Ooooh I love this book. Definitely my fav from Emily Bishop.
A hot firefighter and a journalist in danger. Oh yeah this got my name all over it.
This book gives the suspense and mystery from the the first page, and since then, I can't stop reading it.
So many questions, it makes me always suspecting everyone as a bad guy.
There's always new mystery in every corner. Although there's some facts that a bit weird for me and some unanswered questions, I still enjoying reading this book.

As for characters, I loveeeee Isaac, an alpha hot firefighter with problems. He always do whatever he thinks right, even though it's breaking the rules. I love his protectiveness for someone he loves. You can't not love the man who will do anything to protect you, right? So yeah I love this man.
And Scarlett, I'm a bit dislike her, it seems she always choose the wrong way, got me frustrated most of the time, but I understand her, considering what she's been through, but still she's not my fav heroine.
These two are pretty similar even though they come from different line of work, they're so perfect for each other, and I love how their relationship develop from stranger to lover.

If you're looking for suspense romance read, this one might be perfect for you.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am an Emily Bishop fan and have been all along, but this book just kinda felt like a let down. There were so many discrepancies in details big and small that I had a bit of trouble actually focusing in on the story itself. Some of the discrepancies were small, like clothing details being forgotten, and at least one was from an improperly edited scene that accidently cut what the male protagonist was reacting to. I really REALLY wanted to love this book based off of its awesome blurb alone, but I feel the book fell short of my expectations for this usually very talented author.

Scarlett, the female protagonist, was a research journalist hot on the heels of a career making story. When the baddies decide she is just too close to making a discovery they leave her to die in a burning warehouse.

Isaac, the male lead, was a bit of a hot shot fireman with problems of his own. When he discovers Scarlett, his neighbor, in a warehouse fire he is fighting, old demons and deep protective instincts flare to life.

Some of my issues with this book include Scarlett herself. I think she was supposed to be a badass, take no crap, uber independant, anti-distressed damsel, but she didnt actually come across as such. She was actually stupid in her quest to prove how independant she thought she was. She became the damsel in distress through her efforts to be stupid-strong. It pissed me off.

Isaac was better, but not by a ton. He tried to be understanding to her sensibilities but, again, his character ended up falling in the stupid category. Seriously, nobody called the police, who ought to have been involved from the start, until like 75 percent of the way through. Scarlett was nearly murdered. Police would have been stationed at her damn hospital room door to interview her. They would have been investigating who beat her face, tied her to a chair, and set fire to a building she was in to murder her. Police dont ignore that stuff, cuz murder, even attempted murder, is taken seriously.

Honestly, I was going to rate this two stars, but the last two or three chapters were better, more like I expect from Emily Bishop, and sorta "saved" this hot mess of a book. So I gave it three stars. The concept of this book was wonderful, I really liked the idea of the plot, but, for me, the actual book could have been better.

Some of the reviews I read before starting this story said that Scarlett had a brain injury so it was ridiculous to have sex after waking from her coma. There was also mention that the police weren’t involved until the very end. Well, I’m not sure if the story has been edited or not from when those reviewers read it but there was never a mention of a brain injury, just smoke inhalation and memory loss? And there was actually several mentions of the police, they came to the hospital and to her apartment and even Isaac's apartment if I remember right.
That doesn’t mean I didn’t have my own issues with the story.
There were A LOT of editing issues including entire words missing occasionally. The h, Scarlett, was annoying in her “I don’t want or need help while running face first into mortal danger”. Especially at the beginning she was rude, abrasive, obnoxious. I know you woke up in the hospital but come on! And you wonder why you didn’t get one single visitor other than Isaac who is practically a stranger?
She really did spend most of the time reminding me why she was an unlike able character. And made poor choices. And had personality switches every couple chapters.
Overall, the story was an ok read. I guess I was hoping for a little more but it wasn’t terrible

