Vicious Snakes MC #1

Accidentally Yours

Rate this book
All I wanted was a baby. Simple, right? The plan was to get sperm and have a baby. Sometimes plans don’t always go how we expect them to. I didn’t know one phone call could change my life, I didn’t know the deep voice on the other end would be the man I would end up with for the rest of my life. One mix up at the sperm bank and I am now stuck with a man who I have never met before. Someone who I have never had sex with, but I’m carrying his baby. Sometimes accidents happen for a reason, right?

Too much telling and not showing for me in this book. We are told she spends a lot of time getting to know Damien but we only get glimpses of this. We are also told she spends a lot of time alone with her dad getting to know him but we don’t actually see any of these moments. I guess my biggest problem is there isn’t enough dialogue. There was also the fact that they didn’t kiss until well over half the book and no sexy times until right at the end. While I understand the reason behind it, I’m not a huge fan of slow burn.

If you are a club whore of a club then you have the protection of that club until you are no longer wanted or needed. It’s cold, but club whores aren’t usually known for being lifers.

DNF

It may be unfair of me to judge the book this early (17% of the book) but I hate pretty much everything so far.
Theirs so many sexist cliché things :
He doesn't like women because they're all superficial and want his dick.
He doesn't like skinny girls "and they think it’s sexy when we can see their ribs".
He assumes before meeting her that she's gonna be "nagging me, or bitching to me about club pussy".
He doesn't like women, he said it himself "I don’t trust bitches, and I sure as fuck wasn’t going to start now."
That's a lot from someone that has daddy issues so now let's talk about the girl.

She's sooooo stupid
First time she meets him she has that monologue about not wanting to separate him from his child, never once thinking : Maybe I should prepare for the possibility that he doesn't want the child, wants her to abort or to sign papers to give up his rights.

Big spoiler : When she meets her dad, even if she has every reason to believe that he is her dad she stays clueless. She had a letter that explained everything from the beginning since she was 10 and never once thought of opening it because it wasn't her F****** name on the envelope!?!?
Like WHAT THE FUCK?

Their is more but I am done wasting my time with this book.

I can see why this has some low ratings, the editing could do with some work, and because it’s a short story it’s compacted and the character build up isn’t that good.. however, I really bloody enjoyed it, is it as good as other books I’ve given 5 stars? No, but I rate for my own benefit and for me a 5 star rating is something I would read again and this I would.

Ella is thrilled to find out she is pregnant but when she finds out it is from the sperm of an unwanted donor, she feels she needs to reach out and give him the chance to be a father if he wants it. Damien is pissed that his sample was given out but he knows for sure he plans to be involved, regardless what the woman thinks. He is the VP of the Vicious Snakes MC and he figures he is going to have to fight for his right to be involved, what he doesn't expect is the beautiful curvy Ella to be willing to accept her into his life. It doesn't take long to understand that she is meant to be his but they have a few big hurdles they have to conquer before they can.

I liked this a lot, I mean it was a bit predictable but at the same time very fun to read. I liked Damien, he is gruff and the biker side is a bit more grittier than what I was expecting. Great read, look forward to the next book.

Sometimes...... In life.....you can eat cheese but if its rotten, crappy cheese, you might want to throw it out and just buy some new cheese ya know? Imma throw this shiet out and move on to new, fresh cheese. It might be stinky, but in a good way? Ok, ill stop 😂

Anyhoo.....I came to goodreads to see how this ends and most.of the reviews are dnfs (did not finish) and no one can tell me. and the sad part is, I ain't that mad about it. Just goes to show you that I'm not really feeling this book or the writing.

She gets inseminated at a sperm bank with the Hs sperm. Her husband, who was with her when they found out she was pregnant, steps out onto the street and gets hit and dies. 😳😐

Shes grieving this dead dude and then gets the news that shes pregnant with someone else kid and meets him. He wants to be part of the babies life and.....yeah. This just plods along with threats from a rival MC group and her wanting apple juice all the time 🤔👀😐😐

She magically finds out that her dad is the mcs president and she's just carrying around a random.picture and letter in her purse everywhere she goes 🤔🤔 and now she's a princess of the mc. And they mention how she's the princess many times. Many many many many times. Lawd. Many.

The way they talk about women who are "club whores".....smh. Ew.

At 49%, she's still grieving her husband, H gave up all the club whores and effing them to the hs surprise and they're EXCLUSIVE but haven't even kissed yet 😬😬😬😬 and I read a spoiler that they don't eff til the end? No thank youuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!! Fuck.that noise, I need some dirty talk and SOMETHING romantically smexxxual okur?

Anyhoo. This is my second try with this book and.....I just cant. Another rec from a FB group commemt. We can't all like the same things but....me no likely this one. Dnf this shit

This biker romance was a very pleasant surprise. It’s also my first time to read this author. I found the story to be interesting and the romance progression was not typical. The heroine went for artificial insemination with her hubby and on the day they confirmed she was preggy, the hubby died. 3 months later, she found out there was a mix up in the sperm donor and the Hero was also informed by the clinic. Their romance development was quite interesting as the H/h were attracted to each other but the h was def not ready as it was too soon after her hubby died and the H also didn’t know anything about her.

