Together in one set for the first time--all six books in the popular Bearpaw Ridge Firefighters series!
Meet the Swanson brothers: five alpha male bear shifters who help protect their small, close-knit community as volunteer firefighters. Dane, Mark, Evan, Thor, and Ash are heroes looking for their fated mates, but the road to their happily ever after is filled with peril and adventure.
Ophelia Sexton is an author of paranormal romance. She has previously published historical romance under a different name, but has always loved reading about were-creatures, vampires, and other supernatural beings. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
If you love sexy shifters ,you will love this boxset. Every story ties into one another. The characters are so wonderfully written and you will fall in love with every qwerky one. I recommend this box set to anyone! I am looking forward to diving into the second volume of this set!!!!
Annabeth works with her boss, Maggie at Cacao, when they return to work one morning...they’re disheartened to find all their hard work ruined. They discover the culprit is Annabeth’s fiancé Roger. Maggie suggests to Annabeth that moving to Bearpaw Ridge might be the answer as she can open up her own bakery 🧁
Annabeth makes the move and settles in with the locals nicely...and she meets Dane, a rancher and local volunteer firefighter👩🚒. It soon becomes clear that Roger is not letting Annabeth go quite as easily as she had hoped and she’s not willing to risk her new relationship with Dane and the town she’s learning to love💕
A really good story that I enjoyed😍🧁🔥
SMOLDER BOOK 2 Smouldering Firefighters 🔥
Caitlyn works as an investigative reporter when they receive video of the existence of shifters. When it turns out the person who sent the video has been murdered, Caitlyn and her boss make moves to go to ground and investigate whether the video is real or not. This leads Caitlyn to Bearpaw Ridge where she veers off the road to avoid three wolves and ends up upside down in her car...only to be rescued by some very sexy firefighters👩🚒
Mark works as a lawyer and volunteers as a firefighter when he’s needed❣️Responding to a call, he’s confused when his bear keeps insisting on helping the woman in the car, until he realises what she is to him😍
This story was the one I was waiting to get to, to understand the story of Inferno with Pete and Kayla💕 Reading these stories in the boxset, would definitely recommend.
IGNITE BOOK 3 A commitment phobic bear 🐻
Steffi is watching her sister and brother-in-law’s baby, when she receives news no sister ever wants to hear. Unfortunately, things always get worse before they get better and now someone is attempting to kidnap her niece and because things happen in threes, she witnesses something she thought physically impossible wow 😮
Evan is the quintessential ladies man. He’s afraid to commit and would prefer to be with someone for a short amount of time before he tries to extract himself from the situation when it becomes apparent the other person wants more! He meets Steffi with baby Olivia, who turns out to be his cousin’s baby daughter, when they are staying in Bearpaw Ridge at one of the local motels when it becomes overcome with flames 🔥 Evan wants Steffi but she keeps turning him down😢
I really did enjoy this story but one of the things I felt could’ve been touched on was why Evan didn’t want to be in a committed relationship and where this aversion came from. In my opinion it doesn’t show him in as good of a light as a reformed playboy if we knew the reason he was so opposed! I’m currently reading the first volume in this paranormal firefighting series😍
FLAME BOOK 4 Flaming good🔥
Book four in this paranormal firefighting series starts off with Thor parachuting into a wildfire where him and a fellow teammate get blown off course, sustaining injuries. Luckily for Thor, he gets taken in by Cassie....a fellow shifter....but he’s got a few problems. One, he can’t remember who he is. Secondly, Cassie smells amazing and could be more to him than he knows and thirdly, she’s in danger and he’s literally helpless.
