Highly readable, and gives rise to much concern. Clearly the issues related to AI ethics are complex, multi-faceted and high-stakes. AI itself is likewise each of these! Boddington's book sets a good, solid pace in addressing the areas of ethics in general; the specific challenges raised by AI; professional codes of ethics; and the challenges of developing and enforcing meaningful codes. There are many agencies claiming to explore AI ethics, and not much solid output as yet. Boddington's book outlines why these agencies may be taking so long to come to any conclusions, and also explains why their work is so vital.
