The Deal: Amber Sagra is trying to keep a low profile, even though she has the power to break curses, each curse she breaks comes with a high price: time off her life.

Because of the curses she has broken, her body is well into it's 30's even though, if she had aged normally, she would be 26. So she has sworn not to get involved anymore.

But then, two people show up at her door, looking for her help to break their curses. Out of the two, Rafe doesn't believe in curses, even though he knows that all the first borns of his family die at age 33 - and he is currently 32.

Amber reluctantly agrees to help them... and starts to fall in love

My Thoughts: I loved the idea behind Enchanted Again, it sounded so original and I actually quite loved the world building, Mystic Circle - the place were Amber lives - was a lot of fun to read about with the houses and the creatures and all that.

And, over all, I liked Amber, she was a very interesting character, sadly, I couldn't really connect with her - or with the other characters like Rafe. I don't know why, I liked the story and I can't exactly pin-point why, but I just didn't click with the characters.

Also, while I was reading I realized this is actually the second book in the series, and while I don't think I missed a great deal, I don't like reading books out of order, so that dampened my enjoyment a little as well

*I don't recommend reading this unless you've read Enchanted No More first.*

Amber Sarga is a curse breaker. The problem? Magic has a price. Each time Amber breaks a curse she ages. Sometimes it's merely weeks, other times it's years. Amber has a good life going for herself. The perfect home in Mystic Circle, her precious puppies to keep her company, garden to keep her busy, and her own genealogy business.

Then the handsome and cursed Rafe Davail walks into her life and turns everything upside down. While Rafe is busy stealing her heart, his curse may be the one to finally steal her life.

I was quite disappointed with this book. I thoroughly enjoyed Enchanted No More. It was quite amazing. I expected the same thing from Enchanted Again. Didn't happen.

I think, in part, this is because I fell so in love with the characters from book one that the characters in this installment paled in comparison. Amber was sort of dull and Rafe was even more so.

The plot moved along incredibly slow and it was, quite frankly, boring. Unlike it's predecessor, Enchanted Again didn't have enough of the magical element to it; not enough of the fantasy world that I adored so much. Most of this story took place right in Amber's home and it was just this never-ending circle of Amber and Rafe dealing in chocolate to the brownies of the home, arguing over how magical Rafe may or may not be, and the two of them tiptoeing around their feelings for each other.

The final battle was less than satisfying. I was expecting something much more dramatic and exciting. This one was almost cheesy and, again, paled in comparison to Enchanted No More.

One thing I can say I truly enjoyed was how much character the brownies brought to the story. I adore those little creatures! They are so much fun!

I also enjoyed the ending. It was sort of interwoven with the first book in the series. It was an almost-sad-but-happy-at-the-last-minute sort of ending. I am glad that with all the problems I had with this book, I at least got a great ending out of it. :)

If there is a third book I'll read it, but I hope it's a step up from this one.

This is my first book that I have read of Robin's but won't be the last. I enjoyed learning about her world. Seeing Amber all she risks to help others and lessons she learns.
I would love to meet the residents of Mistic circle, besides Amber and the brownies. I fit in that world love chocolate too. Amber sure has to buy a lot of it because she uses it to bribe or pay for favors.
Amber is a curse breaker but she pays a big price for it. Each time she breaks a curse she pays with years of her life. Her biggest one so far cost her 5 years of her life and it also effects her animals and those she has ties too. Amber learned that lesson the hard way.
Amber one day while she is out in her garden a brownie appears Pred and his wife appear they live over at her neighbors house who has gone away for awhile and become friends with Amber when she starts giving them chocolate. Amber is 26 years but her body is now in her 30's.
Conrad and Rafe show up to her house and Conrad wants her to fix his curse both of them are cursed but Rafe does not believe in the curse.
Conrad just got divorced and lost his son in custudy battle. His curse in his line when the male has a son he looses him and when he finally finds him he dies.
Rafe family curse is the first male dies by his 33 birthday. Rafe is 32 and has money and plays hard.
Amber tells them she can't help and finally is willing to do their geneolgy and see if she can tell them anything about their family curses.
Their is a lot of magic, elf, drawfs brownies and bad guys and quests.
I really love all three of the brownies and others that bond with Amber and their relationships. I think its the interaction of the characters that makes this a book I did not want to put down. Hope to read more about Mystic Circle residents.
I was given this ebook to read in exchange of honest review from Netgalley.