A wonderful and intriguing start to this story and I have to admit because I didn’t know much about Thor other than brief mentions of him...I really enjoyed this story, getting to know him and I seemed to devour it, much like a wildfire❤️
BURN BOOK 5 Time to start new traditions😁
Justin comes to Bearpaw Ridge to give away his daughter Cassie at her wedding. While he’s there he comes up against a lot of tension with regards his particular shifter lineage, due to previous bad experiences that the bears 🐻 in this small town have dealt with in the past. However, this doesn’t stop him from being attracted to Elle, the matriarchal head of the bears🥰
Elle wasn’t sure she’d ever find someone who interested her after her mate died, but here she is intensely and insanely attracted to Justin. However, she fears the distance would be too much and when Justin leaves abruptly because of an emergency with his Pride, Elle is devastated. But Justin will prove to her the type of man he is by his actions, not his words, especially when he reveals his feelings❣️
I really liked Justin even though he’d had a rough go of it with Cassie and losing his mate years earlier. I read some of the previous reviews with regards Elle and I think it’s unfair to judge her so harshly especially after knowing a bit more about the taboo of cross matings and how they were raised to stay within their shifter species😳 Now with that said, I’m keen to see what happens with Ash in the next story😍
ASH BOOK 6 Everything she touches feels as though it turns to Ash❤️
I really enjoyed this story of Ash. Initially I just thought he’d met someone he really liked and then she’d broken it off and I was none the wiser as to why etc. But after reading this story and getting a bit more background information I found I really liked Ash and Nika❣️
Another great story, which gives our characters a bit more emotional depth due to their experiences and sacrifices to be together😍 Oh and fighting against a Russian bear clan😳
This is a surprisingly moving, sexy, paranormal series featuring the Swanson Brothers (and their stern widowed mother) finding their mates. I won’t lie, I expected it to be fun but a little silly, but this sweet predictable series tackles a lot of heavy issues from emotional abuse, fatphobia, low self-esteem, to recovering from physical and sexual abuse, from massive insecurity to finding your own strength, to dealing with the kind of bigotry that is analogous to being discriminated about because of your race or religion or sexuality or ability and even xenophobia. The stories may not have been the most complex, but they were soothing, satisfying reads with universally likable protagonists (other than Elle and Justin). If there’s anything I wish had been different, it’s that I wish there had been stronger consequences for some of the villains or people who engaged in ain’t ish behaviour. As far as I’m concerned some people were forgiven wayyyy too easily and it kind of bothered me, even though it shouldn’t because I am pro-forgiveness. I recommend for a breezy, yet emotionally intense paranormal romance.
I listened to this story in the Bearpaw Ridge Firefighters Boxset 1 on Audible. The set has books 1 Thru 6 in this series.
Narrator is doing good. She sounds clear and she has some different voices for the different characters. Quality performance that I enjoyed listening to. She gave a great performance for all 6 books.
I’ll go ahead and put my reviews for each book. The writing was great, but reading each story right after the other, I did notice a lot of similarities between the basics of the story and the events in each book. Still enjoyed the majority of the books and the shifter world the author created. Overall, a wonderful series!
Book 1 - Heat - 5 stars
Sweet and steamy shifter romance with some suspense. Actually, there’s a lot of steam going on between Dane and Annabeth! Dane is a bear shifter, who meets new bakery owner Annabeth and knows instantly she’s his mate. Unfortunately, she’s human and Dane has had some past issues with telling people about being a shifter, so he’s understandably wary of telling Annabeth. Annabeth was in a verbally abusive relationship that she stayed in way too long because of low self-esteem. She’s finally realizing she needs to start a new, so at the urging of a friend, she moves far away from her ex. Unfortunately, the ex isn’t giving up so easy.
Loved the connection between Annabeth and Dane. So much passion and so sweet! Love a good protective guy too! He’s also a firefighter, so he’s saving lives. I liked how the author worked in the firefighter aspect into the story. Also, enjoyed the setting being a shifter town and the suspense with the ex.
A fun, entertaining story with lots of hot moments! Looking forward to the next book!
Book 2 - Smolder - 4 stars
Love the bear shifter aspect and the romance is steamy. There’s some good suspense and action just like in the first book, so that’s all entertaining and fun. In this book, Caitlyn is a reporter for a trashy tabloid that reports on things like Bigfoot and Loch Ness, she’s sent to Bearpaw Ridge to investigate if shifters exist. I wasn’t really a fan of that angle. When she arrives, she meets bear shifter, Mark, and these two are hot for each other. Mark knows she is his mate, but he doesn’t know if he can trust her not to break the story about the existence of shifters. There’s also some dangerous shifters after her because she’s getting too close to finding out about shifters. Mark and Caitlyn have some hot moments, but I didn’t feel a strong connection between them. It just felt like lust; their connection lacks emotional depth. I loved the connection between Dane and Annabeth from the first book, so I was a bit disappointed with Mark and Caitlyn. The story is written well and I was entertained the whole time, so I still enjoyed the story. I’m not really looking forward to the next book because I’m not a fan of Evan, but since I already have the book in this Boxset, I’m going to go ahead and read it.
