There are three things Jeannie Jackson knows for certain:
1. Relationships are more trouble than their worth. 2. There's no such thing as too much of a good thing. 3. She's never going back to Cotton Creek.
When tragedy strikes, pulling her back to her hometown and right in to the arms --and bar--of the last man she ever expected to see again, Jeannie starts to wonder what else she's been wrong about and whether love, like every other vice, is too addictive to walk away from....
L.M. Pruitt has been reading since before she can remember, and writing nearly as long. She fell in love with New Orleans after spending one week there, and visits the city as often as her schedule permits--which isn't nearly often enough. She is the best selling author of the Jude Magdalyn series, the Moon Rising series, the Frankie Post series, and the Winged series. She makes her home in Florida.
I absolutely loved this book! In all honesty at the beginning I wasn’t enjoying it but less than a quarter of the way through I couldn’t put it down. I read all the time about high class executives in big cities or rock stars but Abraham is just a bar owner in a small Georgia town. But he is smoking hot! Not only in looks but in attitude and the way he treats people. He has his secrets that not many people know about. This is a book about how things aren’t always as they appear on the surface. It’s quirky and fun at times and intense other times. Definitely recommend picking this one up and spending some quality time with Jeannie and Abraham!
Received an ARC at no cost to author..This is the first book that I have read from this author but it will definitely will not be my last. I love books that are well rounded and this was perfectly so. We have sadness, triumph, laughter. We meet Jeannie who has returned to small town living, to her old hometown something she never thought she would do. There were circumstances involved for the return and I am happy she did, because her life ended up changing. You can not help but root for her, because the poor woman had cruelty thrown at her and I was happy for her love interest she truly truly needed that. Enjoy!!!!!
Growing up poor in the small town of Cotton Creek . Jeannie has be humiliated and shunned most of her life . The mean girls group had their fun with her. She left and vowed never to return . That is until the day her sister dies and she has to head home to take care of her sisters kids . But this time things are different and she is stronger and ready to put anyone and everyone in their place . Then she runs into the boy who broke her heart but now he is the man she can't get enough of . Will they be able to put the past behind them and let love bloom . This is a quirky fun read . The characters are well written and complex. Jeannie and Abraham are so hot together in and out of bed . HOLY SMOKE is all I can say . Jeannie is as tough as nails and trying to keep it together while she settles back into life in Cotton Creek . She is a journalist that is highly regarded and has he own magazine . Its fun to see her out of her element with the kids . She keeps on going and grows stronger and more determined as ever . Abraham is sexy and also sweet . When they are together they are such a great couple . The rest of the cast of characters range from sweet to funny. The kids are the best though . Love Tammy she is trying so hard to be an adult she forgot how to be a kid . Dolly is an actress and is kind of explosive and sweet at the same time . Conway is just a little sweet heart of a boy . You will fall in love with all of them. Trust me on that one . This is a fun read that will keep you on the edge of the seat and cheering with every hurdle they jump over. The author wraps the funny and the sweet up in a great package . Noone deserves a happily ever after its Jeannie and Abraham . I can't wait to see if there is more coming from Cotton Creek . So if you want a quirky fun read that will keep you warm . Check out VICE .
Jeannie Jackson knows 3 things; relationships are more trouble than they are worth, & that's why she's doesn't do them. She knows that there's not such thing as too much of a good thing. And she's never going back home to Cotton Creek. However, when tragedy strikes, she's forced home to deal with her past. Which puts her in the arms of the last man that she ever thought she would see again, Abraham. Their pull is so strong that they hook up before she knows who he is, but even after she finds out the truth, she can't seem to stay away from him. Which leads to feelings that she will do anything to keep from developing, but will she be successful at keeping her heart locked away? Vice was a very original, quirky, and entertaining book that I couldn't get enough of. L.M. Pruitt's talented writing style shone brightly throughout this page turner, & I didn't want it to end. Jeannie & Abraham were TNT together, & when they blew, the explosion lit the sky up to where no pair of panties will be safe. And the colorful cast of secondaries kept me laughing hard in many different ways, & I fell in love with all of them. This town was full of craziness where you never knew what would happen next, and that was part of the quirky charm of this story! I'm praying that there will be more stories that come from the small town of Cotton Creek (hint hint), but in the meantime, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Vice to ALL!
Jeannie is determined that no man is worth having a relationship with, and when she has to return to her hometown, she meets a sexy alpha from her past, Abraham. The chemistry between these two is explosive, but will this be enough to change Jeannie’s mind about relationships and taking a chance on love? No spoilers; this is just one of those stories which is a must read, as you will certainly not be disappointed! This extremely talented author had written an original, entertaining and sexy storyline, which will pull at the heartstrings. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers, and I cannot wait to read more of her work!
Jeannie Jackson grew up in the very small town of Cotton Creek where everyone made it their business to know your business. Jeannie grew up in a trailer park with her sister after her father left and her mother died. People hate her and one horrible night changes her life for the worse. Poor Jeannie never before have I wanted a character to get a happy ending as much as I wanted her too. This book was well written and pulled at your heart string I mean how much bad luck can one person have?
I love the sassy Jeannie and the fact that she returns to be a guardian to her nieces and nephews. She also fought for her niece pregnant friend. Mr Hansom ahhh this guy... Hot and sexy Abraham has his way with Jeannie and is not afraid to voice it out or make it happen. The fact that every time Jeannie calls him Mr Hansom and how he reacts is hot which adds a touch to the story. I love their chemistry and I did laugh and cry with the characters. 💜
Everyone is addicted to something... Jeannie and Abraham have a rough past with lots of drama. Jeannie has a lot from her past to move on from before she can be happy. It takes a lot for Abraham to prove to her exactly his he feels but she finally gets it. Great read with lots of laughs!!!
Wasn’t sure what to make of this book. And thought I’d end up deleting it but what a little treasure it turned out to be. Great story and terrific if somewhat damaged characters who excelled at putting people in their place. Absolutely loved it. Well done to the author.
