For Cortney, signing on the dotted line was a no brainer. All she had to do was agree to spend a month getting to know a phoenix shifter—if she was a suitable match—and her student loans were paid. With one in fifty thousand odds, it was a risk she was willing to take. She hadn’t counted on being that one in fifty thousand, or on Draven being so sexy. Resisting his charms wouldn’t be easy, but at the end of the month, she would walk away. Debt free.
When one of Draven’s young phoenixes ends up dead in a hospital emergency room, Draven has to act fast. Otherwise, human lives will go up in flames—literally. But when a spitfire of a nurse steps in and refuses to let him through, his whole world changes. She’s not only a suitable mate—she’s his, and he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her to stay.
Interesting and enjoyable read about Phoenix shifters and how they find mates. So different to read about phoenix shifters and this is an interesting take on getting mates. Enjoyable with good likeable main characters and side characters I wouldn’t mind reading about. Draven was a typical alpha male but seemed to have some sense in how he treated Cortney. Cortney was a trauma nurse so not easily rattled. Other phoenix’s try to take Cortney and her friend Trista as they are compatible mates. Battle ensues against other Odyssey trying to steal the women.
Was fun to read book about Phoenix shifters! I hope there will be more in the series. Wish it was longer and the back stories more fleshed out, that's why the four star.
If you like hospital drama, men who flame up and fly then you will love this story. Special woman are what this dragon clan is looking for but the woman don't know that their special.
Courtney and Draven are both strong will who will win this battle of the sexes?
