Quarterback's Virgin

Rate this book
Ava was barely starting her sophomore year at the university, and things were already starting to look bad. She spent every waking second in the library, pushing herself to the limit. She didn’t have time for anything else, but that didn’t change the fact that she had to survive, and that meant tutoring the meatheads.

Channing was doing fine. He didn’t care about his grades. He was having fun, and he knew that he could bounce back any time that he wanted to. But that didn’t matter to the coach. Channing had to maintain his academic standing if he wanted to stay on the team. He was going to have to get some help if he wanted to catch up.

He didn’t want to do it. It was a waste of time. He should’ve quit class and walked away, but Ava was a challenge, and the entire team was after her. The first man to pop her cherry was going to be the happy recipient of a hundred dollars.

It was sick, wrong—against everything he believed in, but he couldn’t stop himself. He wanted her and he wasn’t going to let anyone else beat him to it.

>Book review – The Quarterback’s Virgin

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is a standalone college romance with an HEA. Ava is a driven college student. She takes everything seriously. She tutors to work for money to send to her mom and sister. She doesn’t take any time to party or have fun. Her backstory seems based in poverty. She is determined not to live the same way she was raised. She has a BFF, but the connection between Ava and her BFF doesn’t seem realistic. Ava doesn’t seem to really care about the friendship. Ava doesn’t seem to give, only take in the relationship.

>Ava’s tutoring of the football team cause the team to make a bet on who will be the first one to sleep with her, as they all believe she is a virgin. Channing is the QB. He is forced to work with Ava and is also in on the bet. His motivation for joining the bet is mainly to win and keep the other players away from her. It is cute to see Ava come out of her shell and fall for Channing. The really unique part of the story is to see Channing question football. Anyone who has ever played a Division 1 sport in college knows that the workload is worse than a full time job. Channing really begins to question what he wants to do in his future.

>I wish there were more actual football scenes to really show what Channing would be giving up. This book is appropriate for a young adult (18+) audience. I am giving this story 4 stars. The story is not that unique, but has some interesting aspects. The really upsetting thing is that the story ended at the 35% mark. Bonus books are included, but not mentioned when the book is up for purchase. When I purchase a book, I do not want a novella and bonus books I am not interested in.

I voluntarily received an advance copy of this book. I thought it was sweet. Ava had a only wanted to focus on school so she can graduate with a high GPA since she knew the job market was going to be tough. Her friend Nicole also kept good grades but was a party animal. She'll beg Ava to live a little but Ava was not having it. That is until she tutors the one 'meathead jock' that she notices isn't as dumb as is teammates.

Channing is being forced to do tutoring or he's going to lose his starting position as quarterback. Meeting Ava was the best thing for him because she didn't mess around. You come to her for tutoring and that is what you got. No small talk just straight business and fifty dollars a session. After telling is best friend Mike who his tutor was he's informed of a bet they have on who going to pop her cherry first. Letting everyone know how disgusting they are for such a thing he leaves. But when Channing find out Jason is trying to win this bet and knowing how slimy he is, Channing gets in on the bet. The only thing is he's not willing to let anyone know if he wins. But not letting Ava know might be just as bad.

Entertaining read. A good amount of drama and happy.

Oh for the love of a good woman, that’s all any man needs, but do they see sense before that....heck no!!!! Channing is a top quarterback at school but he needs help with his studies. Then he meets Ava, studious, serious and with a lot on her plate. I felt sorry for Ava, she worked so hard and never seems to get any down time unless her friend Nicole dragged her out. Tutoring the other players on the team , all they seemed to do is give her grief. This story really drives home how much studying they have to do to get their grades.
Then when Ava meets Channing, her life is about to change, big time. Little does she realise there is a bet going on unknowingly to her, Channing only gets involved so the other guys won’t hit on her. Is doing the right thing for the wrong reasons enough... well time will tell. Channing and Ava are like two opposites, drawn together. Loved how their relationship developed and made them realise the important things in life. A really good story, loved it. My first I think by Ivy Jordan.

