Rate this book
Young, small-town cop Xander James finds himself in dangerous situations. The life of a peace officer feels like you’re in a war zone some days, that’s just the job.
When the lives of those he cares about are on the line, it’s a whole different story. He needs to keep his wits about him. Fighting off the urge to panic long enough to help those he loves. Thought, reasoning, and gut instinct are about all he has to operate on. He would gladly trade his life for theirs, but will he have that option?

This is a page turner. I started at 3:00pm and watched some TV in the middle and finished the book at 8:30pm. Xander is really growing as a police officer. His relationship with Bailey is growing. New police chief Peters takes an entry. And there is a policeman named Sam. The two Mack and make a reappearance. And then there is Hattie Smith and her great grand-daughter Isabelle. Now you figure out which one is kidnapped and who does the discovery. Vickie does a great job developing characters.
I highly recumbent this book. You don't need to read Code 211 first but it does give you more understanding of repeated characters. The next one is Code 480. They are all on Kindle Unlimited.
I am not starting it today.

A action packed suspense by good storyteller, Vicki Knob. Kind hearted Xander finds himself wrapped up in the middle of deceit. A love story is woven into the threads of this novel. Will we get to enjoy Xander again in a third book? I recommend this page turner.