I received an ARC of this book and HOT DAMN! It is definitely a must read! As I've come to expect from Emily Bishop's work, this book does not disappoint with its fantastic writing, gripping storyline that'll keep you on the edge of your seat and characters that are super sexy and easy to love. I adore the female lead, Scarlett; whose independent, career driven, feisty take charge attitude puts her in the middle of a news story so big she finds herself in danger and fighting for her life. Fortunately it also puts her in the arms of her irresistibly sexy firefighter neighbor Isaac, whose protective streak and panty melting bedroom moves will make you swoon. Their chemistry is smokin hot and their love scenes are a fabulous distraction from the intensity of trying to figure out who the badguys are and what they'll do next to prevent the main characters from finding the truth. There are times when Scarlett's tendency to charge in to any situation without thinking (or getting Isaac's help) is frustrating and I wish there'd been info on if/how Isaac ever got over his guilt from the past but other than that, the story is perfect, especially with that beautiful HEA. I highly recommend this book.

Scarlett is a journalist waiting for a big break to actually have her byline on a story. She was onto something major and someone wanted to shut her up so she ended up bound to a chair in a warehouse left for dead as the fire spread closer. Isaac is Scarlett's next door neighbor and a fire fighter he happens to be the one to find her in the burning building. Isaac is a bit of a risk taker due to things in his past and he ends up suspended from work because of the risk he took saving Scarlett. Scarlett is missing some of her memory and only Isaac knows so she has started a mission to figure out what she was working on before the killer tries again. Scarlett only feels safe around Isaac so that's where she has been going and that leads them both to give in to their attraction. Things get more intense when the people after her start going after Isaac too. Will they discover who is behind everything?

This was an amazing story once I started I couldn't stop until I knew who was behind everything. Isaac is a big alpha male and likes being in control. The chemistry between Isaac and Scarlett is electrifying with every page turned. I can't wait to read more by this author. Another five star hit!

I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

This book has a little bit of everything, romance, mystery, danger, even a dog! It was an enjoyable read.

Scarlett is a journalist trying to get her big break and move from researching stories to actual investigative reporting. She has evidently picked the wrong time to get good at her job. She finds herself tied up in a burning building, unable to escape.

Isaac is a firefighter with a few issues, one of them is his inability to stay out of burning buildings if there is a chance someone is inside. Luckily for Scarlett he disobeys orders and searches the supposedly empty warehouse where she is trapped. The two narrowly escape before the roof collapses. When Scarlett wakes up in the hospital she is surprised to see her handsome upstairs neighbor in the chair by her bed. Unfortunately, she can't remember most things that happened in the months proceeding her attempted murder.

The story is full of deception, intrigue, betrayal, and hot sex. I loved the way Isaac's dog, Buster, could pick out the bad guys. The story is a little convoluted, but the connection between Isaac and Scarlett makes up for it. The ending is nice, too.

I was given a copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

This book was ok. It started out strong but kind of fizzled by the end.
Scarlett is a research journalist hot on the heels of something big. She gets too close to finding the truth and ends up being left in a burning building to die. Isaac, a firefighter and Scarlett’s neighbor realizes when he goes out on the fire call that she is his neighbor who he ends up dragging out of a burning building to save. While Scarlett is recovering in the hospital, Isaac visits to make sure she is all right. Part of the problem I have with this book is that there were no police involved after Scarlett was recovered from the fire. I am pretty sure they would want to know who beat her, tied her to a chair and left her for dead in a burning building. The police would have also questioned her about what she was investigating or researching that might have contributed to her injuries. Isaac looks after Scarlett when she gets released from the hospital. She recovers with Isaac’s help. Eventually Scarlett pieces together what she was investigating and even though Scarlett feels like she can handle all of it herself, if it were not for Isaac, she would probably end up dead again. Together they solve the dilemma. Overall this story was ok but it could have been so much more.

