The Academy is in turmoil, the Collapse looming, and Kismet and her Guardians are still reeling from a great personal loss. With no time to recuperate they must pull together even closer than ever before.
Their fate brings them to the fabled city of Shangra where the few Academy survivors plan to regroup and recover their losses. It's a strange place where the Old Magic still reigns, protected from unwelcome outsiders by the mysterious Dome. Or so they think. Trouble follows Kismet as always, and despite discovering new truths about herself and others Kismet and her Guardians are forced to travel to Fairy before they are fully prepared.
Doom and Zen have their own mission to carry out. They must get the word out to the Shifters about the Madness and try to recruit them to ally with what remains of the Academy. All seems to go well until the Collapse strikes again and Doom comes face-to-face with difficult truths. Their journey brings the story back to Loji where they'll be forced to confront unstable magic, vampires, and demons if Creation is to have any chance at all.
Meanwhile in Fairy, Kismet must solve the mystery left behind by her mother and the demands of a selfish Summerland Prince. It doesn't help that someone is trying to kill him. Kismet, Reif, Liam, and Mason struggle to restrengthen their bond with the weight of multiple worlds on their shoulders and both Chaos and the Collapse working against them.

Initially I gave this a 3 but the more I think of it the more pissed off I get.
Quick question...as a parent if you do NOT teach your child that stealing is bad and your child steals who’s at fault? Your correct? YOU didn’t teach them the right way...
A similar situation happened here...in Book 2 the guys froze Kis out. THEY didn’t foster the bond the right way EVEN though they were told to. THEY didn’t teach her the proper ways. THEY failed BUT in this book Kis accepts fault for what she didn’t know....
Yep! The H had sex with OW but Kis is at fault because she didn’t know to what exactly? They never told her what to do! They never helped grow the bond. They didn’t even really talk to her but she’s magically suppose to know to do something? Fuck that dude! Plus we only get about 5 min of her being pissed and then the whole subject is dropped...WTF! The OW disgraced and put down Kis in front of everyone and did any of the Hs step up to defend her? Nope...it was Kis’s brother who put the OW in her place! Nothing felt resolved with the OW...even the fact that the OW was possessed and killed people and tried to kill Kis. Yeah, no big deal....
Kis and the guys may be bonded but right now I don’t believe any of the “love” between them. They haven’t worked out any of their problems. They failed miserably and she accepts fault because they failed to tell her anything...yeah, that makes sense.
Anything I possibly liked in the first two books was completely lost in this book. I hated everything about it. With a main character and 3 love interests i do not need any more POV's...this book gives me at least 3 others that I couldn't possibly care less about. I don't care about Doom's crush on what'e her face...I have zero interest in Benjamin and his group, where the heck did he come from anyway. Also the whole "omg don't think about sex but they're so hot" thing got old in chapter one.
Very hard to get back into characters. Too much going on and very disconnected at times. If you are looking for a good rh story this is very slow! Maybe it would have been better if I re-read the first two book s but I have so many other book s I want to read. I miss Jax!
It took me a little longer to get through this one but I made it! I’m still not over the loss of Jax damn it! And poor Doom, he deserves some happiness. Now the waiting game.