Eh, not impressed. The premise is great - a woman who can break curses, but loses some of her own life every time, and a man who has a death-curse. Execution, not so much. Amber is at first a woman who is has come to an understanding of her magic and is trying to protect herself while also developing her other magical skills. Rafe does not believe in magic and only meets her because his friend (who is also cursed) goes to her for help. The friend leaves to follow his estranged wife (obviously book 3) and Rafe and Amber start to try to figure out Conrad's curse. Then suddenly the book is all about Rafe. Turns out he can lift the curse by killing a big bad spirit and he becomes like a mighty morphine in training. And he has more magic than Amber and he develops his skills twice as fast as her.
Amber's issues become very second-place. She's basically told she is stupid because she helps people - by Rafe, by the brownies who come to hang out at her place, by the local elf, etc. Rafe meanwhile, who hasn't believed in magic or the curse really up until now, is suddenly every magic person's favorite guy. They are all ready to help him out and leave him clues, training instructions, etc. [while they run off to help out in resolving whatever is going on on book 1].
Amber is falling in love and has to help him out (of course). Rafe says he cares for her, but he's also thinking things like "she's squishy, not strong and brave."
So the romance was pretty ziltch, the action was almost non-existent - even the big fight was pretty boring - and the minor fairyfolk were mostly annoying. Yes, the brownies and fire sprites and random dwarves, etc were cute but they mostly just ate chocolate and whined.

I am in love with Robin Owens’ books and this one let me know once again why. Her characters and world building are wonderful, as is the writing.

In this book, the main character, Amber, is a curse breaker. But there’s a problem with her magic – in that it is self-destructive. She’s a curse breaker who can’t break her own curse. As with most books from Luna, there is a love interest – Rafe. He’s a bit unlikeable at first since he’s all about himself, but he eventually becomes the supporting hero he’s supposed to be. The story becomes very emotional (not going to give away spoilers here) and touching in several spots, but that just serves to enhance the characterization, especially in Amber’s case.

Though I most definitely recommend this book, I suggest strongly that you start with the first book in the series, Enchanted No More. That one builds the world much better and you get a better grasp what is going on, but if you can’t get that one first, definitely pick this one up.

As a paranormal romance goes, Enchanted Again was more interesting than most, although still very formulaic. But in comparison to the first book in the series, the scope is really limited. It takes place mostly in the magically balanced cul-de-sac in Denver, Mystic Circle, and focuses mainly on two people, a curse-breaker and a death-cursed man and their very personal troubles. There are appearances by minor Lightfolk, mainly brownies, who eat lots of chocolate. There's little sense of the outer world of magic or a bigger purpose.

The first book felt more like a true fantasy with the world-wide magical crisis. This was disappointing as a follow-up to that. I had hoped it would tie in more to the bigger scene - and maybe the next book will. Butt here you're getting a fairly standard paranormal romance with some interesting magic, and that's about it.

Enchanted Again and Again

I read and enjoyed the Mystic Circle series when first released and love the new Author’s Preferred (and updated) edition even more. Enchanted Again stands alone but has a setting, secondary characters, and theme that slightly overlap and continue on from Enchanted No More. The third in the series, Enchanted Ever After, is to be released in 2021. If you enjoy Ilona Andrew’s Innkeeper Series, you will love Robin D. Owens Mystic Circle and probably her other series too.