This was an okay read for me. I liked the beginning of the book and getting to know the characters but once Ava and Channing started getting together things just didn't jive for me very well. I started having a hard time connecting to the characters and what was going on. The way things starting playing out just didn't fit what had been introduced in the beginning. That's not saying that it events contradicted each other, I just had a hard time with the way that the characters started reacting to things. It didn't feel like what I thought they would do. Overall, the story was okay and fairly entertaining. It had a lot of potential but it just wasn't quite there for me yet. The sex is explicit and absolutely plays a part in the story. I finished the story and it wasn't that bad, I just lost the connection that I had in the beginning. I'd definitely check out another book or two by Ivy Jordan, like I said, it had potential.

I love sports themed books and jock/nerd romances are my favourite college romances, so this book was right up my alley!

Ava and Channing pretty much personify the saying "opposites attract". Ava is serious, studious and about as anti-social as you can get. Channing is a popular football player who gets lots of action on and off the turf.

Personally, I thought it took a bit for this book to warm up, but once it did I really enjoyed it. Ava ends up having to tutor Channing and Channing ends up trying to win a stupid fraternity bet by claiming her virginity. Channing did this to protect her from the other meatheads on the team and because he did genuinely start to care about Ava, but Ava doesn't exactly see it that way when the truth hits the fan. (And I don't blame her one bit!)

I loved seeing Channing's protective side come out against his teammates and it helped me to believe that he could be worthy of Ava. Will she give him a second chance though?

Ava is a sophomore in college also working as a tutor for other students. Channing is the quarter back on the football team and he is struggling with most of his courses. He learns of a bet his fellow players have going on about Ava and starts having her tutor him to see if she is a frigid as they claim. Ava has no clue what the players are up to and genuinely likes Channing. Channing is trying to put a stop to the bet especially when things get serious with Ava. With Ava's help Channing has started passing most of his classes and they continued to grown closer. What will happen if Ava finds out about the bet?

This was a great story about young love. I really enjoyed it and couldn't put it down once I started it. This author really knows how to draw her reader into the story.

I received a copy of this for an honest review.

If you enjoy sports romance stories then this may be jus what you are looking for. Ava is determined to make something of herself and spends most of her time with her nose in her books studying or she is tutoring to help others. Channing is a football star and is struggling with his grades, if they don't improve he will no longer be able to play football. When Ava takes on the job to tutor him there is also a bet going around about having sex with her. Ava is a virgin, sophomore in college and a very sweet girl. These two have a lot of chemistry but can they go beyond teacher and student? Will that work when there's a bet going about someone taking her virginity? Will others make it difficult for them to explore more of a relationship? Well you will have to read to find out. It's a very enjoyable read.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book I have read by Ivy Jordan. I did have a hard time getting into the story but as I kept reading it did get a lot better. As I read on I understood better what the build up was about. Ava was a loner that studied all the time. She was very determined to get top grades in college. All her time was either spent studying or tutoring. Channing the up and coming next great quarterback was failing until he started taking his classes more serious. Ava helped with that. I loved how they fell for each other and really helped each other. They brought out the best in each other. This is a really good story after you get into it a few chapters.

I read the blurb on this and decided it would be a good next book, then put off reading it because it is not my usual gene of romance. Clearly I should have stuck with my first thought, because once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I loved Ava and Channing. The author did a great job developing their characters. I really enjoyed how the entire story played out. When I read any book I am always guessing how everything will progress and when. Though there were some aspects that I anticipated, there were still a few points where I thought, "huh, didn't see that happening." Not gonna lie, there were plenty of steamy scenes that kept those pages turning as well. Overall, it was absolutely a good read for me. (reader review copy)

Ava always has her nose stuck in a book and has no time extracurricular activities unlike her friend Nicole. Channing as the school’s quarterback is the big man on campus but he’s failing and needs a little extra help otherwise he’ll be hitting the bench. Both Ava and Channing had certain assumptions of the other but when they let down their guards they find that they have more in common than they realized. The more time Ava and Channing spent together the more the saw the world in a new light. That they knew life was more than the life they were currently living. That they lived in a world that infinite possibilities.

After her childhood, Ava became determined to make something of her future. Channing had everything handed to him and is now struggling to stay on the football field. One bet changes everything. What will they do when feelings become involved? Will Ava forgive Channing when she learns the truth?

