Caleb and Scarlet Make an Ex Tape 1

Rate this book
Art college final project? Sometimes you play it safe, sometimes you make an ex tape.
CALEB

Scarlet's always been a red hot mystery to me. I've known her my entire life and she's definitely my best friend, but...

I'm also in love with her? Yeah, it's complicated.

Then she asks me to star in her final art project for college. I'm thinking an artsy black and white indie film, but she goes full steam ahead with what she likes to call her "ex tape."

Look, there's two ways this can go: bad or catastrophic.

Maybe that's what I need, though. To pretend date her and pretend break up with her so I can get everything out of my system and move on with my love life.

Even if it's fake, if it's pretend, if it's temporary... at least then I'll know what it's like.

Except what if I want more after?

I need to remember this is just for her art project.

SCARLET

Why doesn't Caleb have a girlfriend? I have no freaking clue.

Listen up, ladies. Caleb has the abs of a Greek god and a smile that will literally make you want to have his babies immediately. I should know seeing as he's my best friend. And no, you can't date him. Sorry? Not really.

Since he doesn't have a girlfriend and he's my best friend... why not make an ex tape? I want to create something classic yet controversial, steamy and transformative.

Ex tape. Ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. Get it?

And, you know, we'll bang. It'll be like an adult movie with an artistic twist.

It's for my final project. We're just pretending to be a couple. We aren't actually dating.

This doesn't mean I'm going to fall in love with him for real.

It definitely doesn't mean I'm already in love with him...

AWFUL BOOK!!!! This is a HORRIBLY written book. The main character is writing the book as if she is talking directly to the reader and the character is EXTREMELY immature and it is very hard to continue reading the story. The main character is narrating the story and unneccessarily swearing A LOT. Throughout the whole story I was thinking how can two people be so incredibly stupid that they can't figure out that the other person likes them as more than a friend? It is so obvious in their words and actions (ie: Scarlett notices that Caleb always has an erection around her) that they would have to be the two dumbest people on the planet not to figure it out that they really like each other as more than just friends. Ok here is a MAJOR CLUE... They are dry humping to practice their roles they will play in the video tape and Caleb "accidentally" slips his penis into Scarlette's vagina and screws her for a few minutes before they separate. Both Caleb & Scarlett play it off as if it was just an accident and neither of them meant to actually allow such a thing to happen. They are ridiculously stupid...and the whole idea of an ex tape for a school art project? Since when is a porn tape "art" that a college professor would ever give a student credit for? I have read some silly erotic romance books, but this one definitely is the worst by far. Oh and the absolute worst part is I read the entire book in a very short amount of time and there is no conclusion AT ALL. I read a lot of romance series and usually books have a whole story with a conclusion...maybe a little cliffhanger, but not a book with absolutely no loose ends tied up at all. The characters are just so immature and stupid I don't even care how their story ends so I won't be buying any of the other books in this series.

👍

This story was slow to begin with, but became increasingly enticing to the point where I could not put it down. I feel like the ending was incomplete, I wanted- for lack of a better word- more. I wanted to know more than what I was told; it came to a point where I just couldn't put this book down. Over all, this novel deserves a high rating because it was deliciously good.

Hilarious

I love the innocence, the desire to explore, the growing emotion and the naughtiness of this story. Not to mention that the characters are so adorable and hilarious. Looking forward to read more.

Mia's approach to a story is different than most. I would have liked to see this book truly focus on Caleb and Scarlet story instead of going back to Ashley and her brother. This series is definitely fun for in-between book reads.

Hmmmm

That's some kinda best friend. I can just picture them side by side. They would be so cute. I love them together already. I, of course, got to know them in Stepbrother with Benefits, so that helps with loving them so much. Scarlet is amazing! I want her as my bestie.
