All I want for Christmas is... #1

A Sheikh for Christmas

It may be cold outside, but the snow begins to melt when an unlikely couple comes together during the Holidays…

Christmas is right around the corner, but after creating a society scandal, New York heiress Melody Hascall-Ebons has nowhere to turn. Cut off by her family for running away with an actor—who turned out to be using her for publicity—Mel is penniless, homeless, and disgraced. There’s only one place to go, and that’s back to the fiancé she ditched. But instead of her ex, she finds his friend Daveed Rafik. The handsome military translator disarms Mel with his easy smile and surprising sympathy. But as she struggles to get her life on track, the last thing Mel needs is to fall into the strong arms of her ex-fiancé’s best friend.

Counter-terrorism expert Sheikh Daveed Rafik has spent his career dealing with delicate and dangerous situations, but none of them compares to Melody Hascall-Ebons. He’s supposed to be helping his friend Murphy find his missing sister, not consoling the spoiled rich girl who dumped their buddy Heath. But the more he learns about Melody, the more he likes. With her unexpected intelligence and distinctive beauty, Melody calls to him in powerful ways. But when the woman he is arranged to marry shows up, Daveed’s highly organized life suddenly gets very complicated.

The streets of New York are steeped in holiday cheer, but can Daveed and Melody thaw the ice around their hearts enough to make room for love?

A Classic Damsel in distress saved by a rich hunk.

The story was about Melody, a rich famous heiress who run off with an actor who turned out to be just using her for publicity. When her family cut her off, she had nowhere to go but to her ex-fiance who she ditched before. But instead of her ex, she found his friend, Daveed. Mel wasn't really close to her ex's friends before and so she was surprised when Daveed showed her sympathy. Well, after the initial rudeness anyway. Daveed saw that there's something more to Mel than what the media said about her or even more than his friend knew about. Still, he shouldn't feel more than sympathy to her. But living in one roof might not help him in that area.

I love this one especially because there's some seriousness in the story because of Mel. I really liked her and understood the stupid stuffs she did before. Also, I liked it that Daveed wasn't so judgemental. Unlike others, he really gave her a chance to find and know herself and let her do it by herself. He just served as a guide and support. And it was sweet and cute. And very romantic. There was few dramas, since Mel was Daveed's friend's ex but it was okay. It actually helped to make plot even better.

A Sheikh For Christmas a good holiday romance that can get you heated and happy all at once.

The plot is different from the usual story lines that revolve around the hate-turned-to-love trope. Melody is stranded in New York and is left with no other option than to knock on her ex-fiance's door, but much to her surprise, his best friend, a counter-terrorism expert, opens the door and calls himself Daveed. Though there aren't any big enough conflicts for me to get hooked right off the bat, I still appreciated where the story headed especially in terms of character development. Melody is imperfect in her decisions and frequently ends up finding herself in grave situations that she hadn't even expected to land in. It's cute to see the conversations built up between the two main characters.

Having said that, the fact that Daveed, more often than not, didn't expect much from Melody both in terms of personality and intelligence, was a bit frustrating for me. Sure, it's great to surprise the guy with what you're capable of but I don't like well-built, handsome men—fictional or real—who take strong and smart females with immense astonishment as if that was the last thing they'd expected from that woman. Besides, the fact that the love develops at a comparatively faster pace than the entire story, is slightly disheartening and I would've certainly preferred a more steadily paced romance.

Anyhow, I would recommend this to those looking for a light and quick romance without any excessive drama to purposefully drag the story.

Wow a nice holiday romance that’s full of love.
Melody finds herself on her ex fiancé door step having no where else to go but when the door opens she finds his best friend Daveed, shocked to be let in she finds he doesn’t like her but being the man he is offers her to stay the night when he finds out she has nothing.
When Daveed opened the door he didn’t expect Melody to be there looking like a drown rat, being brought up to respect women he lets her in. Knowing what she did to his best friend doesn’t sit well with him but when she explains to him he tells her she could of gone about what she did a different way.
Spending time together they start to feel things for each other but Melody believes Daveed deserves better than her and Daveed believes Melody deserves a prince someone who will know where they are living, but what they both have to figure out is if they won’t each other so when Melody has a chance to move out it spurs Daveed into action, will they both get there HEA with each other or will they slip through each other’s fingers keeping here feelings hidden.
Leslie North has given us a romantic Christmas story that will bright your day when you read it, I couldn’t put it down once I started it.

I received an advance copy of this book. This is a stand alone story but with a subplot running over 3 books. A great christmas love story introducing three seal team members who are searching for the missing sister of one of them. As with all Leslie's books i read it over 2 evenings and couldn't wait to read the next one.

