When college football star Jackson Scott has a bad day, he really has a bad day.
After a bar fight and a run-in with an unsympathetic waitress, he slinks home to find a baby he didn’t know he had, and the child's mother insisting they spend some quality time together.
With the NFL draft coming soon and his grades not graduating material, however, Jackson doesn’t exactly have time to play daddy.
Now he not only needs a tutor, he needs a nanny as well.
A serious, hard-working scholarship student sounds like a good first step.
Naomi is saving every penny to finish school and pursue her dream job writing for a big newspaper.
When she loses her part time job as a waitress, she applies with a nanny service in hopes of finding a way to pay her tuition.
Imagine her surprise when the star football player she had words with days earlier turns out to be the man she's now nannying for!
When these two opposites settle their differences, an unexpected romance begins to blossom.
Will a meddling mother and a stern coach tear them apart? Will they overcome the obstacles that threaten to ruin their dreams?
**** This is a standalone full length BWWM romance Novell with an HEA. **** Your copy of "Hard Pass" (approximately 50,000 words) includes a BONUS BOOK by Nia Wilson
This is my first read by this author and my review is on the first book only. Pretty standard story about jock Jackson who has a secret baby dumped on him. Of course, with being out the blue, he enlist Naomi, waitress/classmate/girl who's struggling to stay in school to help. It's a pretty standard story nothing that makes the story stand out. There was timeline discrepancy, where it went from a few weeks of their relationship building, to everything happening within one week. I would actually give 2 1/2 stars
Naomi and Jackson's story was very interesting and kept me wanting things to work out between them. Even with the issues that seemed to keep popping up around then trying to separate everything they were trying to do, things have a way of doing the opposite of what you want or need. Good job Raven!!!
This was actually two books both were very enjoyable reads. Hard Pass did a great job of showing how Jackson really grew up and take responsibility for his daughter and Naomi was truly remarkable. Well done Ms Rivers. The second book is also very good!
Quick read good one too, young college love along with strife. A young football superstar jock is forced you grow up quick, lucky hunk he has great support.