Enchanted Again: Mystic Circle #2

Robin D. Owens

This story was great! Amber Sarga is a genealogist, but her magic gift from her maternal side is to break curses placed on people. She learned the hard way that the cost for breaking curses is that she ages physically, the worse the curse the more years it takes off of her life. She is about five foot six, with honey colored skin and dark eyes. She appears physically about thirty-three, but she is chronologically only twenty-six. She has learned her lesson in curse breaking though, any being she loves and holds dear also suffers the accelerated aging also. She lost her beloved cat the last curse she broke; now she has two puppies and refuses to put them in danger.

Rafael Barakiel Davail is thirty-two and knows that he will not live to be thirty-three. No first born son in his family has ever lived past thirty-three. He doesn’t believe in magic, curses or anything he can’t see, feel and touch. He lives his life like he won’t see tomorrow, extreme sports, race car driving, anything dangerous that he can cheat death while excelling at it. His tall, lanky body, dark blond hair and vivid blue eyes have always made getting the girl easy. His rich bank account hasn’t hurt either. His younger brother is the responsible one that runs the family business and is engaged. He doesn’t believe in the family curse, but he goes to the ‘curse breaker’ with his best-friend, Conrad Tyne-Cymbler, who does believe in curses and needs to break his before he loses his baby son.

The brownies over at Jennie Mist-Weaver’s house start coming around Amber’s house. Pred picks her violets and asks her to make a chocolate pie with the violets candied – which he does with a breath. Hertha joins them, scolding her mate for showing himself to another in Mystic Circle when Jennie had forbidden it, but the promise of chocolate pie with candied violets was enough to encourage her to stay also and help Amber with her magic a little bit. Once Rafe and Conrad showed up, Pred went to find the brownie that is supposed to serve her family, the descendants of Cumulustre, Tiro. Tiro is a very grumpy brownie, says that the women of the Cumulustre are ‘squishy’ and they only think of the people whose curses they break, no one else.

Pavan and Vikos, the Elf and Dwarf guardians show up after shadleeches attack Rafe, telling him about his legacy as a warrior against the Dark Ones and what the needs to do on his thirty-third birthday to access his heritage. They can’t tell him much about his curse, is happened when they lost track of his line sometime in the twelve century. Pavan left a new version of the Fairies and Dragons game on Rafe’s tablet and made it so the magic and technology meld fueled it. Hertha offered hot chocolate and cookies to Vikos, but not Pavan, when Pavan asked she replied because he was rude to Amber. He greeted her properly, if coolly, after that Hertha gave a small cup of chocolate and a saucer of two cookies to him.

When Pavan left the advice he gave Rafe was to manifest the dagger he been dreaming of, and to do that, play the game. The game gave him the Cosmos Shield, and the Cosmos Dagger ended up at the Denver Museum of Natural History. Now they have to get it. When he had been attacked again and Eight Corp wouldn’t help with a bodyguard, Sittizz showed up offering to do the job to bring honor back to her name.

I loved this book as much as their first one of this series and can’t wait for the third come out a little later this year. This mix of magic and technology in the twenty-first century is fascinating to me and a wonderful flight for my imagination. The characters all come to life so vividly as the brownies scuff their feet, roll their ears down their heads, the fire sprits burns hirer or condenses herself, the tone of skin, the brightness of eyes and a simple hand guster commented on all add up to making these people as real to me as I am reading as my co-workers sitting the room with me. Ms. Owens remains one of my all time favorite authors and continually be on my auto buy list. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful stories with us, Ms. Owens and I await the next one.

I really enjoyed seeing more of the world-building of this urban fantasy/paranormal romance series (Mystic Circle). The deeper exploration into the way that the various elemental magics work, how you can perceive them and what tools you can use were fun to explore. Then there were the attitudes of the various high and low elemental powers - and a visit from two characters first met in the first book (not heroine and hero, which was good).

Because this story was mostly set in Mystic Circle cul-de-sac I got more of an impression of it. The personalities of the various brownies and even the fire sprites were shown in more depth, I really liked the curmudgeon Tiro, who had very good reasons for his bitterness - and the universal adoration of chocolate is shared by me.

The job of curse-breaker and gene-manipulated knight against the true Dark Ones were explored to my satisfaction, I am not a reader who would realise inconsistencies in technical explanations about that.