Another feel good Leslie North novel! Out with the arranged marriages and in with the ones that include hearts filled with love. "A copy of this book was supplied by Relay Publishing via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." A book to be read with the glow of a fireplace or in the view of the twinkling Christmas Lights."

There is something about a holiday romance when it's 100 degrees outside that I am attracted to. Leslie North has written a wonderful story of love with this first in her All I Want for Christmas is series. Melody is back in New York after breaking up with her fiance, Heath and running off with an actor only to find out he was using her for publicity. Back to Heath's apartment, she runs into his best friend Daveed. After the initial awkwardness, Daveed begins to see there is more to Melody than he first thought. Both of these characters have issues. Daveed is faced with rebelling family traditions, Melody has to get her life back on track. The thing that drew me into this book was Melody. She is full of craziness and imperfections, not the typical rich girl. She is intuitive, smart and her insecurities are not hidden. I loved her scrappiness, especially when bargaining and I think these are all things that Daveed was attracted to and fell in love with.

DC Cole can read a story like no other. No matter the genre, the story is brought to life with voices that make a movie in your mind. This narration is incredibly good with the slight accent of Daveed and the endearments used. It will melt you each time you hear it them.

Fate has struck a mighty blow and their hearts may never be the same. The Lion of the Desert is brought low by the heiress of scandal. Friendships are tested and boundaries are crossed as temperatures rise to the breaking point. Melody and Daveed are brought together by a desperate situation. She has nowhere to turn and he just happens to be in the right place at the wrong time. Amid her front page scandal and his judgmental attitude, a connection is formed. Will love light the way this Christmas? Or will the obstacles prove to be insurmountable? A Sheikh for Christmas is a battle of wills with just the right temperature to heat up any bookshelf.

Realizing that she’s not only made a colossal mistake but a complete fool of herself, Melody goes to the only place she can think of… the man she was to marry before she ran off on this disastrous adventure of hers. She’s been dumped, disowned and left to fend for herself in a world she’s ill-equipped to handle right now. Heath is her only hope right now, and he’ll probably turn his back on her, too. But she has to try. The last person she expected to find opening Heath’s door was his friend, Daveed – a man who couldn’t possibly dislike her more than she dislikes herself right now. Yet with the opening of that door Daveed and Melody start out on an emotional journey neither one expected to take… with the other.

In every relationship, especially one in trouble it’s often easy to forget that there are two sides to any situation no matter how bad it looks from one side’s view. This is something that Daveed had to deal with as he got to know Melody, hear her side of events and discovered that he couldn’t continue his dislike of her for somewhere along the line she became far more important to him than he realized. Life is full of complications, and Daveed is about to experience those complications first hand. Now he has to make a choice for tradition or for love.

I enjoyed A Sheikh For Christmas. The thread of the ongoing troubles appears to be flowing through all the stories of the series. I happen to enjoy those threads that weave a larger picture and I’m looking forward to discovering where they lead. It’s not easy to reinvent yourself when life tosses you to the curb, but Melody has the strength and determination to do just that. Oh, she may be down but she’s far from out. Daveed is that combination of old world charm and lethal force that makes him a perfect hero for Melody. They have issues to be dealt with, but at the core is something neither expected and now cannot do without… each other.

I would recommend this one to any reader who enjoys a possible enemy to lover feel to a really good romance. Now to wait for the next story and dive further into the underlying mystery.

Taking It To The Streets⚡💕
ARC received for a voluntary and honest review.

Melody💃💔💋 is literally out on the street without a penny. She was supposed to marry Heath🐺🍆🌋🔫🔪, a special ops kind of guy, and it was just a no go. They were pushed together by her parents and they didnt even love💔 each other!
So when she runs away from the wedding👰 at the last minute, her parents cut off her credit cards and disown her, basically. She pretty much burned🔥 her bridges!
She figures she can stay in Heath's condo, but when she gets there, it's occupied by Daveed🐺🍆🌋🔫🔪, another special ops kind of guy. He's a friend and colleague of Heath🐺🔫🔪, he wants to turn her away, but Melody💃💋 has no where to go except to a homeless shelter, and it's ☔raining and she's soaking wet and bedraggled. Poor woman.....💃💔💋

Daveed🐺🍆🌋 is actually a sheikh of a small country in the Mideast, and he knows all about arranged marriages👰. His father the ruling Sheikh, engaged him at age 10 to an six year old 👧girl! Daveed🐺🍆🌋 must marry to inherit the Sheikhdom from his father. So, he left and joined the special forces with Heath🐺🍆🌋.

