Christmas is fast approaching, and around the Inn, Suzy and Josie are looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the holiday season with their friends and family. But when a box of puppies is dropped off on their doorstep on a frigid night, the chain of events that unfolds leads them straight to a murder and an illegal puppy mill that’s operating in the area. And as they follow the trail, they’re drawn deep into a complex web that involves a rather unique international smuggling ring. With the help of Rooster, Suzy’s longtime friend who’s all too comfortable playing by his own rules, she and Josie find themselves in the middle of a major conspiracy and trying not to take things too personally. But given the fact that dogs are involved and at risk, that’s easier said than done. The whole cast of characters is back for this rollicking adventure set against the backdrop of Christmastime in theThousand Islands and readers should be prepared for a wild, and often cold and wintry, ride.
The Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries features two of the smartest and funniest lead female protagonists to hit the cozy mystery scene in a very long time, and Suzy and Josie’s affection for food and their boundless love and devotion to their dogs puts this new series in the Don’t Miss category. The Case of the Caged Cockers is another fast-paced and funny cozy mystery installment in this series that affectionately focuses on dogs, food, and the natural beauty of the Thousand Islands region.
In an effort to tidy up my longest running Kindle Unlimited books, I decided to read this today. As always, Suzy and Josie keep up the same banter that inundated books one and two, with the same long running jokes. I needed a break from them after the first two, and I don't think I could stomach book four. Don't get me wrong, I like this series, but it's very similar each time we dip our toes in.
A fun mystery series, but a little cliched and overdone. Plenty of food references, don't read on an empty stomach!
Another brilliant installment by B.R. Snow, I hope that even when Z is reached this writer will keep this series going as each book seems to improve (although how you improve on perfection I am not quite sure!)
This one starts the day after Thanksgiving with Suzy, Josie and Claire enjoying another great meal (with all the talk of food in these books, I am never quite sure whether to file them under Cozy Animals or Cozy Food and Drink!), their evening is interrupted by a phone call that says a parcel is outside and due to expire, when Suzy and Josie find it they discover a litter of Cocker Spaniel pups, underweight, filthy and frostbitten ... oh and way too young to be taken from their mother.
This starts off the roller coaster of emotions and life that seems to revolve around The Thousand Island Doggy Inn, with smuggling and puppy farms being just the tip of the proverbial iceberg!
Very cute story, rescue dogs have a fabulous Inn to stay in, a great Vet to take care of them and so much love from the employees. The two main characters Suzy and Josie are a HOOT! How do they eat so much. In between all this, they solve a murder and find the culprits working a puppy mill. I love the Christmas ending.
I love this series. Although it is a tale that makes you think about the underhanded ways that some people think up to make illegal profits, it is basically a good, hold your interest, type of mystery. Funny characters, and some not so nice, as well as being well written.
Cozy Mystery with plenty of dogs including those rescued from a puppy mill. The main characters are well developed with interesting personalities. Chet Claire keeps the food flowing while Josie and Suzy help the police in solving crimes.
This series is for people that like a good light mystery and loving dogs is a plus. It's been fun to get to know these characters and watch them grow. I will definitely continue to follow it.
What's not to like? Laugh out loud humor, fun characters, interesting location, delicious food, and don't forget the many dogs! It could only be better with recipes ; at least for a few simpler soups.
I like this series. The plots are good. The characters are fun. I love that the stories revolve around the dogs. I am very annoyed with the constant she said, I said, Josie said, Jackson said. Give the reader some credit for being able to follow what is happening. It is very annoying because I listen to my books.
Great characters great story and dogs you'll laugh cry and be kept guessing till the end getting the next book now if you haven't read this series yet and you love a great cozy than this is for you