I liked that Amber showed from the first that the constant underestimation from all around her - brownies, Rafael, elves - was not in the least warranted: she knew her mettle and the way her power worked as well as she could; she kept working to find out more and had a constant eye on it to the point of realising that it was increasing; she kept an open mind for new ways of using it. When she decided to go beyond her personal limit, she did it with her eyes open and because she valued Rafael's life that much.

This is where we come to what didn't work for me: the love story.

I thought Rafael was really well characterised, too. He's a gung-ho adrenaline junkie, who actually has a very good reason due to his death-curse (which he has told himself he doesn't believe in, until he is smacked in the face with a curse that his only friend carries). He adapts fast because once he actually believes, the barriers to fear for his life come down, too - and the fact that Amber can hint at a chance of survival and her tips actually help him feel empowered and are corroborated by other Light folk makes him throw himself to his utmost into training for his best chance at survival.

I liked the training and his internal development there, it was very consistent with how he was introduced. I totally got that because there was the duality of possible hope of survival, but also certain death threat, he would grasp at life like he did in other highly dangerous sport situations - throw himself at the woman who was helping him, even as he kept seeing her as not his usual taste, as squishy and fuzzy and comfortable.

I think Amber was all that for him. He never really tried to dig deeper into her past or background, the one time they talked about the cost to her for breaking curses he was properly horrified but forgot about it soon. He was sure that he could beat the bad guy without her help at the end and when he realised that this hadn't been the case, he was actually surprised when he saw the result. It hurt him, because clinging to her as someone who understood and supported him and might be there when he won had become another talisman in his approach to the end fight.

And so, because he can't think beyond himself, he accepts her own judgement of the situation, accepts her house and brownie and goes to virtually train for his next step to become a knight for the Light Elves - so he's really shocked when she manages to find a way to break her own personal geas/curse and come back. He never explored any further ways of asking for help from any of the people who ought to be thankful he got rid of a prospective Dark One for them.

So - for me Rafael is not the mate that Amber deserves. He may be the mate she wants. He might even grow into a mate that deserves her, she obviously is willing to accept what he has to give now. Personally I hope she'll wise up that she deserves a man who is actually interested in her for herself and sees her as the capable and caring woman she is.

Also: the copy editor of the ebook overlooked a few grammar mistakes (his instead of her and such) - no spelling mistakes - but it took me out of the story occasionally.

Favorite Lines: "A shiver passed through her as she felt a circuit of energy between them open and cycle. Strong and steady and...lovely.

"I care for you," he said in an absolute tone.

"I care for you, too," she responded.

He squeezed her fingers. "We'll get through this together." Then he closed his eyes and kissed her and she let her mouth cling to his and didn't call him on his lie." (p. 263, egalley)

Robin D. Owens is back with book two in her Mystic Circle series. The story, Enchanted Again, is about the neighbor of book one's heroine. If you haven't read Enchanted No More (book one), don't try to start the series with this book. The first book introduces the world, explains prejudices, magic and characters. It makes it possible for the reader to pick up book two and read with an understanding of what is possible in the world Owens' created.

I think LUNA is one of my favorite lines of books. The books feature strong heroines in fantasy and urban fantasy genres. I've had more hits than misses with their books, too. Owens' Mystic Circle is another winning series published by LUNA which has a permanent place on my bookshelf.

The heroine, Amber, tries so hard to avoid self-destructive behavior. It's not easy because simply using her magic is self-destructive. It's all tied up in an obscure curse which is kind of ironic since she is a curse breaker who can't break her own curse. I liked Amber from the get go. She reminded me of an old soul which is kinda funny seeing as how breaking curses ages her physical body.

On the flip side, I didn't like her love interest Rafe for most of the story. He seemed to only worry about himself. It was all about his adrenaline rush. I don't think he ever realized how self-centered he was, but I did. After major events it was all about the feel good flood which filled his body. He just sort of pulled the heroine along with him for the ride. In the end, I only accepted a relationship between Rafe and Amber because I connected with Amber and she wanted it so bad.