I wanted to give this 5 stars but it was just too melodramatic at times as the heroine is apparently the long lost daughter of the MC prez and the H was the vp. The club kept calling her princess and it was too cutesy for a grown woman who they have never met before.

I liked how the book handled the heroine’s feelings for her dead hubby and I liked how the H was really understanding. It made it believable that the H was not second-rate.

Overall, I recommend this book to biker romance fans :) no cheating, it’s pretty safe as H was celibate as soon as he met the h and it took them months before kissing / oral sex and more than a year before they had full sex.

Apple juice addiction- there’s a first..lol, Ella is quite the sweet gal (overly dramatic about food & apple juice though) but she was a nice, sweet character that never forgot her loving husband who passed away 💔
Fate gave her lots to balance her life out from her losses, a family, love, protection, etc.
Of course there has to be drama and horribleness (kidnapping & awful things done to women) but Karma and the MC steps in to fix that!!
Damien is surprisingly understanding, but that probably was because he fell in love with her at first sight and she was a sweet & honest gal… otherwise I think he’d have been a giant a**hole!!!
I’m enjoying the series (I started with book#4 😁)

I give up

DNF @ 44%

The blurb sounded soooo good. Jane the Virgin MC style ?! Yes sign me up.

Unfortunately it didn’t deliver. The writing style just didn’t work for me and exhausted me. It felt like I was reading entries in a diary (sometimes it also felt like a teenager diary…). It was a lot of tell but no show : she went there and she did this and that happened… well I’d like to get more than that. I didn’t connect with the characters or the story.

I was also annoyed by how the club w**res were treated and described. They were just that : club w**res meant to be passed around and expendable. For an MC trying to be on the legal side, that felt hypocritical and simply rude to not even acknowledge them as people. Maybe it’s because this book was more of a tell than a show, I don’t know. I do know that I go tired of the same thing being repeated again and again.

All in all I’m disappointed that the great idea the author had was not executed properly and didn’t manage to keep me interested.

Found this book accidentally, and should not have read it. The storyline sounded so interesting.
I frankly didn't enjoy the writing style of the author, it felt like someone is recalling a past incident and monotonously writing it down.
Especially where Damien mentions that he had his sperm stored because of an accident, what accident, didn't the author think it through enough to name an incident where the guy had to have had his sperm checked.
It was all so flatly written. No character build up, no past storyline except for the female.
If someone pops into a story, she'd give their whole dialogue first and then tell us who they are and what their relation is.
Well clearly the two stars are for the storyline and that's it!

This book did not work for me. Going in I thought the blurb sounded intriguing with a new spin on MC romance but the writing was bad. The author kept repeating herself throughout the entire story which became annoying and another thing that bugged me was the repetitive use of the name Princess and Club whore, we get it so it doesn't have to be said every other sentence. Kudos to the author for writing a novel but the writing style was just not for me.

Hmmmm I'm torn with this book cos I enjoyed it but hated it at the same time!

Omg could Ella be any more a self absorbed princess? Shes gone from foster kid with no family to sitting buddha princess! She is beyond annoying and incredibly childish. behaves like a 16 yr old little girl.

N sorry she just happens to be the prez long lost daughter.

Incredibly corny, predictable n meh.

DNF - DNF’d so quickly. The writing in this is atrocious. If you’re saying “I’m a bad boy” over and over again (sprinkled liberally with the word “fuck”) then you probably aren’t as dangerous as you think. Tough guys don’t need to say they’re tough.

I am going to forget I’ve ever borrowed this one.

The whole club whores= bitch, evil woman and old lady= strong, worthy woman propaganda the author was forcing down our throats pissed me off. The author created such a clear dichotomy between both “types” of women and it just pissed me off how she simply stripped the club whores of all personality until each club whore became just a dispensable hole for a man to dip their 🍆 in. It’s disgusting and reflects more on the men using women like that than anything else. And it sets the tone to how juvenile the authors writing was.

The book was so cliche and cringe I wanted to claw my eyes out sometimes, and the heroine such a special snowflake adorable princess who loves food and is cranky if she no get her food and everyone absolutely adores her and she’s so funny… made me want to die.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love when the heroine is the secret unknown daughter to the all important figure in the book - but the way it was done here with so much cheese made me want to puke.

I also didn’t like how immediately the hero fell for the heroine. Zero angst. He just stops fucking other women as soon as he knows the heroine is pregnant so it was obvious how his feelings were gonna develop.

And there was no drama that she was the secret daughter of the President- like everyone just accepted the hero falling for the secret daughter they all love and protect without questioning it? Like yeah she’s carying his baby, but there could’ve been some drama, and angst!