The photo on the front of the book really "spoke" to me as Isaac in the story. I'm sure most people would want a hero firefighter like him living next door to them. Scarlett certainly does and she's been crushing on him since he moved in. When they're together you can practically see the sizzling sparks flying from the pages of my Kindle, they are just so good together. When Scarlett is hurt she suffers partial amnesia but the ONE thing she does remember is Isaac and I can't blame her. He is everything that most women want in a hero and it just comes naturally to him. Scarlett is feisty and gorgeous and he can't get her off his mind and isn't even going to try. Emily Bishop has penned this fabulous page turning story that is sure to be a winner for us. With her flowing writing style and the details she gives us that make the characters come alive before our eyes so that the reader al,most feels as if they are a part of the story. Excellent story and I'm looking forward to her next book already! I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.

2nd read from this author. I must say I like the blurb a lot. It was very interesting but sadly after reading the story it didn’t went well as what I had expected.

The h Scarlett was a journalist and is a smart woman but somehow I question her intelligence in not going with her guts and keep making bad decision.

The H was great in a way. Though at first I just could not believe about where their relationship lies. They were neighbors, H rescued h, H realizes that he likes h and after rescuing her his protective instinct kicked in and takes care of her. Same as any other books.

The whole story felt like a copy of books that I had read before. H found h in a burning building rescued and memory loss. The story felt like it had a lot of potential with the amazing blurb but the whole story was just all over the place as there are no element of surprises and I guess the author just doesn’t know how to write a mysterious book without giving too much info on the way and not to feel force. I feel like the delivery and flow of the story was the problem. I might still give the author another try.

Journalist Scarlett Smith is left to die a fiery death in an abandoned warehouse. She is saved by her firefighter neighbor, Isaac Wright whom she has only ever met once.

Waking up in the hospital, Scarlett realizes that she is missing memories. Specifically, memories related to why someone would want to kill her. She is determined to figure out what she was working on that would cause someone to want her dead.

While recuperating from the fire and investigating her case, Scarlett and Isaac grow closer, building on the attraction from their first meeting. Although Isaac doesn’t want to get into another serious relationship after his failed marriage, he feels extremely protective over Scarlett and doesn’t want her to pursue the investigation.

Scarlett is stubborn though and won’t give up on unlocking what she has forgotten. Following the trail, she lands herself in trouble once more, possibly the deadly kind. Will Isaac arrive in time to save Scarlett again, or will her tenacity in regards to finding the truth be her undoing?

This was a great suspense filled story with several heated love scenes. The mystery of what Scarlett had forgotten kept me engaged and needing to find out what happened.

Emily Bishop is laying it all out for us in her newest novel!
This fast-moving oh so sexy suspenseful, mystery laced romance there is this alpha'd up Firefighter Issac and his equally aplha'fide dog Buster take a chance on the job one day, disobeying an order, saving a woman's life.
That woman was Scarlett his neighbor, a reporter; she had been onto something big before the fire, now looks like whoever knew about it wanted her dead because of it. If only she could remember it all.
Issac wants to protect her. Firefighter turned bodyguard/ detective, and this recovering reporter takes on the case of who done it- in the process, the fire between them that sparks is not one he could extinguish if he wanted too, but neither is the danger!
Mayhem, suspense, hotness galore sweet, touching moments, and SO MUCH stubbornness! I loved it!
So much is happening throughout, I could not put this book down!
Amazeballs characters rounded out this detailed goodness!
Crazy good read I suggest check ing out for yourself 4.5 stars!

