This volume gets Fina and Yuna mithril and bearyillium so the black tiger can be harvested, as well as introducing Nerin, Morin's niece. Yuna makes strawberry shortcake to sell in her shop, and tells everyone that it can make them fat since they apperently don't know this. She has her rather mean moments in this one as well, though thats been an ongoing thing. I am enjoying learning more about this world, and am interested to see where the bearyillium plot goes.
Probably the best Kuma Bear volume since 4, we're fully done with the Crimonia/Mireera merger and Yuna is free to start another adventure with a clean slate. The first half concerns her fighting particularly troublesome golems in the mithril mines and it's really fun. We have some of the cutest and funniest Fina scenes of the series as well.
The second half though is yet another food adventure and while it is cute and enjoyable this is at least the third time we've had a whole arc of Yuna recreating a traditional food, showing it to her friends, and selling it at the cafe and the process of her going around to every individual friend, getting an opinion, and then teaching someone to make it is getting a bit tedious and repetitive.
Definitely my easiest time reading this series in Japanese so far and had some good mining terms to pick up, though I worry I may find difficulty continuing more from the story if it stays fairly repetitive.
Yuna beats up golems just to get a knife for Fina and then introduces obesity to the fantasy world.
To be honest, she was on her way to the latter anyway having introduced hamburgers and pizza, but now she's brought in sugar-rich cake. Bad Yuna.
More of the same, really. Just as good as the last one. Unfortunately, this is the last volume available in English currently, so I'll have to find something else to read.
7th volume in and this series still cracks me up. Although there isn't a lot of character growth, the books are marked with very clear and interesting story arcs where Yuna goes to inadvertently rescue something or someone. In this volume, Yuna ends up fighting a bunch of golems in a mine in order to acquire the mithril knives she really wants. Along the way, she continues making new and exciting food and products and manages to find a much-needed new employee.
Another cozy installment into this series! I liked volume 7 because it has a good mixture of action scenes in the first half and then more cozy scenes in the second half. I enjoy scenes in The Bear Lounge with Yuna developing new things for the bakery, and Yuna expanding her restaurant empire. I'm looking forward to continuing on with the series.