You get the cocky quarterback who actually has a heart and the virgin who is determined to not like people. These two characters in the start were complete opposites, but I loved how they bring other sides out to each other. I did think that Ava's best friend was pushy at times and should have kept her mouth shut. Loved how Channing's heart showed through several times. Good read!

This is a sweet story about a jock and a nerd. Both smart and fairly sensible. The characters are mostly like-able. There were times that the story dragged and then others where it was too wordy. I get the flourishing description of the intimate act but one can compare to volcanoes and flowers and constellations so many times. The “arguments” seemed to resolve too quickly so it made me question how strong their own belief systems were. The story, though not new, was still very entertaining. 3.75 stars.

This is the first book I have read by Ivy Jordan and I have to say I fell in love with the writing. This was a heartfelt first love and I had to continue reading to see how the relationship developed and where it would go. When there finally was trouble I couldn’t believe that it would end that way, but like most love stories this one has a happy ending as well, but with an unexpected ending. I did feel that it ended a little abruptly, I want to know what happens next. I can’t wait to read the next Ivy Jordan book!

Well written but feels very forced and it is not flowing fluently storywise. There are lots of repetition in the story. It has a lot of potential to be a knock out story but it lacks depth and emotions. It has a very short start, feels sometimes boring but keeps going better towards the ending.
It has hot scenes, sometimes great chemistry. Like the frase "Sex with you is an Artform". There are drama between the parents and friends. I could not stand Nicole for most of the story.
Great plot and amazing aspects.

I'm disappointed in myself for reading this even when I knew the whole story from just the title. Whatever.

It was not bad but you know after reading so many wonderful books. It just feels like a drag when you read a book which is so easily predicable.

I like how the author writes, I just don't like this whole virginity bet thing. The reason why I hate the After series too. Couldn't read or watch it. It just decreases your IQ level.

So I'm going to give this wonderful author another chance and read one more book written by her. Let's see how that goes.

Well, this one was a lot heavier than most of the Sports related romances. It was painful in spots...and the main characters shared every moment of their heartfelt emotions with us. Give this a read...it will hurt your heart but in the end—Love always wins. You’ll love the HEA! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was really surprised by its intensity and ultimate HEA.) ❤️

This was such a great book and I fell in love with Ava and Channing. Channing is the quarterback and is lagging behind in school and the coach has gotten Ava to coach him. There's a bet going around the football team that the first person who hits Ava's V card get $100. Channing wants to win. In the meantime he falls in love with her. A sweet romance, but no spoiler here - what happens when she finds out about the bet. I read an arc copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

This story started out a little slow for me, but I'm glad I kept reading. The more it started picking up, the more I enjoyed it, anticipating how both Ava and Channing would respond once she found out the truth of the bet. Would she forgive him? Would he be able to convince her his feelings were real? Overall, this was a good story.

The characters in this story really come to life! The way that Channing and Ava meet and start their relationship was both sweet and heartbreaking. Knowing what was going on in the background angered me, but it also made them both stronger. I live Ivy's work and can't wait to see what she's got up next. Long, drawn out, unrealistic

I hated this. It was so hard to stay engaged in and I had to skim through to the end finally. Hated her, thought he was a painstakingly boring and the epilogue was the absolute worst part. I didn't even bother reading the bonus book. I hate leaving negative reviews, but seriously this book was excruciating to read and the ending made it even worse.

Short storys

This book is a collection of short stories.

It wasn't what I expected to find and was hugely disappointed as this wasn't mentioned in the synopsis.

I took the time to read a couple of the books thought they were ok nothing special.

Personally my advice is not to bother.

An enjoyable story about an athlete figuring out what he really thinks is important and the girl who helps him along. Both main characters are likable but the side characters are pretty much all annoying.

Just ok

The storyline was good, and the love story that blooms is awesome I loved that. The love scenes were confusing and weird to me though. A sweet story though I did think it was ok.

This author really has a way with words whether describing walks in the woods or lovemaking. Wasn't impressed with the first half of the book, but Jordan really earned five stars with both plot and writing style as she brought it to a happy ending!