Book 3 - Ignite - 3 stars
Still loving the bear shifter aspect and the fun suspense of this series. I also loved that Steffi was a tough lady. I just did not like Evan. In this book, Steffi is caring for her niece when her sister and her sister’s husband go missing, so Steffi needs to care for the baby longer than expected. Which would be fine, but there’s some shady people following Steffi and the baby around. Plus, the baby shifts into a bear cub; Steffi doesn’t know about shifters, so she is definitely surprised when that happens. When she gets a call from Steffi’s sister’s husband’s family in Bearpaw Ridge, she decides it’s a good time to go for a visit. Unfortunately, the danger follows, so luckily Evan is there to help her out. I like how he’s supportive towards Steffi, but Evan is the manwhore type; he’s supposed to be charming and fun, but he came across as slimy to me.
Spoilers for the romance aspect coming up!
He knows Steffi is his mate, but he continues to try with some other woman; a friends with benefits thing, but he stays the night over at her house and they’ve been together a lot, so that seems pretty serious to me. Plus, this other woman wants more with him. He kisses this other woman a couple times after he meets the main love interest too, and continues to stay over at her house after they are no longer sleeping together; yes, it’s in her guest bedroom, but that is just too weird. Especially, since he knows she wants more of a relationship. Even after they aren’t together anymore and he’s with Steffi, this other woman checks out his naked body when he shifts. Soooo awkward! Then the moron wonders why Steffi doesn’t want to date him, and acts like Steffi is the moronic one for thinking he wasn’t available. Unfortunately, Steffi gives in and agrees to a no strings sex romp with Evan; it all felt like she was just so grateful that someone as hot as Evan would want a chubby girl like her. It just comes across as desperate and like she doesn’t know her worth. So, I just didn’t feel the romance in this book; it all felt very unromantic. It felt like he really never wanted to be mated and was just forced into it. Speaking of mate bonding without knowing it. How is it that shifters have been around for a long time and no one mentioned that the mate bond is sealed by being intimate with your mate? Even his brothers knew and never mentioned it.
End of spoilers!
The writing is still good and the story is entertaining, so I still went 3 stars even though the romance wasn’t my thing. I’m still looking forward to the next book in this series.
Book 4 - Flame - 5 stars
Thor and Cassie
Loved the amnesia scenario in this one! Thor is a smokejumper, who ends up crashing into Cassie’s car from the sky. He’s severely injured and has amnesia, but Cassie, a saber tooth shifter, knows Thor is a shifter and can’t be taken to a human hospital. She ends up helping him out until they learn more about him and find the proper help. Unfortunately, Cassie ran away from a pride that was abusive to her, so there’s some dangerous shifters looking for her. I don’t like that she doesn’t tell Thor how much danger she’s in; especially since he’s getting brought into it. Also, why in the heck doesn’t she carry any weapons!? The suspense was great with this situation though, and made for an entertaining read. Plus, it helps seal the bond between Cassie and Thor. These two feel a romantic connection right away and they quickly start acting on, but not everyone is on board about them being together. They decide that it’s a good idea to go to Thor’s hometown, Bearpaw Ridge, when the bad shifters after Cassie get closer. Thor’s mom and his brothers had some bad experiences with Saber tooth shifters, so they aren’t exactly welcoming. I’m tired of Thor’s mom, Elle, being so judgmental; every book she has some issues with her sons mating people that aren’t bear shifters. It’s so small minded! Thor is awesome with how supportive he is though! Loved Thor! He’s a great guy. Thor and Cassie have some good passion, and their connection is so sweet. They are definitely one of my fav couples in this series so far. Them and Dane and Annabeth from the first book are my favs.
Good writing, good story. Very entertaining!
Book 5 - Burn - 3 stars
So, I wasn’t really excited to read this one because I haven’t liked Elle in any of the previous books. She’s too judgmental and very rude to all of her sons mates. As for Justin, he didn’t do right by his daughter, Cassie. He could’ve at least left the pride that was abusive towards his daughter, but he just lets her go on the run alone and stay with the pride. Plus, there’s the whole picturing a grandma having sex thing that just didn’t appeal to me. With that being said, they do have a sweet romance and the writing is still good. The author has created an entertaining series with some fun scenarios. Justin and Elle do improve some as the story goes on; mostly Justin, so I did enjoy this quick read with them. It was also fun that they met at Thor and Cassie’s wedding. I’m going with a 3 rating because I didn’t quite enjoy the story like I did other books in this series I gave a 4 rating to.