Melody💃💋 can't help but notice how freaking ripped💪 and hot Daveed🐺🍆🌋 is, and how kind he is to her. Maybe she was hooking up with the wrong man in Heath🐺🍆🌋!
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback, Cowgirl!

Melody💃💋💔 starts out as an airhead, because she was molded into a society girl by her mother. She was groomed to be a man's arm💪💃 🍬candy, nothing more. She went to a great college but spent little time studying, she mostly attended parties and events. When she begins to get to know Daveed🐺🔫🔪, he pushes her to figure out her strengths and build on them. He pushes her to contribute to the 🌎world instead of always taking from it. Maybe she'll grow up.

Daveed’s best friend Heath had been dumped a month before his wedding by Melody who had taken off with an actor- Jefferson- out of the country and later found out he was gay and using Melody for media attention. Daveed was at Heath’s condo and then Melody showed up there soaked and having nowhere to go or anyway to turn to as her parents had disowned her. Melody said her parents had planned for a long time for her to marry Heath but even though she got engaged she figured they would never marry. Daveed could never resist a crying females. Melody said she had been lonely and Heath just ignored her and had kept reenlisting in the service. Leaving her alone. Daveed had been a counter terrorist expert and knew Melody wasn’t putting on an act. David knew about forced engagements he had left his country because of a forced engagement made when he was ten and the girl was six. Melody ended up helping Daveed to solve some of the words and an address from the coded message Murphy's sister -Aileen-had hidden in her books. Murphey, Heath, and Daveed were best friends and had been in the service together and stayed close. And then Murphy's sister had been missing for almost two weeks now. Daveed was very attracted to Melody and he knew he had to stop it as she was Heath’s ex.
I really enjoyed this book . I loved the romance even if it was rather fast. But the author left us hanging on if Aileen was ever found or what had happened to her. So I was disappointed there but otherwise I really liked the plot the pace was also good for the most part. I also loved how Melody inched her was into Daveed against his will. But all and all this was a good fun quick read. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

Review of A Sheikh for Christmas by Leslie North

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Rated 5 Stars

WOW so happy to have discovered this author & I am admitting that Sheikh romances are one of my guilty pleasures.

Can I just ask who wouldn't want a Billionaire Sheikh for Christmas. Ummm just saying 😄😄 !!!

5 Star Read -this book hit all my buttons easily !!

I loved Melody & Daveed's story only wish it was longer !! The very few opening scenes had me immediately hooked !! Melody breaks her engagement with Daveed's best friend and takes off following her heart with someone she thinks is the true love of her life !! What does she find out - he is an actor who also happens to be gay & was only using Melody for "newsworthy" status since his personal reputation has taken several hits lately . Melody slinks home - tail between her legs after being cut off by her parents from her trustfund / credit cards all canceled - oops sorry card(s) declined - no job & is now basically homeless ... She arrives at her EX's penthouse only to find him gone and Daveed not taking to kindly to having her around.

There is a really great HEA - sparks fly between these two immediately & against the odds they find true love.

Great quick read - you won't be disappointed !! Luv this author can't wait to see what else she has in store for me !!

When poor little rich girl Melody is cut off by her parents for leaving her fiancé for another man, she has nowhere to go but back to the fiancé she left. Unfortunately (fortunately), when she knocks on the door of his condo, it's not her ex who answers, but his friend, Sheikh Daveed Rafik, who's staying there while they try to solve the case of their friend's sister's disappearance. Thank God Daveed has more compassion in his heart than her ex, because he takes her in and gives her shelter while she sorts her life out.

I enjoyed A Sheikh for Christmas, surprisingly. Although it was short, I liked how their relationship developed. It was a bit rushed, but that's too be expected in such a short story. They didn't just hop into bed, they got to know each other first, and their attraction seemed realistic and sexy. I also liked Melody and Daveed, especially Melody, which is somewhat surprising considering that Melody at first came across as a spoiled little brat. But she was actually a sweet, compassionate woman who had just been forced into an engagement by her parents with no care as to what she wanted. Daveed, too, was a likable character, although his character wasn't quite given as much development and detail as Melody. All in all, I liked A Sheikh for Christmas, and wouldn't mind reading more in this series.

