Another Stupid Trilogy #2

Another Stupid Demon

Rate this book
Another Stupid Demon is a first person high fantasy novel, the second book in Another Stupid Trilogy. The tone and vocabulary of the story shifts as our narrator, Sorch the orc, finds ways to enhance his intelligence. You get to grow as Sorch grows, learn as he learns, and share his most intimate thoughts.

Sorch is an orc mage in a world where orcs are cursed with stupidity every time they cast a spell. After thwarting an evil plot to destroy Royal Moffit, Sorch became the prisoner of a demon worshipping cult. They imprisoned him in an attempt to steal his nightmares.

One daring jailbreak later, and Sorch is unleashed upon the world again. This time, however, he's not so sure that he wants to go back to a life of magic and adventure. It would be a long, difficult road. And being the smartest orc in all of Panos wasn't all fun and games the first time around.

But with the help of a new friend, Sorch rediscovers his purpose in life. He embarks on a quest to save his friends, who were trapped on another plane of existence. During his travels he encounters more horrible injury, more magical treasures, casual love, noisy roommates, wild elves, university midterms, a plot against all of Panos, and then of course he saves the world. Or does he?

That was awesome!

Wasn’t sure how you’d follow up on that one. Turns out I did not have to worry at all. All the crowd pleasers were touched... feels, action, irony, love, small minor twists that don’t seem to matter but gently setup book 3...

Twas a well written book. Well done sir.

Excellent

An excellent sequel to the first book, expanding and growing the characters and action. The characters feel real, including the results of their encounters. Their personalities are unique and developed. The editing is top-notch as well. Once again the original premise is used well, without side stepping the results. It seems there’s room for another story too, and that makes me happy. If you’re a fantasy fan, and especially a D&D fan, then you should read these books. Definitely Recommended.

Absolute Great Rollercoaster

This story of an Orc who loses intelligence every time he cast a spell makes you feel stupid, then when he does his intelligence enhancement you feel smart. Somehow this story makes you feel like you are in this story. I love it and me want more of it.

Ricardi's writing style tends to incorporate humor and whimsy into a fantasy setting, offering readers a blend of amusing magical mishaps and unconventional characters. If "Another Stupid Demon" follows the pattern of its predecessor, it might continue the protagonist's adventures in navigating a world of magic while dealing with humorous situations and challenges.

The success of the book would largely depend on the reader's preference for light-hearted fantasy and comedic elements within the genre. Ricardi's previous works in the series might offer a clue about the style, character development, and narrative structure that readers can expect from this installment.

For a more detailed and accurate assessment of the specific book "Another Stupid Demon (Another Stupid Trilogy, #2)," I recommend referring to professional reviews, reader feedback, or book summaries available online.

I did like reading "Another Stupid Demon" but I found it lacking the none stop excitement of "Another Stupid Spell" which was absolutely riveting. This one had a number of chapters that just didn't draw me into Panos or feel the magic flowing. Mr. Ricardi is a great writer as I am a fan of books that are not full of sexual content, graphic violence or even much crude language, it takes real talent to write stories without these items. I very much enjoyed this part2 and I am just about to start #3, book 2 ended with some very interesting turn of events.

After months of captivity, Sorch is rescued by his friends. To protect them and especially Ames, he did them away in his mind so that he wouldn't reveal anything about them under torture. As a consequence, he doesn't remember them and because he wasn't able to do his Enhance Intelligence spell each day, he no longer has the 'smarts' he used to have.
There is a lot of action in Another Stupid Demon, and some drastic changes. Sorch also finds out that he is a father and that others knew this fact before he did.
Let the adventure continue.
Happy reading. Annemarie

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first one. There were some very small inconsistencies with the established limits of the spells (at least I think so).
The author also seems to like to start his books with the protagonist being stupid.

The author going out of his way to purposely hide that Cat's gender was also annoying. But I know it's a female. He slipped up last book and called her a she.

I'll probably read the next book, but I'm not in a hurry to do so.

Loved it! Fun , light reading. Perfect for on the bus or waiting for appointments. I need to remember not to read it to fall asleep, as I end up staying awake, engaged in the story, way, way past bedtime.

Hilarious

Great book I like how they make fun of everything. It’s a good book showing the basics of any fantasy book. I would love it if they did another stupid sci-fi trilogy lol

Fun light read. I wish there was a bit more parts that were written at different IQs. Most of the story is segregated between either high or low intelligence, with not many parts written as a mix.