But yeah despite all that I finished it and still somehow didn’t entirely hate it? Idk sometimes ur in the mood for cheese you know, even if it is poorly written and sprinkled with so much cheese you want to choke

Not sure how to review this book. It was ok.

Loved the fact that he was celibate and couldn't look at another woman once they met. He had also a looooot of patience and he was understanding with her, considering she lost her husband just a few months before they met.
Also loved that she loved eating a lot while pregnant, haha, it reminded me of my two pregnancies. I was not that emotional, but I get it. That part was real, a little bit exaggerated, here and there, but real nonetheless.

I feel like everything solved too easily. They stayed for a few months in lockdown and once the enemy got her the resolve took a few pages tops. I don't know, it was a lot of fuss for nothing, so to say.

Also the fact that the president was her father ... please, what a coincidence. First with the donor mix-up (which definitely will not happen in real life, but ok, this is a book, I can accept this) and then she discovered who her father was while having that letter for so many years! Not sure how the letter survived so many years in her purse! That's some magical type of paper for sure, haha.

Also all the fuss with her being a club princess was exaggerated. We get it, she is THE PRINCESS! Let's move on.

And I'm pretty sure there were a few issues with the timeline.

I will continue this series thought, I'm curious at least to read the next one.

This is my first book by this author and it won't be my last. I can't wait to read more Vicious Snakes. I found this book in a book group on facebook someone could only remember part of the story and posted asking what the title and author was and it sounded great so I went and got a copy and read it.

I loved this book. I felt bad for Ella in the beginning.

I can't wait to read the rest of Vicious Snakes.

I loved the plot because I’m a sucker for pregnancy in romance and even better when it’s a mistake that’s made by sperm clinic. The characters were likable and I enjoyed seeing them navigate life together.

While I liked it I had issues. The story had so much telling me what was happening and not enough showing. Scenes were fast and I wish that some things were more detailed. It seemed like some important scenes were just told what happened and not really showing me what was happening with the characters. I would read more in this series because I did like the secondary characters and would like to see more. 3 stars #2OCCJD

It's a ok read

The drama was good in this book. I did like these two together. I liked her better in the beginning. She was really childish later on. And how many times does this author have to say princess in this book. We get it already. No sex really until the end.
I was really looking forward to read what happens with the rival president throughout the book and when get to it finally, we get nothing. What a let down. You read after it already happened. I guess this author needed the space for all that princess nonsense

This book was amazing. The first few chapters guted me. I love the intensity of a building relationship whith the father of your baby who was never meant to be whilst still in mourning. Threat on your life from a rival club. And learning to love again. This book is all story and not just full of sex. 5 stars

I am at 16% and the writing is awkward and clunky. The dialogue doesn't flow smoothly, and the first-person POV (from Damien and Ella) has a lot of info-dumping.

I'm at the part of the story where Ella has come to attend a barbeque at the club house because Damien wants her to meet the club members, and she's shocked when she sees the prez because he resembles a photo she found among her mother's effects when her mother died. Shocked, like she stands there and starts tearing up. She says there was a letter too, addressed to a certain person, but she never asks him what his name is to verify that he is that person. She conveniently carries the letter around with her everywhere -- how it is not all crumpled or beat up is beyond me -- and she just hands it over to him without any questions!

He asks for some time to read the letter and goes off, and the next moment, she's laughing and eating as if that whole emotional scene never happened. Again, she never asked this guy a single question, not "Why would my mother keep a photo of you?", not "Is your name XYZ?", nothing. Zero curiosity. It is ridiculous and unbelievable. This is why I say the writing is awkward and clunky. No one in such a situation would react like this.

Also, it's unbelievable that her mother hadn't moved away from the town where the Vicious Snakes MC was, to ensure that the Prez wouldn't be able to track her down and find her. I never before heard of anyone who was on the run and trying not to be found still continuing to stay in the same place!

I think this is going to be a DNF. I read a bit more and the dialogue is really bad. I can't take it anymore. DNF @21%.

No...just no. The plot was unique and interesting BUT the dialogue is very lacking in this book. The speculation on the part of both the man and the woman concerning a possible relationship seems precipitous at best considering they hadn't even met yet and she was married. Why they assume that it's just a woman and not a couple again seems stereotyping kind of b******* that continues on through the book. I got to about 10% and I couldn't do it anymore. The writing out just a synopsis of conversations or events in a book is not a proper way to author anything. That's simply an outline. We need more as readers than they liked each other and he liked the way she looked and things like that. I just can't finish this book and I don't know many people who could keep slogging through. Maybe she gets better as the book goes on and there seems to be a lot of four and five star reviews but the cussing on the males part is just horrendous. The belittlement of women is another problem. I don't care if he's in an MC he shouldn't be talking like that it's ridiculous. I didn't realize I'd have such a strong reaction to what little I did read but yeah I'm done with this series and won't be continuing.