I read this book as part of an arc program. I enjoyed this holiday tale about Melody, a young socialite and Daveed, a terrorism expert. Daveed was also in line to become a Sheik after his father died, but he had decided to join the military after law school and he now worked in counterterrorism. Melody had been engaged to Daveed's friend Heath until she left him to run away with an actor. When Melody found out the actor was gay and only using her for publicity, she returned home to find her parents had cut her off financially and she had nowhere to go. Melody ended up on Heath's doorstep, only to find Daveed there. Daveed felt sorry for her because she had no money or place to go, so he offered her the guest room and decided he would help her get a job and get settled. Daveed was also helping Heath find their friend Murphy's missing sister. Melody needs to make peace with Heath after causing him embarrassment in the tabloids with her running away. Things are going well for Melody helping them find information on the missing girl and Melody and Daveed grow closer. Their feelings are getting stronger until Daveed has a visitor from his past. I liked this story, although it does end on a bit of a cliff hanger in relation to the missing girl. I loved how Daveed saw more in Melody than a spoiled socialite. I think Melody really wanted to be independent and stand on her own, but she really loved Daveed and wanted to be with him and not fill an obligation to her parents. Good one.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I didn't realize that the three guys were going to have a series about Christmas so I am really looking forward to the other books in the series. I was not too sure at the beginning of the book if I was going to like it as Melody seemed like a real loser at first.

As the story progresses, we learn more about her and her bad choices and see her really try to grow as a person. Daveed slowly comes around so instead of hating her, he actually starts to like her. I had also felt bad for Heath but every time that he is talking in the book, he is big jerk so I don't fault Melody for trying to find a person who loves her.

If you don't mind, the back story of the missing Aileen not being resolved in this book, the romance between Daveed and Melody was a cute read. We see the two guys, Heath and Murphy will be in the next two books, along with Shayma - I am so glad that she will get her HEA! It was great that she was able to stand up to her parents and get out of her arranged marriage with Daveed.

Looking forward to starting book 2, as I want to continue the search for Aileen as well as seeing Murphy and Shayma together...sounds like another good book!

Melody has no where to turn, no where to go. She has run out on her fiance', ran off with an actor who was using her for publicity. Could she do anything more stupid?

Melody comes from money. She was basically raised knowing that her main goal in life was to be "a good socialite wife" and for some reason, her marriage would have been one of convenience. She decides to go stay at her ex's city condo until she can figure out what to do.

Daveed, her ex's friend and business partner is staying at the condo temporarily. Their other partner's sister has gone missing and they are looking for her. When Mel shows up at the door, he is definitely annoyed.

Daveed lets her stay and soon finds out there is more to Mel. She is not brainless and she is determined to make it on her own. And can they deny the attraction?

I really liked this story! Mel has amends to make and it isn't easy for her. She is a hell of a woman though and determined. I felt sad that she was never encouraged to become what she was capable of. I had so much anger towards her parents and even the ex who also expected her to be "arm candy".

Daveed did get to know her though, which made the attraction grow even more....
I would recommend this story!

After leaving her fiancé, Heath, for another man, Melody finds herself disowned and alone with nowhere to go. As a last resort, she goes to Heath’s apartment hoping for some help, but when she arrives, Heath isn’t there, but his friend Daveed is. Finding it too hard to kick Melody out on the curb, Daveed gives in and allows her to stay with him until she gets back on her feet.

The plot is light and sweet, but it moves slowly and has little drama. Melody and Daveed weren’t perfect, cookie cutter characters, which I liked, but Melody was always left looking like a fool when it came to Daveed. Their chemistry is mild and hard to grasp. There’s plenty of insight into how they feel about each other, but little action actually shows it. So when it takes mere days for them to fall in love, I was sort of left scratching my head wondering how the heck it happened.

Have it in audio

Leslie does it again . She has done an outstanding work writing this story .
And D.C Cole has shone narrating this Xmas gift. His voice is strong , smooth and he does the characters perfect

Hero is Daveed . Heroine is Melody .

You will love this story. There are many levels, but you will wonder when things are going to work out.
Melody gets a raw deal from her family and the guy she’s seeing . First off her family cuts her off money wise , because they believe she’s being used by her boyfriend. And then she finds out her boyfriend is using her for a publicity stunt .

Melody needs someone to speak to, she goes to find her ex-Finance ,,,, but he’s not there ,,, she meets Daveed.

Daveed is a counter-Terriiest , he has dealt with a lot . But people doesn’t know what he does. People just see him as a Sheik . Once he sees Melody he has an instant attraction and wants to find a way to keep her
Does Daveed find a way ? Grab it and find out

Mel is a spoiled rich girl, who dumps her fiancé just before the wedding for an actor...buuuut...turns out the actor only wanted to be around her for the publicity. Now that her parents have disowned her and cut off her finances, Mel has nowhere to go but to her ex-fiancé’s apt. Except, Heath is not there, instead m, Mel has to deal with the sexy af sheikh, Daavid is surprised to find Mel at the door...and not pleasantly surprised. However, he can’t leave her homeless, especially so close to the holidays. The pair become close but just as Mel is falling for Daavid, yet another surprise shows up at his door. Is there an HEA in store for these two? Quick read, with a bit of suspense, since Daavid & friends are searching for a missing sister. Awesome narration.