Book 6 - Ash - 4 stars
Wasn’t a huge fan of the premise on this one; Nika runs away from her mate, Ash, because her parents threatened him, but when she finds out she’s pregnant, she goes to warn Ash, but still doesn’t plan to stay with him. I did not like that she waited so long into her pregnancy to contact Ash; maybe she would’ve never told him if her parents weren’t horrible. Obviously, Ash was so heartbroken when Nika did this, and he isn’t going to let her run off on her own again. Nika didn’t even try talking to Ash before running off originally and broke up with him in a very mean way, so I wasn’t a fan in the beginning. Also, her continuously thinking it’s a better idea to go on the run alone and 7 months pregnant than staying on a ranch with multiple shifters and people for protection had me questioning her intelligence; especially since she’s studying to be a doctor. Maybe her wanting to leave had to do with how much of a jerk Ash’s mom, Elle, continues to be to all of her sons mate when she first meets them. Yes, Nika was a moron to leave her mate, but she’s pregnant and needs help; not an attitude. I also didn’t like how Nika continues to call her parents Momma and Papa even though they did horrible things; Nika is way too forgiving at times. With all that being said, the story is still entertaining and I love the shifter aspect. Ash was wonderful; a total sweetheart. They do have some good passion too, but I do wish the intimate scenes weren’t all crammed together. Still some hot times though. The writing is good too, and I love seeing the previous characters in this series all interacting.

Kindle Unlimited Purchase By Ophelia Sexton This series is about a small town with ALL kinds of shifters from mountain lions to yes bears. The Swanson family is one of the oldest families. Elle Swanson and her sister Margaret raised their kids together from a young age after both of their husbands died. Margaret moved her 3 children on Elle's husband's family ranch. There are 6 books in the series and only 5 brothers. So, Who is the 6th book about? As River Song would say "spoilers" lol. Doctor Who fan, sorry. I enjoyed this series! Loved how all the brothers were great men and thought of others before themselves. As a reader, I felt pulled into this family, into their stories, like I was a part of this community and I was living it with them. It takes a great author to do this. And this happens with this box set. You will love these characters and their world will melt your heart. From book 1 all through book 6 (and through box 2), you will not be able to put it down.
The shifters of this book are from Bearpaw Ridge, living a separate secret life from regular humans. The Swanson family own and manage a resort in the beautiful Idaho mountains. The brothers have varied livelihoods but are firefighters as well as bear shifters. Their mom and Aunt are also bear shifters and rule the roost. Their small town is mostly a variety of different types of shifters with some "ordinaries" thrown in who must be kept oblivious of the shifters among them. Each book has variety as far as plot tropes and character personalities. Entertaining, interesting and original this collection kept me reading eagerly from beginning to end. Looking forward to the next set of books of this series.
Super sexy, voluntary firefighter bear shifters find all the heat they can handle when one by one they find their fated mates. These books have all a shifter romance fan could want. The characters are smart, sexy, fun, protective and brave and that's just the heroines. The heroes, well, they're all that and they're firefighters! The storylines are engaging and full of suspense, action and sexy romance. Talk about heat! Grab a copy of this set and settle down for hours of reading pleasure.
Fantastic series guaranteed to steal your heart, I remember waiting and reading each book as it was released so you are luck to be able to listen to each story one after the other like this. I bought the boxed set in ebook and audible when it was on sale to support the author, even though I already have the books, as a thankyou for all the entertainment she has provided me. These are romantic shifter/human/paranormal adventure stories where these strong burley males get to woo the women of their dreams. The sense of community is strong and heartwarming. RECOMMENDED
Six great dramas , all with happy endings after lots of romance.
