For thousands of years, members of The Order of the Knights of the Round Table have secretly protected the realm of men from the realm of magic. In the centuries following the collapse of Roman rule in Britain, the prophet Myrddin discovers a nefarious plot to destroy The Order. Even further troubling, the traitors plan to wipe out the bloodline of Arthur and the mighty sword Excalibur, which would release an ancient blight to wreak havoc on both realms. Can Myrddin stop the traitors in time?
Overall, not a bad introduction to a different view of King Arthur and the knights of the round table.
The story was let down by some issues with the prose, the functional application of writing fundamentals, and at one particular point, a huge info dump in the form of rehashing history by an old, wise, character.
One thing that struck me as a bit odd was how many characters died. It seemed an inordinate amount, particularly given how short this novella was.
Ultimately, it’s not a bad idea, it just needs a bit more polishing to get it up to scratch.
A few things I noticed:
(All throughout manuscript!)- editing needed to cut out repeated words close together. 60% - …gathering up there (their) cargo… 64% - formatting issues with speech marks and punctuation. 68% - …of that contained (container) as well.