Besides Amber, there were other characters I was interested in: the brownies and elementals. Both were vital to the many successes and discoveries made throughout the story. Book one spent more time focused on fae nobility, so it was nice to see a heroine connect with the lower or lesser fae creatures. The creatures who are like the working class. They keep everything running smoothly. You always know where you stand with them and they are most likely to know and tell you the details needed for survival. The lesser fae also seemed to center the hero and heroine. While I liked the characters there were a few scenes which really slammed the story home for me.

I have two favorite parts of the book. The part when Amber recognizes her flaw and how to fix it, and the events which wrap up the story. This is another tear jerker, but it so much more. It is magic, good vs. evil story filled with love, passion, friendship and hope. It's a book I can pull out when I'm feeling blah, flip to a particular section and have a good cry as I read about the things a good woman will do for her man even if they can't be together.

If you haven't started the Mystic Circle series it's time to do so. Run out and pick up books one and two, then pop back by to let me know what you think.

I got my copy of Enchanted Again from netgalley.  Although I have not read the previous book Enchanted No More I hoped it would not affect me reading this book.  From the moment I started Enchanted Again I found myself really enjoying it and you don't miss out on not having read the previous story, which was great for me.
Amber is a genealogist, but also a curse breaker, and she is approached by Conrad and  Rafe  to help break Conrad's curse.  Agreeing to help, and and after Rafe has some life threatening attacks, he stays with Amber in her house were she learns more about Conrad and Rafe's curse, and slowly starts to fall in love.  But it's not all plain sailing for Rafe and Amber and they must work together to break Rafe's curse.

Enchanted Again is the first book by Robin D. Owens that I have read and it does not disappoint. It is a longer book than my usual ebooks but kept me engrossed throughout.  I enjoyed watching the relationship between Rafe and Amber develop into something more than a job.  I like how Robin has described the details of the different magic races and their 'colours' and how a certain magic being is a certain colour, and the detail of Mystic Circle and the houses within it makes me wish I lived there.
I fell in love with the Brownies straight away, and when the fire sprites were introduced I loved them as well.
The most touching part about Enchanted Again was when Amber breaks her bonds with people who she has made contact or touched their lives in anyway, customers, friends, magical beings and even her pets.  The emotion in those few pages, reading how she feels about each person, finding bonds she didn't know existed, and making sure the bonds frayed slowly so the other person wouldn't feel it really touched me and I felt sorry for Amber for having to do it.
Enchanted Again ends in a place that is waiting for a new book to be wrote and I am looking forward to see what happens next with Rafe and Amber.

I devoured this book! I loved Robin Owens' Summoning Series, so when I got a chance to read this new series from her I jumped on it! This book did not disappoint me at all! There are a mated royal couple of each element left on earth with two guardians when all the rest of the magical being's left due to Earths diminishing magic. Magical being's mixed with humans and Amber is a result of that. She can travel back in time to learn about families, so she calls herself a geneologist and she does family trees for families. She is also a curse breaker. However she has to pay for her magic and every time she breaks a curse she ages, more major the curse the more she ages.

Rafe seeks Amber out to help break his friends curse but with in days realizes his curse is real and he needs her help as well.

Rafe and Amber's romance is touching and their unselfish love for each other made me cry at points. The mystery and action in this book was perfectly paced and perfectly mingled with the romance story. I highly recommend reading this book. I can't wait to read the other books in this series and see how the rest of the residence in Mystic Circle find romance and solve their issues!

*I didn't realize this is the second book in the series until after I read it. It definitely can stand on it's own but I can not wait to read the first just to read Jenni's story. *

When two strangers stop by Amber's home, she is instantly taken aback by the curses attached to the two men. A skilled genealogist, she digs into the past to find where the curse originates and helps to break it without using her magic - which ages her.

Rafe and Gabe are both in trouble. Gabe has just lost his family to a long standing curse, and he's bound and bent to break it and regain his son and his wife. Rafe's curse is deadly - and it's slowly closing in around him. His deadline is his birthday only a short time away. With the help of Amber, these two hope she can break their curses.