This a story that will keep you on your toes about Scarlett and her new neighbor, Isaac. Scarlett is a journalist who finds herself in an unusual bind and wakes up from the ordeal with no memory. Isaac is a firefighter who is new in the area and happens to disobey his chief and goes into a burning building and ends up finding none other than Scarlett. Out of an unknown presence he has a need to protect and care for Scarlett and she feels secure and safe in his arms. There is a attraction between them that they both act on the night she gets out of the hospital. I love how independent and strong Scarlett is. Isaac is a very well built and sexy man who can handle his own with those trying to cause harm. There is an undeniable pull bringing them together can Scarlett stay out of trouble long enough to have a relationship? Can Isaac keep her safe or will those out to cause harm get to her first? You will love this mystery and keep you on the edge of your seat. I voluntarily received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Wow! I really enjoyed this book. It was packed with suspense, mystery and a fabulous couple. I was drawn in from the very beginning. I did not want to put the book down, wanting to know what happened to Scarlett that caused her to suffer amnesia for three months. How she wound up in a burning warehouse unconscious. I loved Isaac and his fearless nature when it came to rescuing her. This story was so well written and is one of my favorite books by Ms Bishop. I loved the chemistry between Scarlett and Isaac. Once the two realized the connection they had and the undeniable feelings they had for one another there was no tearing them apart. Issac was willing to do anything to protect her and Scarlett soon realized he was truly the only one she could trust to keep her safe and figure out what happened that lead to her present circumstances. The ending was so good. Loved the HEA!

Scarlett, an investigative reporter, finds herself embroiled in a story that leads to an attempt on her life involving arson. Isaac, a firefighter, responds to the scene of the fire with his crew and take risks with his own life to ensure that no one is in the building. Isaac's gamble pays off in being able to rescue Scarlett from the fire, recognizing her as his neighbor. Scarlett wakes up thinking it is August only to find out it is December, and she has no memory of the intervening months. As the story progresses Scarlett struggles to regain not only her memories, but her former life; all while exploring her feelings for Isaac. Saving Scarlett is a fast paced tale of steamy romance with a side of cool investigative journalism, warm amateur detective with a topping of humor, vulnerability, and personal growth.

A scorching afternoon read.

This was such a well written and compelling story, Emily Bishop well done on a great and hot read. Scarlett is a journalist determined to find out the truth after she was rescued from a fire that was deliberately set. Isaac is the firefighter that saved Scarlett from the fire and tries to keep her safe from the people that tried to kill her, but she doesn't make it easy. Even though she doesn't remember many of the events that led to her near demise, Scarlett is determined to find the truth and recover her memories. Unfortunately, the truth could be fatal. These are fascinating, characters, both are sexy and stubborn, and there is a cast of other unique characters. Fantastic read, with excitement and suspense. A must read romance with a happily ever after. 💋

I don't think this was one of Emily Bishop's better books, but I have yet to read one by this author that warrants the kind of bad reviews that some other readers are giving it. Why in the world people would be looking for deep meaning, realism and meaningful sex in this type of book? Perhaps they are looking at the wrong category? Perhaps they missed the last line of the book's description ("This steamy, contemporary, romantic suspense will keep you company tonight, tomorrow, and the day after. No cheating and a satisfying happily ever after!").

This story was a lot of fun and I enjoyed reading about a firefighter when most stories now seem to be about billionaire tycoons or secret babies. I thought this a fun read that was indeed steamy and is a book that I'm proud to say that I purchased.

Scarlet was a strong, fearless woman and it almost cost got her killed. While working on a story she comes across damaging information and a hit is put out on her. She's beaten and left for dead in a blazing warehouse when she's rescued by a sexy firefighter named Issac. Issac's sworn off love and women since his divorce, but Scarlet awakened lost desires and feelings. As she recovers she still dangerously pursues her investigation. Her relationship with Issac burns up the sheets and their chemistry is over the top. Lots of suspense and drama as the bad people come back to finish her off. No spoiler here, but this is a great book, well written with complex characters. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Saving Scarlett a five-star read that will have you so hot you will be scarlet in the face!! Emily Bishop you have done your-self proud with this one, my favourite read of your so far. I must say when I was picturing Isaac Wright I had a picture of a dude in my head and he’s super-hot, so maybe that’s why I enjoyed this read so much. But I actually think that it was the writing, ms Bishop had me wanting to throw myself down so that Isaac would throw me over his shoulder and save me. As let’s face it Scarlett wouldn’t need his help, she may be vulnerable and broken tied to a chair on a burning warehouse but she still has a composure about her, a fight for what she believes in.
This was such a well written and compelling story, Emily Bishop well don’t on a great and hot read.