Melody has had a rough couple of days and the only person she can turn to is her ex that she ran out on, who hates her, or she will have to sleep on a bench in Central Park. Only when she gets to his condo he's not there, his friend is and he doesn't have the highest regards for her.
Daveed has every reason to just slam the door in her face for what she did to his friend but he kind of feels sorry for her and his manners can't seem to let him. Now the more he known about her the less he dislikes her and the more he get uncomfortable because he should be feeling these feelings for his friend's ex.
It's a fast pace book. From deep dislike to love. I enjoyed it and look forward to more by Leslie North.

Where do you turn when you are crazy enough to run away from your fiancee and follow the guy that you think you love halfway around the world, only to find out that he is gay? Better yet, your family cuts you off due to your crazy behavior. You go knocking on your fiancee's door and hope he is willing to take you back. When Daveed opens the door of Heath's condo to find Melody standing there, his first instinct to shut the door and tell her to go away, but he feels sorry for her and lets her in. Can Melody convince Heath to forgive her, or can Daveed and Melody resist the chemistry that sparks between them? This is a sweet, short story that keeps you rooting for Melody as she tries to get her life together. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What do you do when you are in trouble....you ask a friend for help right. But when the only person you can ask is your ex, well you have to put your big girl pants on and get on with it. Oh Melody, you did make some awful decisions but at least you face your demons. Having to face your ex Heath is no fun but what you don’t expect to see is his friend Sheikh Daveed in his apartment.... and now the fun begins. At least Daveed is fair minded after a while and what starts out as two people annoying each other turns into something more. New relationships, missing sisters, plots, schemes and a surprise visit. A very good story of life, love and big decisions. Loved it.

Christmas in Summer! This is the first book in the All I want for Christmas is... Series. I like this Christmas Story… in July! It's refreshing! This story is different than the other written by Leslie North and I loved it! I love the main characters, Daveed and Melody, but also the secondary characters, Heath and Murphy. Melody is a strong, resourceful, feisty and hilarious woman. Daveed is a very organized, supportive and protective man. The story is also filled with a little suspense with the disappearance of Aileen, Murphy's sister. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series! The narration is really great. I love DC Cole's voice. He has a beautiful voice, easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Melody is a flighty, air-head socialite... or is she? Daveed is a sheikh, former military, and the best friend of the fiance Melody left at the alter. When Melody needs a place to stay after being disowned by her family Daveed can't keep himself from helping her and they quickly develop an attraction. I really liked the premise of this story and it was a very enjoyable read but I couldn't help feeling the story was a bit shallow. The storyline with Melody's ex-fiance, Daveed's fiancee by arranged marriage, and the missing girl, Aileen, were lightly touched on but more or less brushed under the rug in favor of sexy times. Overall, enjoyable but didn't quite live up to its promise.

I enjoyed the Christmas story from Leslie North. When Melody shows up on her ex-fiancee's doorstep, having no where else to turn since her parents have disowned her she is doing it by eating a huge slice of humble pie, but what she finds is said ex's friend Daveed. Daveed knows all about what Melody did to his friend, but what happens when he finds out the real person that is Melody? These two shouldn't find happiness with each other, but while working together to help find Daveed's friend's missing sister and helping Melody figure out herself they grow close. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Mel overcomes drama associated with her bad choices and paparazzi blowup. Daveed nor his betrothed Shayma actually want an arranged marriage but changing tradition is difficult.
As the team tries to find Aileen, Mel proves to be a useful collaborator.

I like how Mel realizes that she needs to accomplish something on her own and insists on keeping her job at MAC along with accomplishing other dreams. Daveed personality proves to be empathetic which I liked, her helps Mel out in her time of need but also aids in boosting her confidence and choosing her career path.

I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.
I really enjoyed this book, I loved this unlikely romance between Daveed and Melody. Melody is from a very rich family and as she goes against her family they dis-own her. leaving her with nothing and no where to go. Leaving Melody no choice she turns to her ex-boyfriend for help and she finds his best friend Daveed Rafik. Daveed is a Counter-terrorism expert and at first he's like I'm not interested in helping her, but as she gets upset, he has a change of heart. Wow what a great book, loved how it played it and it was full of drama, kept my interest through out the book. Great writing style. Recommend