I LOVED this book, it not only was about a genealogist (*squee* - I'm a huge family history buff) it's a paranormal! Such an awesome combination that had me GLUED to the book for hours and couldn't put it down. I adored Amber - she was spunky, funny, talented and kept Rafe on his toes. And of course the adorable puppies!

I am definitely going to pick up the first book in this series - Jenni Weaver's story (Amber's next door neighbour) and find out more about some of the characters from this book. I also can't wait to see what Robin comes up with next - and hopefully we get to find out what happens to Gabe!

This was the type of book that had be feeling all sorts of ways. At the begining of the book I thought Culmustere (the elf that cursed Amber"s line) was a dick and way out of line because they were just trying to save people. I plan on being a nurse. I am going to make a living in saving people and I don't understand how anyone could just let someone die. But then towards the of the book I realized that he had their best interest in mind. He wanted them to realize that they were important too and they shouldn't carelessly throw away their lives. I was also conflicted with Amber and Rafe. Obviously they were going to fall in love which complicated things with his death curse. I wanted her to safe him at first but at the same time I did't because I didn't want her to die either. When he found the dagger to kill Billachoe I was all for her not breaking his curse, but I understand why she did it and in her place I would have done the same. I am very happy that Rafe decided to stick around and mope and find a way to fix Amber than move on quickly. I was so scared he would move on to one of the girls at the party before Amber could reach him. I am excited to see how this unfolds in the rest of the series.

XOXO,

Amber's in a bit of a bind. When it comes to breaking curses she just can't seem to help herself. Unfortunately Amber has no one to help guide her, teach her about this gift and she's learned the hard way that every time she does break a curse it has consequences.

When a handsome young man comes knocking on her door bound with a death curse, Amber will use all her skills to help him find the counter to his curse but even that may not be enough. As his importance to her becomes more apparent he might be too much for her to resist going against all those vows not to break curses, and the price for helping him could mean her life.

Enchanted Again was an interesting take on the term "modern day fairy tale". Owens' creates her own unique spin on the fairy realms by merging them with everyday life and the virtual gaming world. I loved her secondary characters but found it hard to connect to her leading lady. While Enchanted Again had a solid story line, interesting personalities, and a compelling merging of the real and imaginary worlds, I still found it hard to get into the book. It had everything but that all consuming need to lose myself.

The story behind this book really intrigued me. I loved the gift of curse breaking and the fact that saving someone else took its toll on the person who broke the curse. Along with the magical gifts that Amber has, there are also Brownies that live at her house and assist her, as well as giving her advice about the curses she breaks. The romance between Amber and Rafe is sweet, but not too graphic, so those who like just a little romance will be pleased.

Unfortunately, I think the story suffered from a lack of world building. There are several different types of beings to keep straight (brownies, fire sprites, etc..) and a lot of the dialogue is taken up trying to explain who they are and what they do. As a reader, that really took me out of the story. The books that really draw me in are the books that present the world through the story and the characters, not by straight explanation. For that reason, I didn't feel very attached to any of the characters and I couldn't really get involved in the story. It was a good idea, but I did not feel involved in the world of the book.

This book seemed to develop a little slowly in the beginning, with much attention paid to introducing characters and world elements that I hope will continue to show up in future books in this series. Robin D. Owens always provides an amazing new world to delve into, but because this series is tied so much closer to contemporary vision of Earth (rather than a completely new world as in The Summing and Celta series), I had a more difficult time wading through the intricacies of world-development that usually fascinate me.

However, once the story picked up a little more action, I was once again an engrossed reader, unwilling to leave Amber and Rafe's adventure behind, even for sleep! I enjoyed the story, the complex connections between characters, and seeing the introduction of future story threads. I wish only that I hadn't found the series until the author was done, because I don't how I'm going to manage waiting for the next book to be published!