A slow start. Well written book with great storyline and plot. A sweet romance book.

I love the couples journey towards their HEA. There is drama, family issues, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry in this amazing story. The twists makes this story different that expected. Instant attraction. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Like that it has an epilogue.

Lots of chemistry and hot scenes. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter. The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!

While trying to find out more information on n a crime Scarlett is reporting, she finds herself attacked, Tied to a chair while the building is set on fire. Luckily for her firefighter Isaac rushes into the building and saves her life. While working through more investigation of the crime the two become romantically involved, but when the bad guys come back to finish her off will the relationship be more than Isaac can handle or will Scarlett push him away in order to save him from her troubles? With adorable characters and a storyline that keeps the reader locked in from the opening pages this book is a must read.

Scarlett is a journalist who goes above and beyond to get a story. Isaac goes above in every fire he gets called to because of the one person that he failed to save. The person he saved in his recent rescue is Scarlett he becomes attached to her after the fire and he begins to give her the security that she seems to have needed and lost. Scarlett and Issac will find out what she uncovered and why the people who tried to kill her once will try for a second time. I’m all for strong independent women but at times in the story Scarlett was annoyingly stubborn and a little reckless. I’m thankful for Issac being the strong and competent voice of reason.

Holy hot fireman!!! I loved this fast paced story that's filled with danger, intruige, suspense and so much smoking hot chemistry you will need a fire hose to put it out! Scarlett is Issac's neighbor who has piqued his interest for months. When his fire company answers an alarm he is shocked to find her tied to a chair in the middle of the flames. His protective instincts kick in and he makes it his mission to protect her, whether she wants it or not! They can't deny their attraction and quickly give in. I don't want to give anything away, but this is a great suspense filled hot love story that you need to read!!!

I have to say that this Ms Bishop’s best work yet!! Absolutely LOVED everything about this book. It had a unique twist that keeps you interested and makes you not want to put the book down. I know I didn’t!
Issac and Scarlett live in the same apartment building and exchange small talk when they meet at the mailboxes but it wasn’t until he found her in an abandoned warehouse that was engulfed in flames, tied to chair and pretty much unconscious, that they truly began to get to know one another. I don’t want to give much away because this was a truly unique story that you just have to read for yourself!!

This story was nothing like I thought, it begins with someone chasing Scarlett and setting the warehouse she was in on fire. When the fire department gets there Isaac disobeys direct orders and jumps in and saves Scarlett but it earns him a suspension. Isaac is the only one who stays at her room but she has lost the last four months of her memory though who ever tried to kill her the first time hasn’t forgotten. This story has romance and danger and a lot of stubbornness.

Saving Scarlett
Issac is a firefighter and Scarlett is a new reporter. They just happen to be neighbors. She is kidnapped while trying to get the scoop on a story and placed In a warehouse that is set on fire. Issac is the one to rescue her and that’s when the story really takes off. It was very fast paced, well written with great chemistry. I loved Issac and Scarletts personalities. I was captured by the prologue and didn’t stop reading until the end. It was that good! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading this arc.

I really enjoyed this book! Scarlett & Isaac went on one heck of an adventure. A lot of great twists and turns!

I just wish there was a little more mystery to who the bad guys were. I felt it was a little too obvious. I felt that there was a little unfinished with one of the secondary characters. I don’t want to say who because it would give it away.

Overall I was hooked into the story and I couldn’t put it down! I loved Isaac & Scarlett and their chemistry together.

I enjoyed the story, sex in the first few pages and it was hot. Scarlett is the heroine and Isaac is the alpha hero. He's trying hard to be the hero but Scarlett is not letting him, she is really strong and independent. Mystery and intrigue throughout. It was a bit different as there was only the two of them, not a team of friends behind them that they could rely on. The epilogue was a nice touch at teh end as well, I really enjoyed the closure.

I received this book as an Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for an honest review.
