getting her degree. It’ll be the first time without any of her parents there, and the prospect of spending the holidays alone is not a happy one.
Fate has other ideas, though, as Anna and Luke keep crossing path every time they turn around. Their attraction is undeniable, but a couple of things will stand in their way.
I really enjoyed both Luke and Anna, although as this was a short story we didn’t get to know a lot about them. Anna was sweet, caring and considerate. Luke was bossy, honorable and he loved deeply. I loved how Anna’s faith helped Luke overcome his issues, though I felt it worked a little too fast.
Luke: A Scrooged Christmas, is short as it is sweet. An insta-love romance with an alpha handyman hunk, a strong and loving heroine and enough Christmas Miracles to go around. I just wished it was longer!
I absolutely adore everything that CP Smith writes (I would read her grocery list if she’d let me) and this short romantic holiday story has been a favorite of mine so far!
Lucas Deacon Knight.. I mean come on.. with a name like that how can he not be a broody alpha hero?! I fell in love with him from the start. Possessive, protective, sweet and a little damaged.. he was perfect.
Anna Stubs was so freaking sweet. I loved her inner thoughts and her personality. Simple, sweet, genuine.. angel. The chemistry between these two was great!
If you are in the mood for a short and sweet holiday story.. this is it!!
This short read brings front and center the real meaning of Christmas, family. The gifts that Luke and Anna give each other are nothing that can be bought in a store. Both characters have lost people near and dear to them and struggle through the holidays alone for the most part. Anna has her brother but when a crisis looms, Luke; someone she's only met briefly and in less than ideal circumstances, steps up to the plate and supports her. No one does insta-love better than CP Smith. I loved the characters in this novella, they are well developed despite the length of the book. It a short sweet read, with a bit of sexy spice. Well worth the time away from the holiday hustle and bustle.
My only complaint is the story is much too short!! I love the theme of faith and healing. It was passionate without being over the top. Great story and characters I want more of. Even has a little twist with some humor thrown in. Good stuff!!
This is part of a collaborated collection by ten authors themed around a scrooged Christmas. I lucked out and got a couple of them but not all. The ones I did get are wonderful. . . but too dang short!
What a lovely, heart warming Christmas novella!. I don't know how I missed this one but I loved every word! Luke and Anna literally bump into each other and he so bad tempered. He is suffering, the loss of his nephew four years prior ripped the soul from him. But then he meets Anna, and she gives him something he hasn't felt in a long time, hope. And when she needs support, he is there for her. Heart melted!!