The books follow the Swanson family of five boys and their widowed mom as they each find their dream mate and defeat various problems in their new mates lives. Can be read as stand alone tales or as a series since they interconnect. Well worth purchasing, with nice solid characters and solid backgrounds that let you feel like you know everyone in Bearpaw Ridge.
each story was wonderfully paced with a different plotline for each brother ( and mamma bear) the variety of what the brothers dud for a job was interesting and weaved through the stories if each book nicely. lots of yummy ( to good to be true) alphas, steamy scenes, instalove, family strength, humour and scenes and strong women . what more could you want. ? Beth's narration was fantastic she had great tones and inflections happening for all her characters
The Bearpaw Ridge Firefighters series is awesome. The heroes are all great alpha shifters and the heroines are strong and successful women. The Swanson family is the best kind of family. One that stands together and protects their own. I would recommend this series to any adult reader who enjoys sexy shifter romances.
Another great series. These aren't bears just shifting, they actually have jobs (firemen) and a family ranch. The brothers finally meet their match in the women they find. I really liked Dane's story. Annabeth's is a baker and a good one. But her ex doesn't like that she left him and can't take the hint, she isn't coming back.
Bear shifters, 5 sons and a mother, are found in this 6 book collection. Fantastic books with colorful characters. Warmth, family, community as family, a rich tapestry. Many times I wanted to either hug the characters or slapping them upside the head. Bravo. I devoured the books and will look for more of Ophelia Sexton books.
There is a LOT of damsels in distress but for the most part there isnt that much useless damsels. They have some gumption. They are also similarly bubbly which is a bit one note the men are written more diversly than the ladies but its a fun collection nevertheless
I honestly didn't read the book. I listened on audible. I love listening to the series while getting chores done and living in my own personal soap opera. It seems that the shifter world have their diversity issues. I love how the events are spaced apart from each other and we meet so many people in the town instead of just the couple of the book.
In this series the writing really wasn't bad, but I usually come away from this type of read saying how much I enjoyed becoming friends with the characters, well hear there was not one character I would want to have a cup of coffee with. I think that's sad.
Really great box set! Love men of service and these firefighters were HOT. It only made it better that they were shifters. Was very pleasantly surprised to find Saber tooth shifters in this box set. I do believe that was a first for me.
These books have suspense, love humor, to drama, and a lot of humor, all wrapped in each book. The author did a great job. If you like fantasy romance you need to read this set.
All the books have one occurring storyline, no matter your past, family and the town have your back. One can be a different shifter or an ordinary, either way, they will be loved and protected.
This is the first box set from this author for me and wow I was not disappointed. The stories are really well written and gripping. You just can't stop turning the pages. Each book is about one brother but they all feature throughout.
If you love firefighters and shifters you will not want to miss out on this box set!! Bearpaw Ridge is an amazing place to live amongst other shifters!! When someone is in trouble the town rallies around each other!! The Swansons find love!!
Audiobook review - Both box sets are full of classic PNR romance tales. Shifter families finding their fated mates, feeling accepted and building a community. If you are a shifter fan, you'll like these family-centric, low heat, insta-love tales with memorable characters.
Def a must read! Love love this author! It’s such a wonderful set of books! Can’t wait to read the second set!! I read all these books in 4 days! Omg! Soo darn good!!
Loved all the stories, thor and cassie,Ellen and Justine I'd like the best. I couldn't stop when I'd started this box and I can't wait to read the rest. Grabbing my attention and holding it till I'd finished the story.
Great series. Can be read as a stand alone but better if it's read consecutively.
Each story is about a different Swanson brother (and 1 about their Mom) there are 5 of them, who are bear shifters, and how they meet their fated mates.
The first Book (Dane & Annabeth) was so good, I bought Box Set #1. After spending hours chain-reading all 6 books, I couldn't stop. I just purchased Box Set #2. Special characters in fascinating stories in a wonderful community.
Well written en story of shifters and their would be mates
Good characters and writing that lets the reader read rapidly through the individual stories. Each story is stand a lone and allows for the reader to read in any order.
With this boxed set focus on Swanon's, fated mates, trauma and chaos, and family first values, makes a read of terrific heartfelt thrills. Loved the characters, Mama bear Elle complaining until her 5th daughter in law is a bear.
This compilation was. Excellent set of stories that allowed the reader to be immersed in the family dynamics, joys, pains, and happily ever after sod the characters.
Thoroughly enjoyed all the Couples in these books very much. I love reading about all the Couples each book made my day. Thank you for writing these books.
