This second part of the Shadows and Light series was a bit darker than the first. After the cliffy in the previous book I was prepared for the worst. Generally this was a sad book, but with a happy ending.

I love Jack and Pitch, bur for some reason Gwyn and Augus's story was so much more emotional for me, even if we take out all the sex.

Also it was incredibly weird seeing Gwyn through Jack's eyes. I didn't think his glamour worked that well.

Anyone considering reading this series and everything from the author, I think it's safe to say it doesn't matter where you start. If you want to have a novel-like reading experience, than start here, if serials are your jam, start with The Fae Tales Verse.

Oh gosh this was so good! 🔥 love these characters so much. It makes it even better as I know what happens in Game Theory and the Court of Five Thrones in the Fae Tales By the way, this book and the one before are events that happen right before Game Theory. So yes, I would say Gwyn, Augus are still pretty central here even though it's not told from their point of view.
