A planet nearly lost to civil war, two seemingly identical races the players. In a last-ditch effort to save their civilization the Vercetians have sent three of their royals off-world to protect their way of life from the Trun. Safe on earth, plans are made and assumptions shattered.

This book had some fantastic world building. Admittedly, I don't read a lot of science fiction but when a friend raved about this I decided to give it a go. I loved all the details and POV changes, which can sometimes detract from the plot. Just when I thought I had everything figured out more information had me scrambling to correct my false assumptions. I was disappointed at the end of the book because it means I need to wait for book two. Pick this up if you're looking for a little alien adventure!

A superb debut novel. Great characterisation, imaginative plot twists and a cliff hanger ending, when's the next one out?