I liked Enchanted Again and certainly didn't have trouble getting through it, but I just don't find this series as compelling as her others, particularly the Celta series (which I LOVE). Perhaps this is because I don't care for fantasy-in-the-real-world settings as much as completely new worlds, or maybe it's because the characters felt less developed and not as well fleshed out as I'm used to with her books. The writing is good and flows well, but I just haven't gotten as attached or emotionally involved with the characters in the Mystic Circle books as I have with characters in her other series'. That said, this was an enjoyable book and a fun read for me. I'll likely continue to read the series, but I doubt I'll be rushing to buy it the day it comes out and it's just not one of those books that sticks out in my mind.

In the mundane world Amber Sarga is a genealogist, but with part magical heritage she is also a curse breaker, able to sense and remove curses from those bound by them. The only drawback: each broken curse takes years off her life. When two men show up on her doorstep needing her services, she agrees to offer guidance but tries to stay otherwise aloof. Of course this doesn't work--she is drawn to Rafe and he to her and soon cannot resist getting involved. Owens' urban fantasy, set in Denver, makes interesting use of elves, brownies, elemental magics and other usual fantasy elements and tells an absorbing story while doing it. It inspired me to search out Enchanted No More, and I will definitely be on the lookout for any more stories about the residents of Mystic Circle.

I like this series but I had to give this book only 3 stars.

I didn't like how Rafe wanted to protect Amber but didn't seem to consider her feelings or her role a lot of the time.

I understand he had a death curse on him, but Amber was helping him & he seemed more concerned with his own "fun" activities.

I couldn't blame Amber for feeling jealous and annoyed at times since I'd have felt a bit "used" if I'd have been in her shoes.

He never even asked about her day, just came home & talked about his accomplishments.

In a situation that COULD be fatal for them both, he was too busy thinking of himself.

Don't let this review dissuade you from reading the book. It's still an enjoyable read from a great author & I'm opening book 3 now. :)

It is well known by those who follow me on my personal twitter that I have a deep love for Robin D. Owens's books. If I had to rank my top three favorite authors, it'd probably be Nalini Singh, Robin D. Owens and then Shelly Laurenston. So believe me when I say that I am incapable of giving this book anything below four stars. I am biased. You have been forewarned.

A longer reaction to be pub'd at my blog on 11/20/11, but I don't recommend reading this if you haven't already read Enchanted No More.

I got about two-thirds of the way through this book and stopped...because my dog decided it looked tasty. BUT what I read of this book was fantastic, and I really wanted to finish it. I definitely need to buy it again so I can finish it. I enjoyed the first part of this book so much that I'm rushing into reading the next one in the series, Enchanted Ever After. So far, so good!!

I love this author, and I recommend her to anyone who enjoys a good fantasy. Her Heartmate series also has a good mix of sci-fi elements. Anyone looking to start reading either of these genres is in good hands with Robin D. Owens.

This was a sweet fantasy story with a little romance. Amber is a curse breaker, but every time she breaks a curse, it ages her prematurely. Rafe is a man under a curse that will kill him by his fast approaching 33rd birthday. After Amber falls in love with Rafe, the problem is, if she does nothing, he will die and she will be heart broken, but if she breaks the curse, she will age so much she will either die right off, or at least cut decades off of her life. The ending of the story was perhaps a bit too tidy, but still made for an enjoyable read.

I have been reading Robin D. Owens since the begining and I love her books. What I can say is that she keeps getting beter and better. The second characters are wonderful just like the main characters. I read it in one sitting and could not put it down. The book makes you believe in magic. The same magic you believed in as a child.Enchanted Again

Not as compelling as the first book in the series, Enchanted No More, this was a look at a background setting and the characters that inhabit it. That was all to the good, but unfortunately the romance that was set up played a much bigger role (in part because this was spent completely in Denver, so couldn't spin up the world building). The romance was a combination of predictable and yet awkward.

“The shield was awesome and the knife was simply incredible." This sentence is pretty typical of the writing quality of this book. I stopped reading at this point. I just do not care for writing is writtne on this level.
