Alone in the dark, Margie must face unimaginable terror. Is this thing that haunts her nights a ghost or is it something worse?
Jesse and Gail are just starting their paranormal investigations business. This first case should be easy and they can’t wait to get started. Their client is claiming a spirit is assaulting her. Touching her, hounding her and that she is never alone in her house. Gail isn’t convinced that this is a haunting. Tales of blue flying lights and whispers in the night make her think that Margie is imagining things. Especially when she learns what happened to her husband. Only Jesse has heard of such cases. Spirit orbs are well documented and cases of spiritual assault have been seen worldwide. He knows they can get very nasty, very fast.
When they visit Margie's home it is not the normal haunted house but a quiet and light bungalow. Yet as soon as they enter they sense a strong and dark force. Something is lurking in this quiet suburb, terrorizing Margie, pushing her to the very edge of sanity. What does it want? Why is it here?

DarkMan: The Haunting of Oldfield Drive The Spirit Guide, Book 3 By: Caroline Clark Narrated by: Jennifer Gilmour This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. This is a good ghost, haunted house story with suspense and plenty of tension. Good plot and characters. I am eager to read more of these stories. The narrator was very good and performed the tension and voices wonderfully.
I really enjoyed this book. It is rather short but gets right into the creepiness right off the bat and stays there all the way through.
In the book Margie is alone with her husbands recent passing, or is she alone. Each night a vicious spirit attacks Margie.
Jesse and Gail have started their own Paranormal Investigation business. They get an email from Margie asking for help with her situstion.
Gail doesn't really believe Margie is being haunted. Jesse talks her into going with him and talking to Margie to see if it a real haunting or if she is a quack. And they need their first paying client in order to kick off their business.
Once in Margie's home Gail has no choice but to believe Margie as she gets to see first hand what Margie has been going through.
Now Jesse and Gail have to figure out how to save Margie and to find out who the spirit is and why he is tormenting and torturing Margie.

Disclaimer. I had requested and received audible version of this book for free from the narrator, in exchange for an unbiased review.
What I liked about the book - This is a solid haunted house story that gives you chills. Listen to it alone on a dark night and you're surely going to sleep with the lights on. The author's good writing skill evident by the tension she slowly built and then the pure horror that was let loose. Its not tacky jump-scare. The characters themselves are very well written, for a horror book. I was hooked to the story from the start and kept coming back for more every few hours. (couldn't wait for commute the next day.)
What I disliked about the book - Nothing specific that I can think of.
Narration - Narration by Jennifer Gilmour was a good match for the genre. Her delivery adds to the spooky setting of this book and makes it all that more spellbinding.
This was a relatively short haunted house tale, a malignant spirit focussing its anger and resentment on the wrong person. Yes, it was spooky and, at times, a very dark tale. However, I felt the story lacked real depth and the ghost hunting duo didn't inspire me. One of them could no longer see ghosts but was a "believer" while his partner could see into the spirit world but, was something of a sceptic. Throw a load of Latin phrases and Catholic philosophy into the mix and, eventually, you are successful in exorcising your unfriendly ghost. This duo made so many mistakes and caused so much mayhem I doubt that, in the real world, they could make a living from their chosen career. That said, I did enjoy the book.
It was good but not on par with her other books. I
We need more writers willing to believe in orbs and do research on them. They do exist and when captured and enlarged on high def devices sometimes faces ,even multiple faces can be seen. One can even see hairstyles and complete faces with partial necks showing. Such as an orb i caught in my old house which was haunted. I caught many orbs that are genuine, not dust!.
I've probably seen 80% of the horror movies out there, and have read a TON of books on the subject, and love the Warrens. So, I've seen and read just about all of it, but genuinely liked with this one! I loved the story, the characters, the writing and the narration. It's not super-involved due to length, but it's a great story and well done. Sinister, creepy, hauntingly good. Worth the read. :) I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I loved this story because not only is it entertaining...it is also very informative. The author takes us on a journey through the eyes of a couple who want to help, not just the victims of the haunting, but the spirits doing the haunting as well. This story explains a little about orbs and the Haunting of items...Not just places. Love it...Cannot wait to read more of this Author
This book could not have been better. I love the "Spirit Guide" books . Actually , I love all her books and am constantly looking for the latest or maybe one I missed . If you enjoy books about the paranormal and enjoy a book that reels you in and you can't put down, then Caroline Clark is for you!!
This story starts of with chills & goosebumps as a woman is attack in her own home. Then in comes Jessie (we meet again) who seems to have lost his gift of sight & his partner Gail who's sight is strong. Together they team up to help this woman. Great story that will have sitting on the edge of your seat.
Another good read from this author but not as scary as some of her other books. Depending on how you see it, or rather read it, you could say its a combination of both, but for me it didn't come close to other works she's published. Still worth reading though, so four stars.
Jesse and Gail finally have a client who will pay for their expertise. What sounds like a quick and easy job becomes a deadly encounter with a malevolent spirit. Caroline Clark has written a scary and thrilling story about a lady who isn't safe in her own home.
This series keeps getting better and better. I was thoroughly entertained with this series. It was definitely an on the edge of your seat ghost story. I sincerely hope there will be more in this series!!!!!! I'll be waiting!!!
Margie is totally frightened of what is haunting her. Jesse and Gail are just starting out their business. Will they be able to find out what’s happening. Perfect scary story to keep you in suspense.
I would highly recommend this book to family and friends alike! These stories are so lifelike that you think you are in the book itself! Loved it indeed!
